Description of Work: We have 2 skylights which let the summer heat into our family room. We had already installed shades on the vertical windows to allow us to control heat from those sources. We felt tinting, rather than shades, was more practical for skylights. |Based on recommendations from others, we called SolarTint on August 9 to get an estimate. They agreed to come out at 8:30 AM the next day. The estimator called early on the 10th to say she couldn't make it in the morning, but asked if she could drop by late that afternoon on her way home from work. She arrived promptly, and reviewed the geography of our family room. She recommended a specific grade of tinting to filter out the rays which provide the most sun damage and discomfort, and that it be installed on the interior face of the skylight, to prevent it from being damaged by the elements. She assured us that the height of the skylights (about 12') was not an issue. This took less than a half hour. | |Later that week she called to schedule the work for the following Wednesday. While I wasn't here, my wife says they were prompt and did the work quickly. It looks good, and the heat input is noticeably reduced. It's been there for only 3 weeks. However, the experience of others convinces me that it will have a long-lasting positive impact on the comfort of that room.

Description of Work: We have a huge plate glass window in the back of our house, topped by a large arched window. The oddly-shaped arched window cannot be covered with a blind, and I did not want to put curtains over the upper window, but the morning sun was killing us as it beat through the upper window. Solar Tint came to my house and provided samples of window film for the window, and also gave me an estimate. After viewing the samples from two other companies, I selected Solar Tint. They came out and installed the window film I had chosen (opaque white), and solved my morning sun problem. The window film blends in with the room, blocking the direct glare of the sun but still letting in plenty of indirect light. Installers were clean and professional. The only thing I wish they had done differently was during installation, they sprayed the window film with some sort of soap mixture and got it on the furniture below. They told me it wouldn't harm my furniture, which it didn't, but I still has some residue on the wood furniture that I had to wipe off. They should bring a drop cloth and cover any furniture. This was really a minor problem, and I am very happy with the installation, product quality, and service I received.

The installation went flawlessly just as explained and we can tell no change in the clarity of the windows.

 + -1 moreThey were very neat and cleaned up after themselves. They were able to schedule the appointment arond our schedule. They did a pretty good job and showed up when they said they would. I'd say they did a pretty good job, but it is pricey.
Description of Work: Solar Tint installed a combination UV and solar tinit protective film on all the windows and doors. It also had a limited security feature on it making hard to break or enter.

 + -1 moreVery pleasant on the phone and quoted a price ahead of time, which was the actual price. They have a drop off for after hours that could be more secure, you just throw your keys through a slot in the back garage door I would have liked a little more explanation of how this worked - of course I just assumed that it was like other drop boxes in that there would be a formed envelope and a sign to indicate where the drop was.
Description of Work: The rear window had the old tinting removed and new tinting put on.

This time, we had the whole back of the house which faces the west completed. Crew was very knowledgeable and polite in both cases. Fantastic job on the installation. Very pleased and would highly recommend them.
