They are doing an excellent job and are very professional and friendly. I have used them for years and they have always been really good. I would highly recommend them.

They've been here 3 times and they were excellent, They were able to diagnose everything and fixed the problem, corrected everything with the hot water tank. They also put in a humidifier on my furnace.

The service was very good, excellent, i had them every year to check and maintain our furnace, They're very responsive, and very professional. The price quoted includes filter replacement and a weekend fee.

It's wonderful! They did a good job, one of the units failed on the 4th of July but when I called them on 5th of July they came right away and fixed it. the units failed because of it's mechanical not on the labor. They offered me free 1 year warranty, they always answer their phone and they know what they are doing.

We had two different people come out , one to fix burst pipe , other to install an electric combo HVAC wall unit. We’ve had a tough time lately finding people who respond and also then follow through. These guys were true to their word. Very pleased with the service received. Would recommend.

It was excellence. When we moved here , my husband was sick. He could not be home with all the noise. We stay with our son out of town. They're was great. They we used they since then. When we came back everything was in place and clean. They cover everything.

I had a furnace installed last year, and recently reached out to Chris Hann regarding follow up services that I thought were included with the purchase. He confirmed via email that I was correct, but when I tried to schedule the service, I was told it was not included. I mentioned that Chris had clearly confirmed it via email, and then got a voicemail back from him talking to me like I was an idiot for expecting him to follow through on what he agreed to via email. Apparently he misread my email, but instead of simply saying that he misread it and gave me incorrect info, he got a VERY nasty attitude and told me to go elsewhere for services - so that is what I will be doing, and suggest others do as well. When I submitted this complaint to them, Chris wrote back a largely inaccurate response making false claims against me, and I'm guessing he will do the same on this review. Luckily I kept his rude emails as proof.

They have done some plumbing, a/c and furnace tune up work for us. I will highly recommend them and continue to use them.

These guys have bailed me out of a jam more than once. We've used them for new ductwork, a new water heater, and most recently a new furnace and a/c. All in older homes where passing a Point of Sale inspection is a must (and they do with flying colors). They are professional, down-to-earth, and their price is always better than the competitors. Chris is easy to work with and never engages in high pressure sales tactics like some other big-name local HVAC companies. He explains the problem, lays out options, and gives his guidance on the best route to take. I still feel like I am making the decision after being educated versus being pushed into an over-priced solution or a scam of a service-plan. I love that I can trust VE&H and will continue using them for all things HVAC.

Greg from V & E Hann researched the issue and determined the solution. He needed to cut a hole in our basement ceiling to acces the old duct work that had been sealed by the previous contractor, determine where the new vent shoul be placed, cut a hole in the tilee floor of the halh bath and install the vent. Greg tarped everything before he started and cleaned up everything once he was done. The project went quickly and the total cost was less than the quote for the work.

V&E Hann responded to my internet inquiry for service for issue listed above. They were able to get me scheduled for a date/time convenient to my schedule. The gentleman I spoke with initially was up front above it their pricing structure which I found experience, but not a deal breaker. Technician arrived on time, very polite and professional. After evaluation of my system, it was determined I needed a part for the furnace. He did not have the part on hand and had to leave and return with it. With the part and service call, total mentioned as above with no surprises above the quoted price. I did find it somewhat disappointing that the time spent traveling to/fro for the part was included in my quote. Past that, the service went seamlessly and I would hire again.

Verne & Ellsworth Hann were very responsive from the start. We discussed the issue, and the person who took my call said up front what their pricing structure was: a flat fee of $90 to come out, plus $24 for every 15 minutes labor, and of course the cost of any parts needed. This would be more expensive than the other company, but since VEH is highly recommended and we were looking for a more professional second opinion, I said to go ahead and schedule for the late morning. I mentioned that I had something scheduled online for 1 pm, so it would be good to be done by then; she said she'd mention it to the tech as a goal. Then I got a call back within 10 minutes to offer me the first appointment of the day at 8 am, and took it. So great follow up there. The technician was prompt, courteous, and professional. He took the time to do a complete check of the system as well as to educate me on the meaning of the readings. He tested the temperature of the input and output air, and noticed it was about 5 degrees above the rated range; he made an adjustment to fan speed to help, and switched to a different kind of filter with better airflow, which between them got it into the correct range. (Since overheating had likely caused the issues in the first place, I really appreciate this. It's something the other guys didn't test for at all.) He also took a look outside to see the intake and output vents. The primary goal was to test for CO concentration; the other guys had told me there was a problem with the heat exchanger, but didn't cite any evidence. CO levels would be elevated (around 400 ppm) to show such an issue; VEH monitored them at around 10 ppm outside (not a concern) and not present inside (which is the way it should be). While he was out there, he mentioned the intake pipe was lower to the ground than it should be, so we should be sure that it doesn't get blocked by snow. It it does, that would mean the furnace couldn't draw enough outside air to burn, which could cause issues. He mentioned they could redo the piping, but I think I'll just keep an eye on it in heavy snow. We touched base about how big a temperature drop is ok overnight with the programmable thermostat (since obviously climbing back up the the desired temp during the day puts an extra load on the furnace) as well as a couple of other minor recommendations. Can you find someone to take a look for less money up front? Probably. But in my case, VEH knows their stuff and spending a bit more for a real professional to take a look was much cheaper in the long run than paying for a new furnace that we don't need. Can't recommend them highly enough. Money well spent!

It was a pleasure having Bruce from Verne & Ellsworth Hann perform my annual boiler tune up. I appreciate his honesty and patience in explaining the health of my old boiler.

We needed to replace our old boiler and Bill came out to give us a quote. He carefully examined the old boiler and piping, checked all the radiators in the house and came up with a replacement proposal. Then he explained to me two issues with the old boiler that other contractors did not notice or did not care to explain. The first was what's causing the rust in the boiler and how he was going to minimize the issue in the new system. The second was how he would re-pipe the kitchen loop so the kitchen would not be so cold. I also asked a few questions that I asked other contractors and he addressed each and every one of those. Although we received four bids that were comparable, we chose his company because he was knowledgeable, thoughtful and detailed. The work was scheduled and completed in two days a few weeks later by a great installer team - they were here on the day and time they said they would be, professional and courteous. Once the installation was completed, the new boiler and piping worked nicely without any issues and we now have a comfortable kitchen to dine in. I'd highly recommend them.

Verne & Ellsworth Hann installed a new Peerless boiler in my house in September. Their work was of the highest quality. I can strongly recommend Verne & Ellsworth Hann without reservation. As is the case with most homeowners in my shoes, I knew very little about boilers when I started to look for a replacement for the 40 year old boiler in my Shaker Heights home. It was a major investment. Choosing the right boiler was important and proper installation was critical. There were so many things that could go wrong. For these reasons, I was looking for a company and people that I could trust. I received quotes from several Cleveland companies, including Verne & Ellsworth Hann. I met with Bill Hann at my home. I toured the Verne & Ellsworth Hann facility in Cleveland Heights. I have 40 years of experience in lead roles for a major global tool manufacturer and I was impressed with all aspects of the Verne & Ellsworth Hann organization. Most importantly, Bill earned my trust. The removal of the old boiler, and the installation of the new boiler and new copper cold water return pipes in my basement took about three days. The Verne & Ellsworth Hann installation team was excellent. They were experienced. They arrived precisely on time every day. They explained every step of the process. They worked as a team. They treated my home with extreme care, as if it was their own. The new boiler works great and the installation is a thing of beauty. My radiators used to be very noisy, now they are much more quiet. Sometimes I miss the clanging noises, but every time I go into my basement, I smile. I now have a reliable, efficient system and I can leave town in the winter without worry. I don’t usually take the time to write recommendations, but in this case I am doing so because it is so well deserved.

The technician (Bruce) showed up exactly when scheduled, performed all the necessary work, including clean-up in a professional and efficient manner. He answered all my questions while he was working and gave me some good tips on maintaining my system between visits.

The repairman, Chris was great. He explained and showed me the broken part. He was efficient and went over and above to try and save me money.

We had a carbon monoxide problem. They were responsive, they were reasonable. They were professional, prompt and responsible.

They did a good job. I found them because our regular man who comes out happened to be in the hospital and he recommended someone else who was not available and we knew Vernellsworth had done some work years ago, so we called them. They had to get a man to come into open the ceilings more because they couldn't get into the pipes. That guy was good except, it's taken a h#** of a long time to come close them back. I like what they doing and how they're doing. So, my recommendation would be to make sure that he takes care of it right away. Vernell's part is done.
