Tecta America Zero Company LLC

After 2 weeks of a request, these guys finally came out. The technician was early, did not call me when he was on his way, did not call me when he got there. My roommate called me to tell me some guy was outside. Since he was so early, I had not arrived yet. He ended up being there for only about 10 minutes, and left before I could get there to show him what needed to be done. When they did finally call me, they told me that if they were able to do the roof, I would have to wait about 5 months before they could start, and then emailed me an estimate of 23-27 K which more than was twice as much as the next most expensive estimate. This is what they sent me: "thank you for inviting to review your facility and submit our recommendations. Unfortunately we will have to decline the opportunity to partner with you on this project. Due to our heavy production schedule we are booked solid into October, which does not accommodate your schedule. With respect to cost of replacement for budgeting purposes, a complete tear-off of all sections, going back with R=20 insulating values, a fully adhered .060 EPDM membrane, new gutter and a 20 year warranty would fall in the in the $23,500.00 to $27,000.00 range (excluding any deteriorated deck repairs / replacement, or permit costs.) Additionally, any water that would migrate into the new system due to deteriorated brick/mortar, compromised window framing, or other structural deficiencies would NOT be covered under any warranty provisions." Funny thing is, I have no "deck", and the roof does not touch any window at any point. So I guess they just wanted to make sure I knew their warranty was worthless? Also, they are the only company that has told me I needed a "complete tear off". Now I know why every other contractor that has come out before them is higher rated on Angies List. But, at least they came out! Not recomended

The estimator was excellent. He gave us a thorough report. The quote was competitive and the scheduling plan met our needs. However, the job itself started well after the planned completion date, the workers came intermittently for a couple of hours and days apart without any communication about plans to return, I had to reach out multiple times to ask for updates and to confirm aspects of the work and to get photographs. We had Tecta America do a previous job, a small roof replacement with box gutters, and that job was excellent - the main reason we hired them again. While the outcome this time seems like very good quality, I was disappointed with the length the job took despite fine weather for most of the month and the lack of information without multiple prompts. We accepted their quote on Aug 20. They said the work would be done by early Sept. The job was completed on Sept 26. I received the invoice on Oct 13. I received the photos documenting the completed work on October 18. I recommend Tecta for the quality of their work but I strongly suggest that customers ask for clarity about the duration of the job and how intermittent the work might be and set expectations about updates regarding the work.

I didn't end up using his services because what I was looking for was not one of the services he provided. Very nice. Very responsive. Very helpful. Seemed like someone you would want to do business with since he was honest and helpful. Refreshing in today's world. Thanks, Mike!

They're not going to be able to do it because of the distance. They don't really work on this area. They did it because I'm a prior customer but I need to find someone locally. Everything went really well. They did a good job. Correction: Company can do job of gutters if needed.

The work was completed promptly using shingle materials left over from my last repair job. I am a satisfied customer.

I paid what I believe to be a higher than normal price because I believed the service and quality would reflect the cost. That is, I expected high quality workmanship, materials, and cleanup. They did not live up to this expectation. Drain pipes (coming off the gutters) were installed with a bend in them when they easily could have been straight with just a little effort. The downspot and pipe were crimped together in a way that was not appealing...instead of a nice clean joint it looks like the pipe was not sized right to fit the downspot. I provided very simple suggestions but these all seemed new to the company. Such as having the right sized down spot to match the pipe. Crimping them 90 degrees from how they were in order to be more appealing. Using a different type of connection. In all cases I showed the company my neighbors installation but they literally didn't want to compare against them. I was told it didn't matter what my neighbor's installation looked like. To me it does. I live in a nice neighborhood and think the house and all things about it should reflect this. There were other misc elements I had to ask them to fix. Finally they had clearly broken pieces of existing yard drain inlets in order to make their down pipes fit. Not only did this look very rough, poor quality, they left the broken pieces on the ground. I have pictures to support all of these statements. In the end I should simply not have paid for the service but nonetheless I did.

They got it done very quickly, we needed someone to come out right away and they were very responsive. They got there in the morning and got it done.

It took them just a day to do the work. The cleanup was great. I asked them to save the chimney bricks to match my older home's exterior. They did a great job to clean the mortar from the bricks and stacking them up in my garage. The yard was left in great shape too. One section of the apron blew off and I called them; they were out within two hours to put it back in place. They also let me pay off the work over a period of three months, which I really loved.

Tecta was a great company. Easy to work with. Mike did the estimate and explained everything clearly. He explained the techniques used in the industry, the techniques used and the warranty. All contact I had with the company was positve to say the least. They men performing the work were professional and friendly and did a great job. They also cleaned up after they were done. They scheduled and performed the work promptly. The pricing was definitely competitive and any money I could have saved was worth paying to deal with Tecta (not to mention a great warranty and responsive staff). Overall A+.

Spoke with Mike and he gave a quote and showed me the options to choose from. There were plenty of options and he worked hard to bring down the price from the original quote. The installers did a good job and Mike worked with me on payments to be affordable. We are now rehabbing a building in Over the Rhine and Tecta is doing the metal roof, the membrane roof, and the gutters and downspouts on this one also. I have also used them to do some repair on my personal home also.

We had encountered hail damage to our house. First when the company representative had come out and spoke to me, he had mentioned they use a certain brand of siding (Charter Oak by Alside) and gave me a brochure on it. He gave me an initial quote for the new vinyl siding, shutters, gutters, and downspouts. Then he came out and all the products were picked out which included Charter Oak vinyl siding. The final quote was given at $3,000 more than the original quote which was a big shock and very upsetting. How could somone be so far off from their initial quote? When I questioned about the $3,000 difference, he said the quote was originally priced for their basic siding which is less expensive. Nothing was ever said about this basic siding. This product was never mentioned before and why did he say they used a certain brand and then in the quote base it on another product. This started in May and got the final quote in August. They haven't done any work for us. It sounded all good at the beginning and what he could do for me and then it went downhill. This company was referred to me by my insurance company and I will probably be contacting them to let them know what happened so someone else won?t go through the same thing.

I cannot say enough AMAZING things about Tecta America Zero! They are the best providers I have encountered in a very long time. Not only do they respond very quickly, but the estimates they give are understandable and very fair. Unlike other companies that make you wait weeks before they will even give you a quote, Tecta America Zero is on it! The work is done quickly and the representatives are kind, knowledgeable and have a great sense of humor. Mike Morris and Tim Carter have demonstrated unbelievable professionalism and I will recommend them to everyone.

We contacted several roofing companies, and most told us about the same thing. When the representative from Tecta America Zero Co. came he told us about other problems on the roof that needed attention. He seem interested in doing what was important for us to have a roof that would last us a life time. Others seem interested in getting work for themselves. When we finally decided to go ahead with the reroof, we were given a day they would start. They started on time, and took only about a day and a half to complete the roofing part of the job. Two day later, the gutter installers came and they took less than a day to do the work. During the whole job the superviser met with me about any problems. All in all the job went smoothly. I would recommend them if you are looking for a quality job.

We found Tecta on Angie's list and a few other providers. We contacted a few companies and got estimates. We decided to go with Tecta because of the professionalism of their sales rep and their estimate was not the highest nor the lowest, so we felt safe with them. We are very happy with the outcome! Looks 1000% improved. Our home is over 100 years old and the soffit and facia were badly weather damaged and past painting. Everyone is very impressed with how wonderful it makes our house look. We have a friend who is an architect and he commented on what a nice job they did in the details. The lead guy doing the work was Tom. He and his crews worked in grueling heat on a third-story house with 30' peaks and yet they did excellent work. Thanks Tom and all the guys who worked on our place! We love to come home to the new and improved appearance of our home! You guys did a great job!

Zero great company please use them.Affordable Painting subcontractor is not advisable to use this disreputable company. Affordable Paint was paid $9000.00 for exterior paint of siding, gutters and trim & $6000.00 for interior.We learned once Scott of Affordable Painting has your check, you will never hear from him again.No matter what Scott promises he will do nothing and not return to finish or get crew member to return stolen shirt neighbor saw Steve leave with.

The job went very smoothly and we had a new roof on our sprawling ranch faster than we had anticipated.

I contacted Tecta America to do some repair work to my rooftop balcony. I got an estimate, and they worked with my insurance company to explain the work and charges. They were very professional and helpful up until this point. When it came time for them to send the paper work for me to sign to begin work, I never heard back from them. I emailed and got a response saying they would email it to me. I never got the paperwork, i emailed a few more times with no response. I gave up after that and started looking for someone else.

After years of roofing and gutter service performed for my by this company, I know these workers.. They did a great job as usual and I will definitely call them again. The day of the repair we had another hard rain and the downspout held - no more flooding!

They took much longer than they should have. They came highly recommended by Angie's list. These guys drove me crazy for a year and a half. They were difficult. I had to get on the roof more than once to take pictures and show them what they needed to fix after they said they had fixed it. They didn't clean up after themselves. They left trash everywhere. They communicated poorly. I would be happy to forward all of the emails to Angie's list. You had a really high rating for them and that's why I chose them. They refused to fix things that they messed up. It said in the review that they didn't use contract workers and they did use contract workers. They didn't have the right materials.

I haven’t had anything done yet. I think it was the best quote that I got. He gave me separate quotes for each side and the total was about $5300. We had an operation in the family right after he gave the quote. I got busy with that and then my daughter got married. They were fine. I was impressed with their salesman and their price. Their price was pretty comparable to the other ones.

Horrible. I wouldn't use them because you cannot trust what they say and they give inflated estimates.

Mike, gave us an original estimate, and the employee, Ed, was very concern about being sure time work was completed promptly. Excellent work!

Mike came out on August 18,2011 and as of the date of this report Nov 23,2011 I have not received a bid for any work. Why waste my time and his. I got the impression from the beginning that he was interested to land the "big job" and when he found out it wasn't then he just went through the motions!!!!!

They installed the skylights and corrected the issues we had from the time the last roofer installed the roof on the five units. In all it was a great job.
