Description of Work: My house filled up with smoke when I lit a fire. They came out and cleaned fireplace and discovered a racoon had built a nest at the top. Recommended a pest removal service that got rid of it who was very good. they also gave me a proposal to upgrade my fireplace screen etc. very nice good professional knowledgeable workers and company.

Description of Work: I last used Karl Mattes Co at the beginning of 2013 to reflash around both of my chimneys. They removed one section of one of my chimneys, re tuckpointed it, recapped it. The other chimney they retuckpointed and rebuilt half of it and recapped it. They also removed a hatch I had through the roof.

Description of Work: The employee came to my house when expected. He was ready to do the cleaning I thought was necessary i.e. equipment, helper. By examining the chimney, he assured me the fireplace was safe. He lit the gas fireplace for me and all was well. He charged me the minimum that he had to for a visit. I appreciated his honesty.

Description of Work: examined my chimney for any issues and checked that the cap was secure. We have had a bat in our bedroom and wanted to make sure the chimney was not the entrance point. He also did a light cleaning, but told me the chimney was in excellent condition and quite clean, so it didn't need any further work.
