Pickens Windows Service

The installer was very professional and knowledgable. The job went very smoothly and quick. You cannot tell that a repair had taken place and all of the old materials were removed. Pickens was recommended to us and we did not get another quote because the price was OK and time was a factor. The price seemed a little high to me but it could actually be very competitive.

They recommended somebody else to do a portion of the work and I did hire that person. Pickens Windows Service was very good during the quoting process. They were great and very professional. I really liked them because they were able to tell me what they couldn’t do as well as what they could do. They helped me out very much. I will use them in the future.

We were surprised that it did not blow the frame out of the building and they did a great job of repairing and replacing it. They scheduled when they would be there for the estimate and for the repair. They had to come back because the screen needed to be replaced instead of repaired and they scheduled when they would be back. They showed up when they said they would and the price was good. We were really impressed with them actually. We spent a total of about $750 on that service. The windows had one of the expanded aluminum security screens on it that had holes blown in the screen and they repaired that screen because it was going be more to replace it and given the situation we did not want to replace it. They saved us $400 by repairing the screen instead of replacing it.

This has potential to be messy work, yet everything looked great at the end of the job. We had to do no painting. I highly recommend this company.

As stated above, Pickens obviously screwed up this order and refused to stand by their work.

Once I have the windows serviced and repaired I'll post how that went.

It was there busy season so it took a couple of weeks but it was done when they said it would be.

Repair was done on site. The technician, Gary, explained everything he was doing and showed a high level of of expertise. He removed the windows and the cranks and slides. He had replacements in the truck and quickly replaced the windows with the new parts. Very professional job, area was left clean, orderly and we received tips on taking care of the cranks and slides. We would definetly recommend them and use them again.

Good. Gary came when scheduled, took the old balance out and put in new one. Then he checked to make sure it went up and down correctly and locked, cleaned up and off he went. I was very happy to find this company as I had been searching in Angie's list and came up with a bunch of window companies but not window repair. As far as the price goes, there is a flat trip charge and they charge labor in half hour increments. He could have done two windows in that time frame so you have to keep that in mind when evaluating the price. I thought it was fair indeed.

Our windows would not stay up. We had six windows repaired for a total cost of $250.00, which i think is very expensive. The repairman was very late, we did not receive a call from Picken's, advising us of the delay. Once he arrived on the scene, he was very professional and knowledgeable.

Serviceman showed up on time and assessed the repairs needed. He replaced two ropes in windows that had broken ropes. For the three back/top windows with broken ropes, he suggested securing them with screws rather than replacing the ropes. This saved me a lot of money and the solution was fine with me as we don't ever lower the top windows. He was here less than an hour. It is wonderful to have all of the windows in our house functional again!

He came out quickly and did a good job. The price was fair, and the work turned out fine. I would rate them highly and would use them again in the future if necessary.

Ed is very professional and the team always arrives on time. The team of 3 sets to work immediately. The owner, Ed Sr., and his son, Ed Jr. work outside. And one person, a woman, works inside. The windows really shine. I think the cost is reasonable for the amount of work required. They're also very careful with the vegetation outside. I can highly recommend Pickens. They've been cleaning our windows for years. They came highly recommended.

They came and gave me an estimate and returned 2 weeks later with all the repair pairs and fixed the windows and sliding glass door--other option would have been several $1000's more--replacing windows.

Worker was polite, professional, and efficient. He did an excellent job.

It was a good experience. It was about 10 days until they were able to come out. They showed up promptly and fixed it quickly and without any complications. I have used them in the past, and have always been satisfied and I was also satisfied this time.

Did just that, and brought a piece of the “thick” that didn't fit as a gauge. They gave us a piece of the next size down to try. It was perfect. Went back and had them cut the length needed, and it now fits like a glove. Their offer of the test sample was very considerate

I'm pleased with the repair but the price was a little high.

Several double hung windows did not operate properly - one came smashing down on my finger 6 months ago, resulting in a trip to the ER. Two were stuck and I could not get them open. After reading the reviews here, decided to give Pickens a try. Called Pickens on a Thursday, the lady I spoke to was very nice and was able to schedule me for the following Monday, with an understanding of a 30-min heads up call so I could get home to meet them. Monday morning they called between 8 and 8:30, as promised, to confirm the appointment. Then I received the call at 12:15 pm that they were on their way. He showed up at 12:35, took a look at ALL my windows (20+), explained the problem spots and got to work. He was done and gone by 1:30. All my windows work properly and he lubricated the ones that needed it. I am pleased with the price and the speediness. One small beef - it would have been nice if he wore shoe covers - he was going in and out of the house to get parts and brought in some dirt. But - I am a clean freak, so take this with a grain of salt! :) Overall, very good experience, and I am ecstatic that I do not have to spend $$$$ on new windows!

They offered to come out and install it if I had trouble, I was able to get it. They are great to get parts for your windows and doors or even service them. Their prices are good.

They had to figure out a more efficient and less expensive way to rescreen my porch due to the way it is constructed. It looks very nice now and much better than it did with big holes in it! They were very reliable. When they said they were coming, they came. They worked very well and quickly.

Receptionist took detailed information and gave me a time and job number. They called the morning of the appointment to confirm the time window. They provided a 30-minute notification call and arrived at the beginning of the time window. The technicians addressed the window repairs that were feasible very quickly and left everything clean and tidy. They saved me time by having the right hardware and skills.

You pay for what you get, they are a bit pricey. I was very satisfied with them, and will use them again.

They did a wonderful job. I'm not aware of any company that repairs windows like this. I thought I was going to have to have them replaced.
