Wimberg Landscaping

I am very disappointed. A company representative viewed my property on April 9, 2012. We walked around my lot (5 acres) and the lady gave me some excellent ways to improve/update the landscape. She told me she had worked with a number of clients recently that had the same predicament as me - updating the landscaping before they put their house on the market. After the 45 minutes or so that we walked around, she told me she had to send a plan to the estimator and I would get an answer regarding the estimate in 4 days. She called me approximately 3 weeks (or 21 days) later and said I should receive a quote in a short time. Nothing yet and it has been 38 days since she came out. In the meantime, I have hired a landscaper and a lawn maintenance company, and they are prompt, thorough and have some excellent ways to improve/update my property.

When contacted, they provided a quote quickly. They allowed us to write one check for the season and get a small pre-payment discount. The price was reasonable and mowing was done about once a week during the growing season though it was longer when it rained. They always did a nice job. We are planning to use them again.

Have been using Wimberg for 10+ years to mow my yard and occasionally for other landscaping projects or snow removal. I find them very reliable and responsive and they consistently have high standards. While not the cheapest option, they are very good.

Wimberg did everything they said they would do in a timely manner. I solicited three bids for the work and selected Wimberg based on follow-through, cost, and their description of the work to be done. Their personnel were easy to work with (primarily John Wimberg & Scott Wimberg) and the end result looks very good at this point. I had a few follow-up questions which they quickly answered and resolved. They actually return phone calls and emails.

They are just a very professional crew and I don't have any dislikes. They are very professional and they're landscaping services which is a different level than just mowing grass. It was done extremely well at a very reasonable cost.

The job went very well. My yard looks really nice. They did like a spring clean up. They sent two guys out. They were very nice. They worked very hard. My yard was not in a great shape. They cleaned out. It looked awesome when they were done. They mulched everything and pulled out the weeds. They trimmed up everything that needed to be trimmed. They cleaned up all the mess.

We have been using them for a year. They are good for lawn maintenance but for landscaping they are very expensive. We did use them for some landscaping and they did a good job but I will not use them again for landscaping. They will do what I want, it will look nice but it will be very expensive. The quality of their work is very good. They do a good job with the lawn. It is like $40 for a large yard every two weeks and the price is fine for me. One day they didn’t blow off the grass on the sidewalk and I called them and they were there within an hour and fixed it; so I think they are very cognizant of trying to do a good job and make the customers happy. The price was very reasonable for snow removal. We would continue to use them in the future.

When I was with an athletic club years ago in management, I contracted with them to do the commercial work there and was always pleased with them. We haven’t been billed. They gave us a written quote. They were terrific. They did everything the right way. They asked my opinion. They just didn’t jump in. They advised. They were prompt in delivery. They worked with me, and they tolerated my mother. The crew was polite. They were well dressed. They did an excellent job. They did it efficiently. They buzzed around and t done. They were courteous too. There was construction going on next door, and they moved their truck back. Overall, it was a professional group of people.

Called multiple times to try to arrange lawn care. Owner did not seem interested in my business. He acted like it would be a big effort to come to my location and acted like "Well whenever we might be in the area we might come by but cannot tell you when that might be" I felt like I was pulling teeth to get him to take my business. Poor customer service and not friendly at all. Will not pursue any further.

The work was propmpt and satisfactory. The workers were easy to talk to, and flexible.

Not all bushes were trimmed and they had to return to finish the job. We were partly at fault since we did not discuss in person but over the phone.

They were very good. They didn't leave a mess behind and the job turned out a little bit better than I expected. It was significantly above average, they more than met our expectations.

I didn't use them. I found somebody else. I didn't care for the man's attitude that came out. It didn't seem like he really wanted to be there. He didn't seem very helpful and their price was high. He was there on time.

They arrived on time, inspected the trees I was concerned about, and then walked the yard with me to point out potential problems or tree issues that might, in time, require attention. I got a mini-tutorial on tree care as he pointed out bad pruning jobs, signs of distress and other tree care issues. When I want to have professional work done to preserve a tree I care about, I definitely will call them. In this case, I just wanted to take down some "trash trees," so I went with another company, based solely on price, not expertise.

They respond to me in a timely fashion. They always take care of things without my having to call them repeatedly, which is nice. It is a trouble free service. They charge per visit.

I thought that their ideas were very artistic. I kind of just passed it over to the man who was doing the plan, everything that they have planted has lived. Even plants they put under the porch worked perfectly, everything was accurate and got enough sun and rain. They are all still blooming.

We have used Wimberg services for several years and are very satisfied. I can contact them for special requests and to confirm or change regular services. Their crews are friendly and very cooperative and their gardeners know their business.

Peter came to our home and was so nice. He really listened to what we wanted and sent us a detailed bid with a great drawing of what they wanted to do. We signed the contract and gave him a deposit. We hired the company based on our experience with him. Once we hired them, there was a total disconnect between him and the actual workers. He sent Renee' out to go over the job. Renee' was very nice but didn't quite grasp what we wanted. She explained she was going to send another person out to look at the window well portion of the job. They did not show up when they were suppose to. I called twice before he came out. Once the window well crew came out, they were very hesitant to perform the work because they didn't want to make the foundation leak worse. I could appreciate their concern but there did not seem to be a problem when Peter bid the job and when I sent them the deposit. When Renee' tried to mark the beds by using a coiled up hose, the hose would not straighten out so the markings were very asymmetrical. She had to leave to go to another appointment then return to our home with string and bamboo sticks. It seemed as if the project was a big challenge even before they got a real start. I called Peter and explained to him my concerns. He was so nice and offered to come out to mark the beds. I explained I would just rather be released from the contract and get my deposit back. He was very nice and promptly returned our deposit along with a letter stating we were released from the contract.

We use only Angie's List people. We had this little backyard that is a separate part cleaned out, removed some logs, leveled and graded it. We then had sod planted and had 1 tree and 2 bushes put in. It was wonderful.

I called into the company and explained what happened, so they sent a worker to my home thinking they were going to look at my patio. They fixed it right then and there on the spot. I received a bill from them a month later stating that I owed $165.00 for them coming out to fix our sinking patio. They are blaming our window well for sinking our patio.

Communication problems. Leader would say "no problem" to doing things, but they were not always done well.

Service on work completed well beyond my expectations. Work crews represented the company well. The entire experience was outstanding.

We did not contract with them, but I would another time.

John Wimberg returned my call promptly, viewed my lawn and called with an estimate within 24 hours. The service was provided soon thereafter. Our lawn was mowed twice and cost exactly what he said it would. No areas were missed and there was no clean up to be done.
