They were prompt in responding with the estimate and had the best product and price. Scheduling the work took about 6 weeks and I was not notified of when they were starting. This posed a problem with the residents the morning the noised started. The work, however, went smoothly from then on. They were neat and cleaned up. When I asked to have the spotlights repositioned, the supervisor responded and agreed immediately. I am very pleased with the work they did and would recommend this company

They were very professional on the phone, the rep was timely and informative. It did take a few weeks to have someone come out, but they did. Any questions I had were answered promptly. They really strive to make their customers happy and satisfied.

We specifically wanted to replace our damaged 3 tab shingle roof with dimensional shingles and wanted an estimate. They would not give us an estimate and insisted that we should sign a blank contract and give them the phone number of our insurance company so that they could tell the insurance company what we needed (this didn't include the dimensional shingles even though we were explicit about this). We refused to give them the number of our insurance company which had been nothing, but accommodating and had already issued us the initial payment for our roof. We also refused to sign a blank contract. Overall, this seemed like a scam to get more money out of an already cooperative insurance company.

WE FOUND THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE THIS ISSUE WAS TO NEGOTIATE DIRECTLY WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY ON BEHALF OF THE CUSTOMER BY USING A STANDARD CONTRACT THAT INSURANCE COMPANIES ARE COMFORTABLE USING. IT IS CALLED A “SUBJECT TO INSURANCE COMPANY SETTLEMENT” AGREEMENT (“SUBJECT-TO”.) THIS IS THE “OPEN-ENDED” CONTRACT SHE REFERS TO. THIS CONTRACT ALLOWS THE CONTRACTOR TO WORK DIRECTLY WITH THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND SETTLE THE CLAIM (BOTH SCOPE AND PRICE,) FOR THE CUSTOMER. Horrible. A company rep came out and gave a quote. We agreed and he said it would be 2 weeks. A month and a half later, a different company performed the work for half the price, with no word from Zero Tec.

I called and left messages with 5 different companies to come and do temporary, emergency repairs to roof and siding. The Zero Company was the only company to return my call. They were at my house to do patch work about 5 days later. Due to the volume of emergency calls they were getting, it took them a couple of weeks to come out to give an estimate on the actual replacement work. Once I signed the agreement it took them an additional 4 weeks to actually tear off / replace roof and siding. They worked with the insurance company so I didn't have to hassle with that. I was O.K. with all the time frames because I knew they were swamped. The only thing I can say that was a small problem was they used a company from" out of town - but in their network" to do my job. There was some minimal damage done to my property while the crew from out of town was doing the work. The Zero company was quick to respond to my concerns and reimbursed me for the damage done by the other company. Also I felt the other company left quite a mess once they were finished. Again the Zero Company was quick to address this concern and said that replacing a roof is a messy job. However, as my neighbors are having their roofs replaced I am comparing the amount of mess they are left with and what I had and theirs is nothing like the mess left on my property. Again, I am happy with the Zero Company and their customer service. I would use them again but I would hope that I could actually get their company to do the work and not an "out of state company who is in their network".
Description of Work: After the wind storm in October they came and patched roof and siding that was damaged in storm. They then came out several weeks later to give an estimate to tear off and replace the entire roof and replace siding on one side of the house. I then used them to do the work.

When the above repairs were being performed, one of the workers stated that there was extensive damage to the roof and that we might need to replace the entire roof. He said a more senior employee would come to assess the roof and give us an estimate. They never came. I called their office 3 times over the next several weeks and no one ever showed up to give an estimate. I called 2 other roofers, both of whom came to assess the damage and said the repairs could be done and there was no need to replace the roof.
Description of Work: We had a lot of shingles blow off during a severe windstorm. They assessed the damage, replaced as many shingles as they could (we had some extras from when the house was built), and patched the remaining areas to prevent leaks until the remaining materials could be obtained.

They were prompt in all their meetings, from my first appointment until the final cleanup. Trying to get someone to replace the Yankee gutters had been a little tedious, as most salesman wanted to pass the buck, and wait for an installer to come and give another look. The man from Zero explained straightaway what would be done, how they would do it. When I asked what factors may not be included in the estimate, he quickly replied that rotted wood underneath the roof would be the only additional charge (which he doubted, and there wasn't). The work did take a couple months to get started, but once begun, everything was done quickly and cleanly. They explained any problems they had, stuck to their estimate within 3%, and did almost everything they said they would. The only thing they did not complete was checking the downspout exit into the ground for clogging, which it is and I have had to reroute, but to be fair I didn't call them to fix it and just did it myself. Altogether I think that I paid about 5% more than average for the job, but got top quality workmanship and prompt customer service all the way. I am satisfied with the work completely.
Description of Work: Replaced shingle roof and installed gutter system. Difficulties: The roof is at an extreme pitch, the house is on a downhill plot (4 stories at the back), the gutters were Yankee gutters (part of the exterior wall), the alley on each side are about 6 feet wide. They removed two former layers of shingles and both old chimneys that had been closed off. They removed the Yankee gutter system, replaced the spacing with wood cut to fit the gap in the exterior, covered it with flashing, and installed gutters and downspouts.

WHILE WE ARE HAPPY THAT THIS CUSTOMER WAS ABLE TO FIND A ROOFER TO PERFORM HER REPAIRS QUICKLY AND INEXPENSIVELY, WE THINK HER COMMENTS ARE NOT FAIR BASED ON THE SITUATION. WE ARE STILL RECEIVING CALLS REQUESTING REPAIRS 5 WEEKS AFTER THE STORM AND ARE TOLD WE ARE ONE OF THE FEW ROOFERS WHO IS ACTUALLY ANSWERING OUR PHONE AND TAKING ON NEW CUSTOMERS. When they came to give the estimate, they got up on the roof and took pictures. They sweep debris off the roof which was causing problems. This was all done before we even gave them the okay. I really liked that they didn't place a dumpster in our driveway. They hauled the debris away on a daily basis in a dump truck. They were very good about cleaning up, no debris left. I would recommend them.
Description of Work: They did a complete tear off and put on a new roof. In addition, they did a lot of extra work including replacement boards that had rotted and did not charge extra for this work.

The experience was very good. Everyone was very cooperative and they had quick responses. I would hire them again in the future and recommend them to others as well.

I have used this company for the past eight years because they are one of the few companies who can work on box gutters. They provide the craftsmanship that my house needs to maintain it's appearance.
Description of Work: I had them replace a portion of our large roof. They put a new roof on our back roof and our high back roof. They also replaced the copper gutters in our box gutters.

It went very well. They were the only roofing company that would schedule an appointment to come out and give an estimate. The other companies said that they would just call us when they could get someone to come out. The person was helpful, explained what caused the problem, and he was able to complete the work quickly and on time.
Description of Work: They fixed a leak on my chimney. They also tightened my gutters.
