Mower Mobile Maintenance

I got the routine maintenance completed on my mowers including the oil, filters and sharpening. Unfortunately, they failed to address the primary issues I called on them to address. The primary complaint on the White Outdoor tractor was that the belt transferring power from the engine to the mower deck was making a flapping sound and would come off regularly. Eventually, one of the pulleys came off entirely. On a follow up house call after the problem continued after the tractor was returned, the mechanic noted that the pulley was just pressed onto the spindle and not well secured by the manufacturer (No more MTD products for me). He added a washer to better secure it. This keeps the pulley on okay but, did not address the problem of the belt making flapping noises and falling off. The same company had replaced this belt in 2012 and it seemed to work fine until Spring of 2013. I was charged for the follow up house call after it had been in their shop for the three weeks previous without addressing the primary complaint. The mechanic pretty much threw his arms up in helplessness when the belt continued to fall off. He was unable or unwilling to do anything more about this problem. The tractor is now in the hands of an authorized White Outdoor service provider so, I'm without the tractor again and paying, again, for the same repairs. When they first brought the tractor back, I had them pick up my Toro push mower. It has had a problem with stalling out when going up more than minor inclines or when the front end is tilted up to be moved without mowing. Again, I got the standard maintenance package completed with oil, filters and sharpening. When I picked up the mower and brought it home, it has the exact same problem. The primary complaint, again, was not addressed. I suppose these folks are okay if all you need is your oil changed or your blades sharpened. Don't count on them for anything more complex.

Tom knew his mowers and fixed it - I wasn't watching so I have no other details.

I contacted them via their website to request service. I receive an email response within 24 hours telling me when I could expect a projected service date (during a busy time of the year for them.) I received the notification of my scheduled service date on the promised timing. They called the day before to confirm the time of arrival. They arrived during the promised window, performed the service and left my lawn mower looking like new. I have no way to transport my mower, so I'm very happy that this service is available. They did a great job and I will use them again.

It went great. In my opinion they are the best.

It's important to mention they have serviced this mower several times which included changing the belt and sharpening the blades. Last year they improperly installed the belt and had to return and put on a new one. They also charged me for sharpening the blades but added they couldn't get one of them off so they would need to bring it to the shop next time and heat the blade to remove it. So I called in the above service request and Dianne asks me if I have the belt number - remember they've changed my belt multiple times in the past and should have these records. Since i did not have the belt number she said they would have to order one after they got it to the shop. One week later I called to check on my mower because my grass was getting extremely high and was informed it was not complete because they had to order a belt and new blades. i reminded them i only requested sharpening and stated that the mower was cutting fine prior to picking it up. They then stated one of the blades were bent which I questioned as well. The mower was returned a few days later with a $430.00 invoice. I find that ridiculously high and would point to them adding things to the invoice that were not requested such as new blades. I should also point out that I am not one to typically complain about a product or service but in this case I went to a neighbor who also uses Mobile Mower Maintenance and when i mentioned my story they had a similar experience and said they will not use them again. My purpose in joining Angie's List is to find a respectable replacement to do my repair. Unfortunately i was only able to cut my grass two times since paying the $430 invoice and my mower is down again. I would strongly encourage anyone considering Mobile Mower Maintenance to request a written quote before allowing them to do any work.

My mower didn't work. I called the office and they scheduled a time and sent the tech the next day. When I came home after work on the second day, I found my mower works!

Was not able to contact them by phone initially as they had phone problems but they responded promply to my email and gave me an estimate of the work and some things to check out. It is a busy time of year for them and it took a couple of weeks from contact to appointment date. I left the mower out for them and they started right way and were finished very quickly.

Excellent- was convenient but the cost did run a little high

Great! It was so easy -- we had our appt. date and we left our mower outiside that day and they came and tuned it up. Left a bill in the mailbox. We wil use them again next year for sure!

They probably assumed that the zip code (which was 13 miles from their own main address...yes, thirteen) was a minority neighborhood, and decided not to serve...which is their prerogative, however...had they done their homework, they would have realized that it's a neighborhood who's average home value price is $450K and is situated just west of Woodlawn. I right this review to let others know how this business makes it's decisions...which probably is a good indication on the level of honest reliable service they would have performed on my riding mower.

Very satisfied. Diane answered my call and gave me things to check on my mower that was not running. After I checked these things, it still didn't run and she got someone out the very next day to diagnose and fix the problem. Excellent customer services and the guys gave me good insight into the issues. Other companies I called required that I bring my mower in to them and they would, at a minimum, be required to perform a complete tune-up in addition to fixing what I asked them to. Mower Mobile Maintenance's ability to come to me was very important, too.

The system (Bolens) was idling rough. The fellow on services on their mobile truck at the 75.00 price. The mower was still idling extremely rough, they took it to the shop and the main mechanic fixed my carburetor and gave me excellent advice. Because of him, I would use the service again.

We have used this company for 5 years, we used to load up the riding mower and take it every year to another place to be serviced. It is great to have them come to your home and service. It was a little pricey this year because of both mowers.

Went very well. Equipment was parked on the side of the road, nothing on private property. Area was clean after they left.

Have used this company for over 10 years; can't beat them for convenience, punctuality, professionalism. Yes, it hurts to pay this much every year for routine service, but as I can't, nor do I plan on, ever learning how to do this myself, it's worth the price. (Nor can I lift it to get into my car to take to a cheaper service.) They perform the service in their service truck right on your street; get the mower even if you're not home; if it's raining, I tell them I left it in garage; they return it with bill attached, which I usually pay via credit card over phone. For return customers, they send me a reminder notice every spring, with a tentative appointment date; you call to confirm; kudos to everyone I've spoken to over the years; they've always been very nice, helpful, and professional.

The techs arrived on time and were very professional in carrying out their duties. It was raining so they completed in our garage what they could do there. The rain stopped and they took the mower to their vehicle in the street to complete the maintenance. The rain started up again but they waited until it stopped before bringing the mover back so that it didn't get rained on. They even disposed of the remaining gasoline in my can from the previous season. I was very satisfied with their work and the convenience of the service.

I would give them an A for everything.

This was the first time I've used a "mobile" service provider. I requested service late November so I didn't have to deal with the spring rush. They make an unpleasant thing as pleasant as possible and cleaning the equipment was a nice surprise. Diane explained the costs before the work was completed and they left the old parts. They were honest and did a great job.

Use them if you're close and have issues where travel costs or issues are lower.

The owner of the company was experienced in some of the specific problems of this mower and was able to pre-order the parts in order to make the repair in on visit,smart and efficiant. Some of the other companies I contacted did not want to deal with this. The mechanic was good at his job and got it fixed.

I have used this company for the past three years and have found them to be both extremely professional and an above average value.

It went fine, mower runs great now and cuts the grass better. I thought it was a little pricey but liked the convenience of them coming to my home rather than me lugging it to somewhere.

He was professional, responsive and punctual. He came over to my house to do the repair which was convenient. His pricing was fair and the quality of his work was good.

I was surprised when I walked out to see if they had arrived yet. I looked underneath the mower and they had already fixed it and left. I was very pleased.

They did the routine maintenance and sharpened the blades in spring. Later something died on the machine and so I called them. They came and fixed it. They are very good. The lady who attends the calls is very good. They always answer my calls. They have fixed my lawn mower and it is nice that I don?t have to haul it around. I leave in my front yard or driveway and they will come to my house and do the maintenance. My kids mow the lawn and they wait till the grass is too high to do it. They are hard on the machine.
