Bob's Appliance Repair

They are both Maytags. He came over the second time on a Sunday morning around 11:00. He found the problem right away. He checked some other things out for us. He told us that the washer and dryer are very good appliances and we should keep them for a while. He is very nice. His price is very good. He is very knowledgeable. The price shown is to fix the dryer.

On Sunday evening 12/14/08, we noticed that our Kenmore refrigerator was no longer cooling. I cleaned the evaporator coils and went to bed confident that I had solved the problem. When I checked the fridge before leaving for work on Monday morning, nothing had changed-the freezer was functioning but no cool air was getting to the fridge. When I got to my office I searched Angie's list for "A" rated companies and found Bob's Appliance Repair. I gave Bob Salem a call before 8:30 AM and he agreed to come out around lunchtime. He told me that he would give me a call before he left his shop. At around 11:30 AM, he called and said he was on his way. I arrived home and he arrived a couple of minutes later with his helper. They were both polite and courteous and went right to work. Bob found the problem(a bad part that controls the fan that moves air from the freezer to the refrigerator compartment)had it replaced and was out of the house within 45 minutes. The entire event was quick and painless and the price was very reasonable. I will certainly call Bob in the future for appliance repair and have no reservations in recommending his services. He's responsive and does great work.

Fabulous-he worked our stove into his full schedule just before Thanksgiving and dinner was saved in the process. Professional, knowledgeable and punctual.

Overall, it was a great experience. He was very responsive to my need and was very professional. I would definitely recommend him to others.

He identified it as being a minor repair, from my description over the phone. I was very happy that he was correct and was very happy that The price reflected that.

After a delayed start due to some phone miscommunication, Bob came over and gave me a free estimate. He repaired the washer on the spot and then gave me options on the dryer, which could not be repaired. He located a working, used dryer for me and brought it back later in the week and installed it. While here, he discovered and corrected a dangerous situation regarding the dryer vent. Also, he knew we were renting and cost was a concern. He did a great job and I would definitely call him again!

I wish there was either one of two. 1. Bob was capable of fixing everything in a house as he was one of the most straight forward and knowledgeable persons in the repair business, or 2. Bob would train other service contractors on how to do business. He did a great job in service, timeliness, and cost. I highly recommend him.

Indeed the repair was very simple. Bob and his partner, Ed, had the machine fixed and running again in less than 5 minutes (something in the lid switch he said was the problem). They were very polite and attentive and love Angie's List members. The very next day, my dryer wouldn't start. (I suspected possible electrical problems since I had whole house changed over from fuses to breakers and dryer was on its own separate line.) Ed came back over, checked things out, determined it was possibly a bad contact that is failing in the timer switch of the dryer setting knob or is something starting to fail in the start button. He jiggled things and got the machine working for now. He simply wrote down the model number to have the necessary parts on hand when either part ultimately does blow, but for now things are working. Best part--no charge for his "office visit and diagnosis." Very nice guys to work with!

My washer stopped working on Sunday afternoon. I called Bob on Monday morning and he worked with me to find a convenient time to come do the repair. Since I was at work, he made arrangements to come at lunchtime so I could come home and meet him. He and his assistant, Ed, showed up when they said they would and explained everything they were doing in detail. They were prompt, efficient, courteous, and cleaned up the area when they were done working on the machine. The washer works better than ever! Bob's Appliance is by far the BEST repair service I have ever experienced. I will use them again and wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone needing appliances repaired.

A tenant's refrigerator was making a weird humming noise. I decided to call Bob because he was conveniently close by. I left a message for him on Friday along with a few other companies. Well, I went ahead and set up an appointment with another company set for Monday due to availability but they were charging me $15 for just coming out. Fortunately enough Bob called on Saturday morning and said that he could come out ASAP to take a look at the problem. He came out assessed the problem and was in and out. I was at work at the time so he called me on my cell phone to inform me that the work was completed. Seems like a plastic bag some how got tangled in the fan which caused the rubbing noise. I asked how much I owed him and he said that it was no charge. This really floored me. Bob is definitely my go to guy now.

Quick service, same day. Came with helper. Diagnosed problem in 5 minutes. Had part in car. Replaced in 10 minutes. Cleaned coils, adjusted leveling feet. Noticed dishwasher, removed and cleaned rotating arm. Only charged for fan.

He's very good at what he does. He is very fairly priced.

Bob arrived on time and examined the problem I was having with the ice maker. He spent a great deal of time diagnosing the problem and cleaning the refrigerator so that it was running better. He found that there was really nothing wrong with the existing ice maker and only charged me a trip charge. I was very impressed because I am sure that he could have told me that I needed a new ice maker and charged me hundreds of dollars that I didn't need to spend. I was very impressed with his professionalism and courteous manner. He was also very clean. I would highly recommend Bob to anyone in need of a repair to a large appliance.

The entire process was great. The professionalism, promptness, and the service was great. I called on a Friday morning and Bob made sure that someone was out here before noon. He understood that Saturday is laundry day and he does not want to inconvenience his customers. I could not be more pleased with the process.

He knew from our phone conversation exactly what was wrong with it, so he was prepared with the needed parts when he came to the house. Fixed it in a matter of minutes. Seemed pretty knowledgeable about all appliances in my house. Friendly guy.

The last time I had a problem with my dishwasher not filling up with water, when the repair man arrived, the dishwasher promptly worked (don't you hate that?), and I got charged $50 for the house call. By contrast, Bob was able to help me solve the problem by telephone, and he charged me nothing. As a result, I have great confidence in his integrity. He explained that sometimes if you don't click on the cycle at exactly the right spot, the intake valve is not engaged.

We recently purchased a double house as a rental. There were two washers and a dryer left by previous tenants. None of them worked. We asked Bob to come over and assess the appliances. He and Ed came and were able to repair the washers and the dryer. Bob also advised us that the hookup for one of the washers was leaking and had to be seen by a plumber. We took his advice, had the hookup repaired and contacted Bob. In the meantime, he found a matching dryer for the second washer, came over again cleaned all of the machines and set them all up on their concrete pads. All are working and we were able to rent out the apartments because they each had a washer and dryer. We thought that Bob was extremely knowledgeable, he and Ed were also very friendly. We were so impressed with their work that we put a clause in the lease stating that any repairs to the machines have to be done by Bob's Appliance Repair.

I was extremely happy with the service Bob provided in fixing my dryer. He returned my call promptly, provided input on whether I should repair or replace the dryer during the phone call. I scheduled an appointment for the following day. Bob showed up on time and fixed the problem which was a bad heating element. He thoroughly checked the rest of the dryer and found that the belt was cracked which he replaced. He also cleaned the lint passage or pipe. While Bob was here, he also provided valuable input regarding several other appliances. He was great and I would not hesitate to call him again.

Very satisfying experience. We have relatively new dryer, but figure these days it is usually cheaper to simply buy new in these situations. Not true. Bob and crew were very helpful and pleasant. They even gave the wife some tips on how to extend the life of the washer and dryer.

Really well. Bob was able to come soon after I called him. Once he got to my house it was no more than 15 minutes before he had the oven fixed. Bob is very personable and pleasant to deal with.

I was very, very impressed with his responsiveness to my initial inquiry. Due to the inevitable "phone tag" we both had to leave a few messages but he never failed to call me back and once I did speak to him he was very easy to work with because the only day I was available was Saturday. Excellent customer service.

The repair men were courteous and seemed knowledgeable. They squeezed me in because they were going to be in my neighborhood. I phoned them at 9 am on a Saturday, and they arrived by 10:30 am and fixed the dryer.
