Jonathan Anderson Custom Painting

It went great. I would absolutely recommend them. I didn't pay anything other than the cost of the deal. He got all the work done in one day. We weren't in a big hurry to get it done so the time in which he was available to come out wasn't a big issue.

Jonathan was very responsive, returning calls promptly about scheduling. Scheduling was flexible and so easy! Jonathan and Royal arrived on time and got right to work. They carefully prepped the work area to ensure their safety (lots of ladder work!) and my entry way floor. I had some nail pops and holes. These were well repaired. Two coats of paint were applied. Walls look great! Jonathan and Royal are professional and kind. I enjoyed having them in my home and look forward to working with them again. (Thank you both!)

They provided paint suggestions to cover oil that was there during a pre paint visit.They were very professional with scheduling and arrived on time. They worked some additional time at no additional charge to make sure the job was done right and they were very good painters. They cleaned up well and before they left. What else can you ask for. Excellent deal and we plan on using them again.

This deal went. They were punctual and did a great job of clean up. I would use them again in the future.

Jonathan says that he was known first of all as an artist, and the label fits him perfectly. While we didn't need the breathtaking work that Jonathan is capable of providing (be sure to ask him to show you his portfolio), he proved that painting a kitchen can produce a work of art as certainly as putting a mural on a museum wall. We have two (very high!) skylights in the kitchen. Jonathan and Royal worked on those with the same precision and attention to detail as they did in the rest of room. He went back over every inch of the walls to make sure that flaws (ones that we would never have noticed) were finished perfectly. He didn't bother to watch the clock, but assured that every minute that he and Royal spent on the job was productive. Jonathan is not only a great worker; he's also a delightful and interesting human being. When the time comes to have something else in our house painted, I'll definitely hire him again. I would enjoy simply being in his company again as much as watching him transform a room. He was respectful of my husband's and my wishes, while offering helpful suggestions to accomplish what we wanted. I can't think of anything that was lacking in his work ethic and professionalism. He gave us more than we asked for in terms of time and skill during the whole process. The two men even cleaned up with remarkable efficiency and proficiency. We're more than satisfied with the work they both did.

Jonathon and his partner came in and did an excellent painting job for us. The original deal was $199 for 8 hours of labor but we held him over for an additional 4 hours of labor (2 men x 6 hours) to get done what we wanted accomplished. I heartily recommend Jonathon Anderson for your painting needs. Although he just did a straight painting job for us Jonathon's forte and specialty is in high end faux and decorative finishes. He can make any surface look like marble or wood. He's really an artist and specializes in glazing, graining, marbleizing etc. I'd highly recommend Jonathon for anyone who wants that "special" job relating to his real talents.

The job was done well, we had no complaints about the job, it was a little slow in happening but we weren't in any urge and rush so that was OK. I have no problem with the quality or the work that was done. There was the owner, Mr. Anderson plus he had a young gentleman to help him out. He did a good job, I was pleased with the work, there was no problems with it, it wasn't difficult, it wasn't made any complicated. Just something that I didn't have the time to do it myself and they took care of it, one thing required two coats and they did it. The one thing I was saying, it was a little bit difficult to schedule, it took a number of phone calls, cause it wasn't one of those things that, come inside, paint the room and you get it done, there was some outside work involved and he wanted to do both sides all at one time and so the weather had a contributing factor to not being able to come out. They didn't want to come out and do the inside work and do the outside work another day, he wanted to complete it all in one day so the weather obviously had an impact on that and I am OK with that, that would not be a complaint, that was just something that you want to get it out of the way. The pricing was pretty reasonable.

Jonathan and his assistant arrived PROMPTLY at 9:30am and got to work right away. I worked from home and let them be for the rest of the two days so they can complete the job without interference. They were VERY respectful and professional and took almost exactly a 45min break for lunch and left around 5:15pm. I liked how Jonathan brought me in to discuss certain things as he saw fit, things he knew would be important to me as the homeowner. They bring their own beverages and music so they don't need anything other than time and space to work. I would hire him again in a second due to his professionalism and great work! My basement looks brand new, sparkling with the quality work, paints and materials that he used. Very very happy!

I purchased the Angie's list deal (8 hours of painting for $199) awhile back. After purchasing it, I called Jonathan to schedule a day. He got back to me promptly and said he was very busy but would definitely schedule me before the coupon expired. He kept in touch, and we agreed on a date that worked for both of us. Two weeks before the scheduled day, he stopped by my house to take a look at the rooms to be painted, just to be sure he could finish what we had discussed on the phone within the allotted time. He said he did not see a problem, but was upfront about his rates if he were to go over the 8 hours. I appreciated this as I knew exactly what to expect. When he stopped by, he advised me on how to prep the baseboards (I offered to do this to save time) and also told me how much paint I needed, and what kind of paint to get. The night before our scheduled day, he called and left a voicemail saying he would arrive at 9:30 am the next morning. He and his assistant Royal arrived on time, and prepped the two rooms to be painted with drop cloths and plastic. They then got to work. It was a rainy day, so Jonathan was concerned about drying time between coats. He took an hour lunch to give the paint time to dry. We ended up not needing a second coat. I appreciated Jonathan and Royal taking the longer lunch so that we could see how the first coat would dry. When they got back from lunch, they added the finishing touches and cleaned up. They went over by an hour, which they again were upfront about. The paint job looks extremely professional, and the rooms are just as clean as when Jonathan and Royal arrived. I plan on using them again, and I would recommend them to anyone!

Overall a pretty good experience. Estimated time went over and I had to pay extra. Floor paint was still tacky after two weeks! It was humid out but I did keep the ceiling fan on almost constantly. My guess was the paint was not stirred well. As far as cost I don't remember.

Jonathan and his assistant painted all we asked for in 3 days and did a wonderful, professional job. My husband was here some of the time that they were painting and enjoyed their personalities very much as well. We are so pleased that we asked him to let us know when he has an opening because we would like to get our bedroom painted. A friend who visited and saw the result is also interested in hiring these services.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service and I spent an additional $160 for extra painting. This was the first time I used them. The coupon called for one man working for 8 hours but two men showed up and said they would work 4 hours each. They worked incredibly slow and those work hours that I paid for supposedly included their prep time and clean up time. So the actual work time probably amounted to about 70-percent of the total time. Anything over that was billed as additional so I had to pay extra charges to have the job completed. The main guy was incredibly pleasant and told me all the things he was going to do for us but the next bottom line was you get what you pay for. I asked him to bid on more work on my house but he refused because he is making a killing on this Angie's List deal. I also should mention the brush marks and paint roller marks on the things they did paint was quite shocking, actually. They came when they said they would come.

Excellent job...we regretted we didn't hire out getting the other rooms painted as well because you really can tell the difference from a professional. Overall, he did an absolutely fantastic job and accomodated our schedule because we were having guests in from out of town. Would recommend and use again.

Mr. Anderson and his assistant, Royal, arrived at 9:30 am, precisely the time we agreed to. They begay immediately by prepping the area - placing drop cloths, patching nail holes, talking to me about exactly what my expectations were. Prep took nearly an hour. I provided the painter's tape; he provided the spackling/patching compount and sanding block. He made his own catwalk to reach the very high areas, using a ladder and a piece of wood. The 2 of them worked efficiently, were neat and cleaned up after themselves. Both were very personable. I am not positive, but I believe he had told me on the phone that his rates are $40/hr for each of them (so if the 2 of them come, that is $80/hr) which I feel is too high, but their work is definitely good! I enjoyed having them in my home.

All things considered it went very well. Jonathan had some transportation issues that required us to reschedule our date twice. This was frustrating for us as we were planning a birthday party and had the rooms cleared and prepared for over a week. Throughout it all, Jonathan was very professional and kept us up to date with his situation. The day of the job, Jonathan and his associate arrived as expected and began their work. They prepped the entire area as if it was their own homes. All floors and remaining furniture was covered securely. They completed the job within the agreed upon timeframe including 2 additional walls that were not originally included in the quote. If I had another big paint job, I would definitely contact Jonathan again. I would especially contact him if I had some artistic or specialty painting that I wanted completed. Jonathan had shared some pictures of some previous work he had done and it was fabulous work.

I was very pleased with the entire experience. Jonathan was very professional and his work was excellent. Jonathan went above and beyond to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. I would definitely use him in the future for my painting needs and would recommend him very highly.

From the first contact I made with Mr. Anderson, I was impressed with his professionalism, responsiveness and punctuality. He called when he said he was going to, arrived to my house exaclty when he said he would be there and did an excellent job. The area he painted was not a typical easy to get to area. It required precision and attention to deatils. Mr. Anderson did an amazing job and I will be calling him for future projects.

I bought the deal on 4/21/2013. I contacted John and he came to look at the job very soon after I contacted him. I wanted 3 ceilings in my home done. I showed him the kitchen and one bedroom ceiling, but when I showed him the bedroom ceiling it seemed as if he felt It would be too much work. I agreed to have him do the kitchen ceiling only. He stated he was very busy with all the deals that was purchased. I stated I was not in a rush but wanted the work completed by the end of May. We both had busy schedules so we agreed to have him do the work on 5/28 and finish on 5/30. He was never more than 1/2 hour late and always called to let me when he was running a little late. My kitchen is 13 x 11 square feet (the smallest room in my house, excluding the bathrooms). The cabinets takes up some of that space so he didn't have to paint all of that square footage. The ceiling isonly 8ft. high, not requiring any tall ladders. There was some pacthing that needed to be done over the stove. He brought an assistant with him. He placed plastic to protect my cabinets, countertop, floors and table. The first day they scraped and patched in the morning. Allowed the areas to dry. Returned later and patched some more. He stated the area would need another layer of patching. He put another layer on and stated he would return on Thursday to sand and paint. He suggested I buy Behr paint and primer, which I did. I bought some plastic and my husband covered the doorways with plastic to help contain the dust. They covered everything else to contain the dust. They sanded and painted. They allowed paint to dry. After returning he noticed there were some quarter size areas that needed to be patched again. He patched those areas and stated he would return on Friday to apply final coat of paint. I had to work so I stated my husband would be there. I wanted to know the final cost so my husband could pay him on Friday. He wrote up a bill of $308.00 in addition to the $199.00 I already paid for the Angie's deal. He explained the invoice. He charged me for 2 painters -$40.00/hr for 8 hours for one painter and the other painter for 8 hours was covered by the Angie's deal; $20.00 for materials (no receipts presented) and a 10% Angie's List discount. I called him later that evening and told him I wanted to discuss the cost. I told him I would not pay $500.00 dollars for him painting one wall. He stated due to the patching needed, high quality of work he provides, he didn't charge me for gas, he cleaned up after his work, protected my cabinets and counters and used an additional painter the cost increased. He also stated I should have been charged for time they had to wait to allow for the mudd to dry. None of this is in the Angie's Deal fine print. Prior to him presenting me with the invoice he never stated that I was going to be paying so much more than the deal. The was a one man job and at no time did he tell me he felt this was a 2 man job and he would have to charge me more. I told him if anyone would have given me an estimate to paint one wall for $500.00 I would not have taken that offer. I told him this is not a deal at that price. He stated he was standing firm on $300.00 and he wasn't talking to me anymore about the price. I gave my husband a copy of my Angie's Deal and invoice and told my husband to discuss the matter with Jonathan. Jonathan returned the next day, finished the project and never discussed anything with my husband nor gave him a receipt for supplies. My husband stated he did not approach him about any additional payment. Jonathan has not called me to discuss the matter any further. I have no problem paying for the materials used when he presents me with receipts. I wonder if I should get a discount for allowing him to store his materials in my garage. I really feel he became overwhelmed by all the responses from Angie's List and the amount of commitment it required. He seemed very stressed from the first day we met.

Jonathan did a great job on our painting he was very neat and professional and arrived on time. His partner was equally as nice and professional and I was pleased with the level of service and quality of work.

I purchased a $199 coupon for 8 hours of painting. Jonathon and his helper each worked for 4 hours and I purchased an extra hour of labor to complete the paining of three bedrooms. The quality of work was exceptional. They did some minor spackling before starting the painting. When completed everything looked great. I'm pretty picky so I'd say they exceeded my expectations. I will use Jonathon again!

He came, gave me a price on repainting my wooden cabinet fronts. We discussed my desire for a no-VOC paint and he recommended against the one I initially suggested. He set the doors on sawhorses, cleaned and prepped them, then applied several layers of paint. He wasn't satisfied with how at least one turned out, so he redid it without my saying anything to him. He is courteous, punctual, cleaned up after himself very thoroughly- and of course the cabinets look great!

Jonathan Anderson was very efficient and arrived on time every scheduled day. He was neat and orderly, never leaving his workspace messy overnight. He helped me move my 15 foot Christmas tree out of the way WITHOUT scratching the hard wood floors. He was very respectful of my residence and he was extremely professional in his services.
