The work turned out just fine and we were happy with the service.

I called to receive an estimate to repair chimney flashing, and my phone call was actually answered on the weekend, which was a nice surprise. The lady who i spoke with was very kind and professional and scheduled an estimate right then. They called to confirm my appointment the day before, and came out on time. 2-3 days later, a clearly written estimate arrived in the mail. I called two other contractors for estimates. One was not very professional, and one never called back. Great experience with Mattes.

Two sevice people showed up on time and they performed the requested sevice. They were polite and informative, and they cleaned up after themselves. They also informed me of some minor chimney problems to keep an eye on. I'm very happy with the overall experience.

Called for an estimate and it would take 6 weeks till they could come out. That was ok as we expected it. Once he came out he did a thorough estimate and told my hubby that it was a small job and they could probably fit it in between other jobs. Well, we had to first sign off approval of the quote but there was no way by doing that the receptionist would know of the agreemeent between the two 'men' and the basic time for a job was now 6-8 from the 'back of the line'. I had to keep calling the receptionist to remind her of the special 'deal'. The second time I reminded her was a charm. The next day I got a call from Karl saying his crew could come over that Saturday to do the work. They showed up on time and completed it all to spec. No problems. Because of their workload and poor communications I don't think I would use them but the quality of the work, the price, and the ower himself was all just great.

He spent a lot of time talking to me about my garage. He was professional and responsive.

Once the job was scheduled, it went very well. My only complaints were 1) the job was not scheduled until two months after I had signed the contract, and only after I called to ask about the delay; and 2) the service person was chewing tobacco, and spit on my concrete driveway during the course of a conversation, hence the "B" rating for professionalism.

Early one morning, we heard water dripping from our closet ceiling. We checked Angie's List and found the highly-rated Karl Mattes Company. In addition to it's rating, the company's responsiveness was key. While the word we got upon calling was that the company was really busy, we were also told an effort would be made to get someone to help us that day. Soon thereafter, we received a call telling us Karl would be out some time that morning. Just before noon, he called to tell us he was on his way. We were very impressed by the quick service.

The entire job went well enough that we wrote Mr. Mattes a letter complimenting the crew. We wish that all jobs could be handled this well. Really, there is nothing that we would offer as suggestions for improvement.

We had this company install our new roof a couple of years ago. They did a fantastic job. After a recent storm, we saw what we thought was a missing shingle. I called the office and asked them to send Dave out to check the shingle since a rain storm was on it's way. Dave called back right away and came over to check the roof. It turned out that everything was fine. It made me feel great to know that there was not a problem. It also made me feel great that Dave responded so fast. This company is awesome. They take pride in their work and they don't forget you after the job is finished. They want to make sure the customer is happy. Dave is fantastic about taking care of his customers.

They came out and gave me an estimate first, and did the job efficiently after I gave them the contract. They told me when I could expect them to come, and they arrived on time. The quality of work was very good. They were professional and their responsiveness was excellent. I picked them because they had excellent ratings on Angie's List, and they lived up to what I expected. I give them high ratings on all counts and will use their services in the future.

I am very pleased with the work, the stone looks like new. They were very professional, explained what they were doing and cleaned up after they were finished.

I was impressed with Karl Mattes. He thoroughly inspected the roof for problems and gave us a good explanation of what he recommended. He came with his crew on the day they did the work to make sure they understood what needed to be done.

I phoned them up, made the appointment, changed the appointment, they arrived, did the work and left.

Great, they showed up quicker than expected. They had told me 4 to 5 days, and they were there in 2. I was very impressed. I did not have to be here for the work. They came, did the job, and sent me a bill. Very easy. Would definitely recommend them to others.

Mr. Mattes was on time, professional and explained what he had done to fix my problem. He did not attempt to sell me a new roof and stated that his caulking should fix the problem I was having. Needless to say, I'm thrilled and his company will be the first/only one I call next time I have a problem.

They did a great job, and the vent from the furnace to the chimney looks better than it did before. Problem solved. We also had them replace the false chimney extension on the roof and fix flashing to prevent rain damage to the roof.

They arrived 2 days before their estimate. He was ready to go and wasted no time in starting and finishing. I wish all companies would be this professional.

This company was good at keeping the appointment time for reviewing the job however... they do not return phone calls. When I had the tuckpointing job done, I had to call and call to get the job scheduled. For the flu-liner, it has been over a month since they came to look at my chimney, I called to ask where their quote was. Every time I call this company, all they say is they are taking a message. No one ever contacts me, my quote doesn't show up in the mail. I thought the tuckpointing job was just an off thing for them having so much trouble, but now with the second job, I know it just must be the way they do business. I would never call them again to bid on a job. Why should I have to call and call when they should want my business.

My house is 30 years old and it's built into the side of a hill. It shifted and cracked a few bricks. I called this company to replace the broken bricks and they did excellent work for me. They were professional and polite. They really went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of and satisfied. They were also very friendly about making sure they didn't inconvenience me. I was very pleased with them and I would recommend them to anyone.

Excellent. I was scheduled withing a week of my call. The crew (2 people) arrived on time, performed the work, cleaned up and finished in less than one hour.

The technician was punctual and courteous. He was very clean, leaving no mess for us to clean up afterward. He completely cleaned our fireplace and chimney and inspected the chimney from the roof and inside the house. We were very satisfied with the service and will use this company again. In fact, we had an unexpected obligation which kept us from the house until about 12:00. Our appointment was between 11:00 and 1:00. We called to make sure this would not be a problem and the company was happy to oblige by putting us towards the end of our time slot.

It went extremely well. They listened to my concerns about the problems. The workers were very informative. They cleaned up any mess. They were on time. They were friendly.

Did excellent work and he was very professional. He was a little expensive, but he was top notch. He did amazing work. His roofing work is very beautiful, I liked it a lot.

They quoted us about $215 for the service, however we have not received a bill yet. They were on time and did a good job. They cleaned up well. They are sending a bill, which is convenient. They were very easy to work with. I would use them again in the future and would recommend them to others.

They did a great job, the workers were very personable and professional. The only difficulty I had was in getting Mr. Mattes to come out and give us an estimate.
