Verne & Ellsworth Hann

this company installed a $6000 boiler for me a couple years ago, and while they were far from the low bidder, i went with them because i had heard they were the best in the city. That job went fine as far as quality went. But now recent repairs to the system did not, and i won't be calling them again if i can avoid it. Does $917 seem like a lot for a radiator valve and two traps? It does to me. They skimmed the 2 yr old boiler also, which was unnecessary as it turned out. The two traps may also have been unnecessary, as their replacement did not fix a non-heating radiator. Subsequent adjusting the slope of a basement return pipe did the trick. So the work was less than wonderful, but customer service was even worse, and was frankly unprofessional. It took several phone calls to finally get a repair man to the house. Several more calls never did not produce another visit needed to repair a leaking radiator pipe, and I got someone else to do it. I did not receive calls from them when promised, and received lame explanations for delays. Overrated, overpriced. Worst trade experience I've had in several years.

The job cost me $125, including the parts. They have a long history in my area. They came highly recommended by people around me. They were very familiar with what they were doing. They were very professional. They had excellent pricing, as compared to the other companies I had contacted. However, they took a long time to get back to me. Overall, I had a very good experience with them. I?d hire them back again.

I have no problem with anything except the price I was charged for the estimate.

Even though I have nothing to compare it to I feel like we get our moneys worth. They give you a time frame in which they will show up to your home and then call when they are on their way. They are very responsive to our needs and I have no complaints.

The plumber arrived as scheduled and completed the repair quickly. We have used V and E Hann for our plumbing repairs many times and have always been satisfied with their work.

It was a lot of money but it was worth it to get it done well and to get it done right. They are very responsible, they do very good work, and they do it when they say they will.

We have used Verne & Ellsworth Hann in the past and will certainly use them in the future as they do excellent work and are right in our neighborhood. However, for this job, their price came in several hundred dollars higher than the company we ended up going with, which also had a good reputation.

These guys were great!. The estimating by Chris gave us ideas about how to save money as well as considering doing both the A/C & furnace at the same time., He also showed us several options of different models to compare cost versu features. The quote was the best cost and we noticed they had a great Angie's List reputation. When they arrived to do the installation, they were very careful to cover all of the floors where they had to carry the equipment in and out ot the house. They cleaned up well every day. (The installation took 3 days) The owner (Chris) came out to visit and check on progress. The installation is neat and well plumbed. Even the county inspector mentioned that he thought the work was well done. I would certainly recommend them to ohters.

They were on time, very courteous, did a good job, and they cleaned up well. When I had a problem with my thermostat, they readjusted it promptly.

They told me they would not do anything different than others, but would charge $100.00 to come out.

It was pretty pricey but the guy who did the work was fantastic. I like the fact that they explain everything to me. They very reliable, they are always punctional, and all of the guys have been great.

This job took about two months because when we first bid the job the holidays were quickly approaching and then due to extremely cold weather in January and a personal emeergency with the company the job could not be done until early February when there was a warm-up. the house was without heat for three days due to the complexity of the job. Once things got started everything went according to plan, and we are completely happy with the new boiler and the performance we're getting from it, and we are very happy with the service we got both from Verne & Ellsworth Hann and Residential Asbestos Removal. We are fully anticipating our monthly gas budget to drop.

I was really happy with the work they did. They had a schedule and they arranged for the removal of the asbestos as they didn't do it themselves. The people who removed it were incredibly professional as well. They had our furnace up and running sooner than the dead line they gave us. We had gotten a couple of estimates and I am quite happy I picked Verne and Ellsworth Hann Inc. We have recommended them to other friends as well.

They were the best contractors that I have ever worked with.

This company does fairly standard work. The workers are pleasant but they aren't here very long. They're not too extraordinary but not bad either. I would use them again in the future.

We have a maintenance contract with them. The work was fine that they did for us. They have worked on our system for years. They were here when they said they would be.

It went well. We still have some issues with those things in our house, but there is only so much we can do if the house is over 100 years old. I will have to go on his word because of my knowledge for now.

They are very professional. They came early and on time. He explained what needed to be done and it was a good experience. He was very polite. The price was reasonable.

Returned my call promptly. Set up an appointment within a few days. Provided the estimate within a week of the initial appointment. Provided referrals for subcontractors for asbestos removal, which would be necessary before furnace replacement. We didn't have the work done at this time due to budgetary restraints, but will seriously consider using this company when we do have the work done.

Overall, it went well. They are very knowledgeable and was able to answer questions. However, we have decided to go with another company due to a lower cost and different furnace manufacturer, although their price was the highest of our 3 estimates by about $500, and didn't include the moving of our A/C unit outside.

It went very smoothly. Ernie came and took great care wit the neatness, listened carefully to my request, and smartly approached the problem and addressed it. He was resourceful, efficient, and nice to have around.

The plumber was very professional and explained things to us thoroughly. The company also helped us shop around for new parts and looked into sources we found ourselves that offered what we needed. They addressed our problem promptly and apparently replaced the old parts as soon as the new ones were available (we had to wait for them to be shipped to their shop). The area was clean and ready to go after the work was done. They also recommended and installed shut off valves for us in the access panel for the shower (it's an old house). We also received advice about our slow drain and the hazards of snaking old pipes. Overall, we were very satisfied with their very professional service.
