Wimberg Landscaping

It went really well! The tree crew who did the tree pruning did a wonderful job and they took down old, dead trees flawlessly - and completed the work in 1 day. We were very happy with the tree removal and pruning. The landscape crew was friendly, asked questions to clarify what we wanted, cleaned up and put away their tools each night. It was obvious they cared about the customer. A special shout out to Nate and Amanda in particular; they were nice and were great workers! First, a tremendous customer service story: Our front porch was rebuilt and replaced with Classicstone pavers, but the colors didn't match the colors we were shown and expected. We called as soon as we realized and insisted that they pull what they had just laid and re-install with a different color. The Wimberg designer, Julia, ensured that we the customer was satisfied, so she quickly provided us with actual pictures of three different pallets of pavers and allowed us to pick what we wanted (yes, she also gave a professional suggestion, too). The next day, the "bad" pavers were taken up and the "good" pavers re-installed! I was thoroughly impressed with the flexibility and the desire to satisfy the customer, even if it meant wasted time, effort and money that had to be re-done. I will be a lifetime customer - it reinforces why Wimberg has received the #1 landscaper award for the last several years. The rest of the job looks great, too! The selected boxwood shrubs and spruce trees look perfect - all similar shapes and sizes. The placing and positioning of new plantings followed our directions. As well, they nailed the final finishing touches: laying down a healthy amount of mulch, laying down seed and straw in the slightly damaged parts of the yard (even more than was expected), and cleaning up as if they'd never been there. We were very excited at the outcome and wholeheartedly recommend Wimberg. A couple footnotes worth mentioning: since they are in high demand, it may take some time to get to your job. Be patient and plan well in advance, they are worth the wait. Being a premium landscaper, they are not the cheapest; but if you're like me and willing to pay a premium price for premium quality and a high level of customer service, they are a great choice. It took a couple months from contract to scheduling, and all the jobs wrapped up within a 2-3 week timeframe. We were more than happy to wait until September for new plantings, so it worked out fine for us. We enjoy working with Julia; she is easy to work with and has a great customer-service orientation. She always responded promptly on nights and weekends to our emails, and followed through and did everything she said she would do. She is a huge asset to the Wimberg organization.

Good on the whole, missed a small patch of mowing 2nd visit, not a big deal, but took off a letter grade.

Hiring Wimberg Landscaping is one of the best decisions that we've ever made after purchasing our home. As noted above, we began our relationship with mowing services and we were thrilled with the results and experience. We kept adding more and more elements of our property maintenance needs over to their organization and today (three years later), we've completely oursourced our property and exterior lighting/irrigation to them. Their commitment to quality and service are top notch and the team handling our property is great to work with. John and Peter Wimberg have built an amazing team of professionals and we wouldn't think of going anywhere else. We've referred them to so many of our friends and family members in the area and if you are looking for a positive change, give Wimberg Landscaping a call.

They have to be less expensive. The affordable price would depend on what they do. If they are doing simply the opening and closing of the year for the irrigation system in northern climates, I think they should probably be $150. I think they are closer to two-hundred plus.

Installation went well- staff worked hard and was professional. They problem occurred a month later when large dead spots appeared in half the front yard. We had followed care instructions to a tee and there was really great rain in May and June so I called Wimberg to come look at the yard. I was given to John who then came a couple of weeks later to look at the yard. He said he did not think it was an insect problem but rather, a fungus which the sod farm said they have been having a problem with. He told me they had just installed another yard a week earlier which looked just like mine. He did not think our sod would recover. When I asked them about repairing the yard (which now looked far worse than our original lawn) he said they would be happy to do it but it would not be free- they would charge for any new work. He said Wimberg would only guarantee the sod to be green the day it was installed. So, I paid over $2300 for sod that was dead in half my yard in less than a month and a half and even though I had nothing to do with the failure (the sod clearly carried the fungus when it was installed) I am faced with paying even more to fix it or re-seed myself...right back to where I started in less than a few months except for being $2300+ poorer. I will never use this company again because they don't stand behind their product. If the lawn is only guaranteed for one day, then they have no confidence in the product they provide.

I was very satisfied with everything that they did. They showed up when they were supposed to. They installed the system and it’s worked perfectly since then. There were no problems. They are reputable.

First let me start with the positives then I will go on. Was in a rush last winter to find a service before the spring so I called a few companies. Wimberg was the most professional and did get back to me. Gave me estimate for services and I said OK at the time I thought it was a little pricey but we do have a big hill and I was going to give them a shot to earn my yearly business. Once service started was very happy with the weekly cuttings. They were very reliable on cutting and did a great job and fast cleanup. I chose to do organic fertilize because we have dogs and wanted the grass stronger and healthier. I would not waste my money on that again. Do not know if it was the company or just organic is not as good. They did cut our invisible fence line twice but came out and fixed it for no charge and were fast. That was great. As I noted above I had my thoughts that I was being charged a lot. I was not able to maintain my landscaping very well this past summer and had a couple companies come out to quote me on getting the beds back in shape as we were getting married in the fall. I had 3 estimates. While doing this I price compared grass cutting prices. Wimberg was miles above other quotes. As I eluded to above we have 3 dogs. They can put a beating on the grass as one is 150lbs and the other 60 the toy poodle doesn't really worry me haha. I had Mike early in the spring come out and give me a quote on repair. He gave me the price and I signed the contract. Well they didn't come out till the very end of season. To late for sod in my opinion. It did not really have time to grow in before weather got bad. To top it off they didn't do the job as estimated. So I had to call them to come back out to point out places they missed. Whoever told the guys what to do was not thorough and they winged it. Well I got nabbed for a bill over double what was in the contract because they stated they did a little extra work. It was a small patch that they asked me if I wanted fixed but to charge me more then what the whole job was originally quoted and at a fraction of the size pushed me to not hire them back. The workers themselves were great. The business is pricey compared to others. Organic fertilizer did nothing and just sat on top of the grass. The guy who did my estimates was not good to work with.

We were not happy with their work. One issue was the quality of the plants. We think it was not very satisfactory. They planted very tiny plants. They don’t have any height at all. Secondly, the main purpose of doing that was to provide some screen in the backyard from the neighbor. It didn’t achieve that purpose at all. We had to go and plant some more. The height of the trees was the issue because we thought we were getting enough screening from that. The shrubs and some of the other planting they did were extremely small. I complained about that, but it didn’t do any good. Their punctuality was pretty good. The people who did the work were professional, but the landscaper we dealt with was a tough one to call.

Terrible company with terrible service. Had them mow my lawn and they constantly failed to edge, missed spots, showing up days late. I would not trust them to serve me fries at mcdonalds

I love the dependability of Wimberg. They do a fine job with the lawn. I am now also using them for bed maintenance (weeds etc) and used them for spring cleaning where they did weeds, trimming pruning, removing dead plants, planting new. All of the employees have been great to work with friendly and so helpful. The yard is looking good and I am really enjoying how responsive to our needs they are and how they offer help and suggestions. They are a little more on the pricey side but the service is outstanding.

Even though I sensed the work would have been done thoroughly and professionally, the estimate was higher than I had expected. I would however consider using them in the future for smaller jobs.

I began using Wimberg five years ago. At that time we had a mowing service, but for various reasons the rest of our front yard beds and our wooded rear yard had gotten away from us.That first spring Wimberg removed several very old overgrown bushes and did a good deal of replacement plantings of smaller bushes and ornamental plants.The work was excellent and our yard looked wonderful again. In subsequent years,the crews have hardscapped in the backyard, installing a dry stone creek bed to improve drainage, installing a paver step and constructing a flagstone area around a firepit.. All work has been done efficiently with quality materials. Under my current contract, the mowing has been started, fertilizer applied and spring cleanup completed. All work has been done in a timely manner, no messes left behind. The crews are personable, hardworking and efficient. And they are responsive to suggestions and requests. In the years of having Wimberg care for our property, I have never failed to be satisfied. (Wimberg also offers winter snow removal. I have not used that service yet, although I may well do so in the future.)

They have done a good job so far. Their price is reasonable compared to others. The people are courteous and they are very efficient. Out of all the ones, they were the quickest one to handle our situation. They came right away and gave me an estimate. They walked through the yard and I described what I wanted. They seemed to be really good. I have a huge yard. The woman who did the estimate was very pleasant. They had a good presentation and they got right back to me. They asked me what I wanted and told me all the different things that they could do. They were open to anything different than what they were saying.

This experience was extremely disappointing. It started after I decided to go with them for the work prior to agreeing they were very helpful and did a great job in sales. Once the deposit check was provided it was like I was no longer important however after complaining and stating I would take my business elsewhere they decided to abide by what they had indicated for the lead time and perform the work in the timeframe agreed upon. Then once they came to do the work after the 1st day things were fine however the work should have only taken one day so when they returned on the 2nd day they had to finish all the work left in 2 hours. They did however it was terrible everything was just thrown in like my 12 year old had complete it and all the mulch was all over the sidewalks the landscape rocks etc. There were areas that were suppose to be lowered (removal of extra soil) but they didn't they just threw mulch on it. There was edging on the right side of my house as agreed either. I will say I called and complained and they did send someone back out to fix it which most of it was but I was still disappointed that I had to call to state these issues and they refused to let me speak to the owner. I will also say my sidewalk and driveway are still covered with the mess and when they returned they stated someone would be back out that day to resolve it but they never came so I still have a lot to do to finish it. Lastly, I would say read and make sure all details are included in your contract before you sign as I feel when I met with the designer it was clear what needed to happen and for the price I thought it was a good deal but it turns out I very much overpaid. I also feel I was not informed well enough on the maternity of the plants & flowers (seedling size) I would be getting as they were very small and tiny so the landscaping looks very underwhelming. Perhaps in many years it will mature and I will be happier but I needed to voice my concerns with the unprofessional service and support I received from this company and would not have them back to service my yard or landscaping as I don't have time to walk them through everything or force them to abide by the terms they set.

The staff was very professional. Julia came out to make an assessment and give a quote, and was very responsive and professional. As well, she visited the site during the yard cleanup to ensure that all was in line with what we discussed.

They are reliable and professional. They do a good job.

They were great! Very accommodating. They lent us tree planters and only had us pay for the plants. They trimmed them and made them look very nice.

No follow up, no bid, nothing!

They are reliable and they've addressed the issues I had. Like when they didn't do something right they corrected it the next time. It's a little pricey, but they are very reliable. They are very high on professionalism. I will use them again next winter.

They are great. The yard looks amazing when they get done. They are quick and professional. During the hot summer months they would actually drive by the yard each week to determine if the lawn needed cut or not. If it didn't need it, they came back again the following week. I have them auto-charge my credit card and then they bill me monthly. The billing has always been accurate and this way it is hassle free.

They have exceeded our expectations in every respect. For starters, they do the work for less than our previous service: $48/week as opposed to $76/week. (For this entry, we estimated the annual cost.) Second, they are more thorough, carefully mowing around our curved beds, even between shrubs, and leaving the walks and drives immaculate. Third, they take the time to move items we have negligently left on the lawn (e.g., planters, bins, hoses, lawn furniture), rather than just mowing around them. Fourth, they are careful about our pets. And finally, as a bonus, they have edged the beds, making our yard look better than ever. Had we known, we would have switched to Wimberg years ago.
