Description of Work: Rick fully repaired the workings of the underside of the antique table. He then fully sanded what was left of the old stain, restained it to its natural color, and finished it with a lacquer. It now looks like new, and is ready to go for many years to come.

Description of Work: My husband and I bought a bedroom suite circa 1930.Overall the furniture was in good shape, but the foot board for the bed had a crack on one side.The previous owners had tried to repair it, but the repair was unsightly and structurally unsound.We just picked it up from having Rick repair it,and I can't even tell where it was damaged. He did a phenomenal job, taking the time to explain what he had done and what materials he used.He also cleaned up some white areas that had been caused by water getting on the wood. Rick stands by his work. He told us if we had any problems at all with the repair he would redo it at no cost.

Description of Work: Rick Metz performed an excellent restoration of our almost 50 year old maple dinette set (one table, two leafs and four chairs). He disassembled each of the wobbly chairs, removed all the old glue and reassembled them. He also refinished the backs of each chair as well as the edge of the table and both leafs. On the chairs he also touched up the bases and the seats. The entire set was returned in a condition I never would have imagined; beautiful and with unimagined depth of the wood grain that was previously not noticeable. We are going to get a bid from him to redo our 35 year old oak kitchen cabinets; can't wait to get that project started.

 + 0 moreRick came to our home and gave us an estimate. We thought it was a bit high at first but as we got other estimates it turned out he was in the same range as everyone else. We liked him the best though and viewing his website we saw he really knew what he was doing. We hired him and it took him about a week before he was able to pick everything up and then about a month to refinish and return them. They are beautiful now. Visitors to our home cannot believe they are the same pieces as before.
Description of Work: We had several pieces of antique furniture we needed refinished and he came highly recommended. We saw some of the custom made furniture on his website and I bought a piece as an anniversary present.
