He came out yesterday and took at it, and said it didn’t need replaced since it was still in good condition. He went ahead and performed a cleaning and got it ready for winter. He said I could get my refund back through Angie’s List. He was very honest, very professional, and I was very pleased with his services. I would use him again!

I called the owner, Mark, on Sunday at 7 a.m. because we had no heat in the house. It was an emergency! Mark showed up at 7:45 and went to work for the next hour and a half. He repaired two items on the furnace and only charged me 85.00. I love it that someone can fix things instead of replacing everything. Turns out that Mark is a third generation HVAC guy, following in his father and grandfather's footsteps. He Is very knowledgeable. I have used Mark for 6-plus years, and he will continue to be one only HVAC company we use. I refer him to everyone I know.

Mark arrived promptly on the day and time we scheduled and immediately got to work. My furnace was kicking on and then shutting off so I was not getting heat. I was not aware that there were batteries in the thermostat until Mark showed me and replaced them. He then checked, cleaned, and serviced the furnace. He cleaned up every visible speck of dust and dirt when he was done. My furnace is now running like new. I can't believe how quickly and efficiently he got the job done. I will definitely use this company again.

It couldn't have gone better. The owner arrived right on time and got right to work. He did a full diagnosis and discovered that the gas valve wasn't opening. He ordered the part, and meticulously cleaned everything up before leaving. He returned a few days later to complete the repair. As it happened, I had to be somewhere else when he was to come over so I left the door unlocked and he let himself in. He had just finished by the time I got home. The insert was put back together and everything was cleaned up. You couldn't tell the insert had just been worked on. The owner is very pleasant and polite and it was a pleasure to have him in the house. I use him on my regular furnace, and he's very knowledgeable there, of course. Actually, he's a third-generation heating and air guy, so you're not going to find anyone more knowledgeable, I don't believe. It's in his blood, you could say.

It was a pleasure to have Mark in our home. Mark is the most honest and knowledgeble Heating and Cooling experts I have met. We had one of our systems that was 13 plus years old and needed to be replaced. He came over gave us a couple quotes and sat down to explain them to us.We had received other quotes for a 13 SER and 14 SER system. By explaining how the more expensive system, would not be much more effective because of the intermitant usage, he saved us a lot of money. Mark also stressed the importance of the system's air-flow. He said "you can have the most efficient AC or furnace money can buy, but if your system was designed incorrectly wth poor air flow, all the efficiencies are ineffective." He revamped our system's supply and return to make it much more effective even with the lower 13 SER system. Mark did the work on time, in budget and cleaned up very well after himself. I would not have known he had been there except now the A/C was back on. Thanks for an awesome job.

I purchased The Big Deal to have my air conditioning unit inspected & cleaned. Mark promptly contacted me through email and then later by phone. The entire process was great. Mark was a joy to work with. He inspected and cleaned the inside and outside units of the a.c., and answered all the questions I had about the system. Mark was professional and knowledgeable in his work and at the same time very friendly and engaging. I will definitely have Mark return to keep my heating and cooling units running efficiently. I recommend Mark Murtland without any hesitation.

Mark called after receiving the order on Angie's list then again on the day of the service to tell me that he would be here in about 30 minutes. He arrived on time and introduced himself. Before coming in he put on his protective booties, then went to work. He started out checking the indoor HVAC unit. He took all service panels off, tightened the connections, checked for cleanliness, checked the filters, and checked the drainage line. He replaced all panels, cleaned up, then went outside to check the compressor. He did a thorough cleaning, checked and tightened the electrical connections, and tested the refrigerant pressures. Then he came back in to check the sir temperature. Throughout the entire inspection Mark was friendly and explained what he was doing. I would use him again. The only reason I gave him a B on the price is because he charged an additional $85 on top of the $49 I paid for the Angie's List Big Deal. I'm not sure if I missed that in the fine print somewhere, but I wasn't expecting to pay any more. He even said he was new to Angie's List, and didn't realize I had already paid for the big deal through the list. I didn't argue with the price due to the good service, but he and Angie's List need to communicate to figure out the money part. UPDATE: About a week after Mark performed my inspection, he called me back regarding the Angie's List Big Deal that I used. He admitted that he misunderstood the Big Deal and refunded the additional $85 that he mistakenly charged me. Along with the excellent service that Mark provided, and the fact that he caught his mistake with Angie's List, I would definitely recommend and use Mark for any future heating and cooling needs I might have.

We decided to convert our kitchen to gas and remove the electric range. I contacted Mark on Thursday, 7 Feb, 2012 and asked if he could come and do an estimate for us. He told me that he was on the way to another job, but could stop on his way and give an estimate. Only 20 minutes later he was at the front door ! He was very thorough and walked the basement, measuring and making notes. He asked a few questions about where the stove would be located and such. After talking to him, he said that he would do an estimate for me that day, but had to leave to take care of his previous appointment. I appreciated that he thought of his other customer, but in no way put me on the back burner (pun intended). A few hours later he called and gave me an estimate of $285 and after several previous estimates from other Big Name companies, I decided to give him the job. I explained to him that we had to get the range this weekend and asked when he could come to do the work. He replied on Tuesday 12 Feb, 2013 of the next week at 11:30. At a few minutes before the appointment, he was knocking on the door and ready to work. THAT'S WHAT SERVICE IS ALL ABOUT ! On time and ready to do the job. He was very careful about removing the 220 wires from the main box for the old range and left them in a way they could be used again for anyone else. He then measured, cut, drilled, threaded and did all things necessary to complete the task. He had all the tools and all the equipment he needed and obviously he thought the job out before he came. (ANOTHER PLUS). After installing and testing for leaks, he hooked the new gas range up and made sure that all the functions were working properly. I will use Mark from now on for any of my heating and AC needs. He is polite, very knowledgeable and very customer oriented. He is in business by himself and really puts all those big name Heating and AC guys to shame. First rate all the way.

I have used Mark before on my current residnece, and found him to be thorough, professional and reasonably priced. His pricing may pleasantly surprise you.

When I got the gas line inspected, the shut off valve was in the wrong place; Mark came back and fixed it right away and reconnected my fire place. The fire place was very difficult to drill through to install the piping but Mark kept at it until the job was complete, and he honored his original quote. I would highly recommend him for the installation of gas lines. I plan to use him to bring gas lines to a back bedroom; I know he'll do a good job at a good price.
