Description of Work: I have used used them for many years on my commercial building my renter one of his employees was sick... late getting to the shop to open up. they left and said said we can no longer be of service to you. Called for the owner and received a phone call 3 days later from the secretary and said we can go back out but for double the service call. Horrible service. This was no fault of the owner or myself they should have been more understanding.

Description of Work: Replaced water heater

Description of Work: I called this company because they installed a new gas hot water heater very soon after we moved into our home in OH as they old one died. There was a home warranty we used that they warranty compnay sent A-1 Affordable Plumbing to replace the old one under the warranty. Fast forward 4 years when we have no hot water. I called this company as they installed the heater 4 years ago. A service call was promptly schedule & the plumbers arrived on time. They diagnosed a shut down due to a backlot of dust in an area of the heater. A style was installed which requres dilligent attention to keeping an area under the heater very clean and clear of dust --since the heater is in our basement, in the laundry room, this was a potentila problem from the start. We were never told the important of maintenace & cleaning or the specifics of what areas could be problematic. we were charged $195.00 for the cleaning & the heater was up & running again. Within 4 days of the service call, we were without hot water again. My son & husband worked to get the heater on again, using the trouble shooting infor in the owner's booklet. They were successful, but I still let A-1 know what had happened. I was told that they would need to see the unit when it was not working to properly diagnose the issue. Two days later, the heater went down again, this time on a Friday afternoon when we were expecting house guests for the weekend. I left msgs for them at the office Friday afternoon and Saturday AM, not knowing if anyone would call before Mon. We did get a call Sat. AM, but they would not come out again until Mon AM. The plumber arrived Monday AM much later than expected due to his previous call taking much longer than expected. At that point, he got the heater going again and ordered a new part for it under a recall warranty--meaning this was no charge to us as there had been identified continuing issues with this part on this model. I appreciated that, but choked when he said installation of the part would be $145.00. The part was promptly installed this AM, 3/17 and all seems to be well at this time. The plumber was professional and polite during his calls. Not having used a plumber for other problems since moving to the area, it did seem to me that the charges were more than soeone else may have charged. For $360.00, we were working on paying for a new heater. I did feel at a disadvantage since this company installed the heater and I felt we may have come out better using this company reather than startinf with someone completely new. I still am unhappy with the amount fo money we paid, especially since my husband lost his job in December and we didn't not have this money lying around.

Description of Work: They checked and saw there was a leak in the pipe that goes into the toilet tank. They put in a little pipe to fix the leak.

Description of Work: THESE GUYS CAME OUT TWICE, ONCE TO REPLACE OUR WATER HEATER AND ONCE TO REPLACE OLD AND LEAKING BALL VALVES.

Description of Work: I SMELLED SEWAGE IN MY BASEMENT BACK IN JANUARY. A-1 CAME OUT BUT COULD NOT REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY MADE NO SUGGESTIONS, BUT TOOK $65 FOR THE SERVICE CALL. IN APRIL, MY BASEMENT FLOODED. THEY CAME BACK OUT AND SNAKED THE DRAINS FROM INSIDE THE HOUSE. THEY CLAIM THE DRAINS WERE OPENED. MY BASEMENT FLOODED AGAIN LESS THAN 30 DAYS LATER. I CALLED, BUT THEIR RESPONSE WAS TOO SLOW. I CALLED THE CITY, AND THEY HAD TO BRING IN A JET TRUCK, BECAUSE THE BLOCKAGE WAS SO BAD. A-1 DID NOT STAND BY THEIR WORK, DID NOT REFUND MY MONEY, AND BLAMED ME FOR NOT ALLOWING THEM TO COME OUT AND SNAKE MY DRAINS AGAIN. I THREATENED TO REPORT THEM TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU AND THEY IGNORED ME. I AM DISGUSTED BY THIS COMPANY.

Description of Work: WE HAD JUST BOUGHT A HOUSE AND WE WERE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE KITCHEN SINK - THE FAUCET WAS DRIPPING. WE TRIED TO FIX THIS OURSELVES BUT WE CONTINUED TO GET DEBRIS IN THE LINES. A-1 WAS RECOMMENDED BY OUR HOME WARRANTY COMPANY. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND DISMANTLED THE FAUCET.
