I have used them before and I am fine with them. I think they did an overall good job.

The gas line was hooked up, as requested. NIC came out to inspect the work, and failed us, because we did not have a temporary pressure gauge on the line to confirm that the line was holding pressure and that there were no leaks. Pat came back out and put the gauge on, and NIC will come back out to inspect today. Duke will also do their own pressure check before hanging the gas meter and turning the gas on. The water line to the refrigerator's ice maker was also hooked up at the same time. They were nice enough to put a shutoff in the basement laundry for that line as well, knowing that I would not want to drag the refrigerator across the wood floors to get at the shutoff behind the refrigerator in the event we need to shut the water off. Very thoughtful and foresighted.

Mark got the drain and vent installed. It was a challenge due to joists being in the way. The inspector came back out the next day, and the work passed inspection. For the supply lines, Mark also hooked those up. He ran the lines through the basement, and I was disappointed he ran them below the joists, instead of through the joists, as I will now have to drop the ceiling when I finish the basement. However, there was not an easy path through the joists, and I am sure he was sick of drilling them after the day before. In the process, he snagged a power line (14/2 NM). I gave him some new cable, and he reran the electrical line. The master bath hook up was OK, but not quite what I was looking for. I wanted a shutoff in the basement, that did not get installed. I wanted 3/4" supply lines all the way to where the shower tees off from the sink and toilet back down to 1/2". Rather than using the 3/4" x 1/2" x 1/2" tee I provided, Mark reduced from 3/4" back down to 1/2" and reused the old 1/2" tees that were already in place, which reduced the flow the 3/4" was supposed to provide. I was disappointed in this, since we had talked about it, and the drywall guys were coming the next day, and there was not time to fix it. Had I been paying more attention, I should have noticed these issues before they happened, and prevented these issues.

The night before a crew was to come to install a kitchen granite countertop, a shut -off valve for the water filtration system failed. It had to be repaired before the installation could be started. After frantically scrambling around to find a plumber who could come out on short notice, the next day I found Kelly Plumbing who would be able to show up. Another reason I zeroed in on them is because they were located in the same part of town. I had them go into the house when no one was at home. The job was perfomed just right, and the granite crew was then able to start their work. An unexpected benefit was that they replaced the original valve with a better quality product. That permitted the water to flow a lot faster and normally than it had before.

They showed up on on and made quick work of the project. They were in and out and did a nice job.

The worker was pleasant and knowledgeable, he got the old one out and the new one in quickly.

The plumber came out the first day and I didn't have the right type of faucet...he charged me a minimal fee to come out the next week, while I got the correct parts. He made sure that I understood exactly what I needed and was apologetic that he couldn't perform the service...even though I was the one who bought the wrong thing!

I have used Kelly in the past. I did not like their rates but otherwise they are okay. They have a price list. If you have a certain drain cleaned then it is so much. If they are already here and you have something else, they still refer to the price list. I found it arbitrary. I found the price for the drain clean and replacement parts expensive but my daughter could not help me at the time, I needed it done, so I had them do it. They did come promptly, they have definite, reasonably fair pricing, and did the job well. They clean up nicely after themselves.

They seemed very responsive. When I called them, they told they will get there in a short time. They tend to send the same people. I know the guy who comes here. He comes always. They make an effort to come when I need them. They seem to know what they are doing. They are very professional. They were recommended by a neighbor who was a long time resident.

Pat Kelly and his employees were fantastic to work with. I just bought my first house and it needed a fair amount of work, including plumbing stuff. When Pat came to give me an estimate, we went through each item on my list; he did a lot of explaining of what was really wrong, so that I as the homeowner could understand what he would be replacing or repairing. He was very honest about which things were essential to fix and which were less important so that I could prioritize. His price was very fair, and the final bill was exactly what the estimate had been. I never felt like I was being sold a service that I might not need; instead, he would offer his advice on the different ways to approach a problem, and then we would figure out what would work best for my particular situation. As a smaller company, Pat Kelly is quick to respond for both estimates and scheduling work; and Pat himself is easy to reach if you need to discuss something as the work is being done. He was at the house frequently to assess the work being done over the 2 1/2 days. I will definitely be calling Pat Kelly for any future plumbing work; it's comforting as a new homeowner to know that I have a plumbing company I can trust.

They always do an excellent job. They clean up after themselves. They are courteous, knowledgeable and personable. They make sure that I understand what needs to be done, why and how before they do the job.

They came to evaluate and gave me a prompt estimate. They scheduled a return time so that they would have the right equipment with them. The job took about three hours. The final price was below the estimate they gave. They were especially courteous and neat. They were pleasant. They looked at other issues and gave me some advice and options. They made suggestions for things that I could do myself. They evaluated a leaking shower, with concerns of needing to replace the pan. They gave me options about grouting and other things I could do to avoid that cost. They came out another time when there were odors leaking up from the sewer line. They told me it may need to be snaked. When they came they advised me and kind of supervised me perhaps putting hot water down there or different things to avoid charging me for those things. They didn't even charge me for the trip out there to help me.

After hiring Kelly Plumbing for one job, we hired them for an additional job. Maggie was very helpful on the phone. Larry was very personable, professional and efficient. He paid good attention to detail, cleaning joints prior to fluxing, wiping excess solder off the joints, ensuring the right slopes on the installed pipe and securing the new pipe with hangers. He cleaned up all debris after completing job. Having done a little bit of plumbing work on occasion, I appreciate this kind of professionalism.

The project went quick and painless. I called in the morning, they worked around our schedule and the plumber showed up shortly after my wife and I got home. He went straight to work and had our drain unclogged in a matter of minutes. With the exception of hurting my "mister fix it man-hood" it was the most painless process I've had in a long time!

We were not sure when the plumber was coming and he took a bit longer than expected to arrive. This job took a long time to perform, too, because of the tight spaces under this particular pedestal sink. He did an excellent job and left everything clean and in place. We received no estimate in advance. The cost seemed reasonable but more than we expected up front. (Cost of installation was almost equal to the cost of the faucet set itself.)

The entire process went well. The repairman arrived on time and with all needed equipment. He explained thoroughly what damage had been done to the floor and discussed some long-term options in addition to the immediate repair. Once he started working on repairing the floor flange on the toilet, he completed the work carefully (spending over 1.0 hour) and cleaned up well. His follow-up comments, recommendations, and estimate that I requested were all clear and knowledgeable. At the end of the service call, he did not inform me about the cost of the work; however, a bill arrived by mail within a week and it was quite reasonable. I would definitely use this company in the future.

Unfortunately, I decided not to use them based on a small price difference. I wish I had because the owner was very responsive to the estimating process and he really was knowledgeable about various plumbing techniques to incorporate in an old house retrofit. I know I would have been able to trust him and his work much better than I have had with the plumbers I eventually went with. Kelly Plumbing is a great company with a very conscientious owner. I plan to hire them for auxiliary plumbing jobs that we will have once the major renovation is complete.
