They said they couldn't schedule a time to come out and look at my roof. Pam had to get back to me a day later. They looked it up on the internet and said my roof was too high and they were too busy. I live in a 1 story house. Very unprofessional! Will obviously never call them back and wouldn't recommend to anyone else. But don't worry, they are too busy to work on your roof too.

Great customer service is very important to us. In order to give every customer and potential new customer the attention they deserve, we do not take on more work than our employee's schedules allow. We understand that it is frustrating when you have a problem that needs to be solved quickly especially when it is a leaking roof. Since we had committed work already scheduled for our crews and could not get out there in a timely manner, we feel it is better to be honest up front rather than take on too much work. All professional roofing companies get inundated with calls for leaking roofs, mostly due to unqualified roofers. We are sorry that we could not help you at this time.

We contacted Dan Grimes and several other roofing companies. Dan's bid was in the middle but competitive. What we liked about him was that he is communicative and has integrity so we felt good about having him work on our home. Dan himself got up on the roof and found that there was weather damage. He had us contact our insurance and dealt directly with the insurance inspector. He walked through the whole process with us. We are very happy with the roof that Dan and his team installed. His workers were punctual and very courteous, as well as very conscientious. His company installed Owens Corning roofing system and we feel very confident about it after he walked us through each step of the material and quality. Dan treated us as if we were friends or family which made the whole process go very smoothly. We are very happy with the work his company did. We would highly recommend Integrity 1st Roofing.

Integrity 1st Roofing acted exactly as their name indicated. They were quick with responding to our inquiries, estimating the work, and delivering the work. They worked around our schedules to complete the work, and gave us detailed instructions on what they would need for the work they performed on the house while we were away. Everything was very professional, they cleaned our yard of any debris, and overall we had an excellent experience with them. They came at a time when a wind storm had done some major damage to the front of our house, and worked quickly to resolve the issue.

The whole team at Integrity 1st was great in getting us a fast quote, coming to us to finalize options, and scheduling and completing the job with very high quality! Dan, Pam, and the whole team was very courteous and responsive and great with communication on this whole job. The actual roofing job was done very quickly and looks so great compared to the other roofs in our neighborhood - they did their work quickly without compromising the quality. They did everything they said they would do including replacing damaged wood under the roof. I LOVED that they took pictures and called me during the job to double check on questions and to document their work! Oh yes, and the price was right too compared to other quotes! Angie's list discount helped!

Intergiry 1st came to my home the morning after I called them and provided an estimate. While the estimate reflected thier minimum charge, I felt it to be reasonable. When they examined the roof they texted pictures to me immediately, along with a quote for the work to be performed. I asked when they could do the repiar (this was in the early afternoon) and they indicated they could do it that same day. The crew came over later that day and performed the necessary repairs. They sent me the pictures of the completed repiar. I am no longer concerned that rain water might damage my home, since the repair has been completed.

Several calls were made. Professional visit to see the roof and share reminders about preparing for roof installation work. Materials arrived on a protected flat, The crew was eager and on time in the early morning the next day. The complete work was done in a day. My husband and I did not have any issues with old shingles, nails or other materials around the house - which was very nice and expected from a professional roofing service. They worked diligently like Santa's elves. We are very pleased with the overall curb appeal of the shingles dimensions, warranty and workmanship.

Great service. Pam came to the house with samples and paperwork. We went outside and looked at the samples so I could choose one. About 4 weeks later, I got a call updating me on the date to expect delivery of the shingles and then installation. The day before, it was confirmed. They told me what I needed to do/provide, which was just an extension cord for power to the outside. The workers arrived early on the morning of installation and left late that same day with the new roof completely installed. They returned the next work day to pick up the extra materials. I was very impressed with the professionalism. They cleaned up well all around the house. The roof looks great and -- so far -- seems to be functioning perfectly.

Porch Roof: I have a slightly sloped porch roof that I hired Integrity to cover with a roll out roofing material called modified bitumen. This project was initially started on Friday 10/30/15 by the same subcontractor who was working on the main roof. However, I don?t think they had much (if any) experience dealing with modified bitumen. I periodically checked on their progress so observed their method of installation. Also, toward the end of the work day, 2 of them were arguing heatedly in Spanish about how to finish the job. The supervising representative from Integrity had left already to go tend to another job. It was too dark to see when they finished Friday night so I checked out their work early Sat 10/31/15. The bitumen was a mess?not laying flat, buckling in many middle areas, curling up on the edges and sagging off the side of my house where it was supposed to be firmly attached. I emailed Integrity w/ my concerns that day. Monday morning (11/2/15), a crew of 2 showed up from Integrity. I explained to them the problems and they assured me they would make it right, even if that meant tearing everything off and starting again. However, instead, at the direction of their boss Shaun, they tried to ?fix? the job the subcontractors had done. They were able to get the edges to lay flatter but were not able to eliminate the buckling. They cut and removed the last run of bitumen that was supposed to attach to the house and spliced in a new one but carelessly over-sprayed a black tar based adhesive on to adjacent bitumen in multiple areas in the process. To better understand the correct installation method, I contacted the bitumen manufacturer, Mule-hide. I learned that the bitumen had not been stored or installed at the proper minimum temps and that a weighted roller should have been used to help smooth out the product. Both of these contributed to the buckling and adhesion problems Integrity and the subcontractor encountered. Also, I learned that the way they spliced-in another layer was wrong and would compromise the water resistance of the product. All of these are things that Integrity should have known but seemed oblivious to. I met with owner, Dan, and his son, Shaun, to show them and express my displeasure with their and the subcontractors work. They said the buckling would flatten out over time and they would order some matching grey granules to help mask the overspray areas. They also said their method of splicing-in another layer was fine, despite what the manufacturer told me to the contrary. I was not happy but agreed to give this a chance and see what it looked like. A week or so later, one of their workmen wandered across the bitumen with paint on his shoe which left white splotches on it in about 10-12 places. I contacted Integrity (11/12/15) and sent them pics to show what had occurred. The owner initially apologized but then asked me if I had possibly tracked the paint across the roof rather than one of his own workers (who had been standing in my box gutters all day painting)?.Rrright.Anyway, a couple of months later (1/7/16), the granules were delivered to Integrity and they finally applied them to the bitumen to mask the overspray areas. It looked better but not good, the paint tracks were never addressed, and the buckling didn?t flatten out (despite the unusually warm winter we?ve had). All in all, very disappointing and definitely not the professional job I hired them for. I was sent a bill for the full price without anyone ever reviewing the final product with me. Box Gutter Painting: I have box gutters running around the 3rd story of my house and around a balcony on the 2nd story. I hired Integrity to paint them with a product they suggested called Gaco?.it is a silicone based paint traditionally used on flat metal roofs. Shaun said they had used this on box gutters before and it held up much better than traditional oil/latex based paints. The Gaco paint is applied in a 4-step process: Power washing and scraping, a liquid tape is applied to gutter seams, then 2 coats of the Gaco paint are applied. I knew it would take a while to complete this job since all the steps required some drying time between. A crew power washed the upper and lower gutters. Although they cleaned up a bit afterwards, lots of white paint chips were left scattered over my garden, bushes, balconies, etc. Little if any scraping was done. On the upper gutters this was not a big deal, but on the balcony gutters it was. My tenants spend a lot of time on it and it should look good. I let multiple members of their crew know that there was a lot of lose paint on the balcony gutter that still needed scraping. They assured me it would be done before the 1st coat of paint was applied. After the 1st Gaco coat had been applied and dried for a couple of days, I inspected it only to discover the balcony gutter appeared not to have been scraped at all and even had a large piece of the old paint buckling up off the metal and sticking straight up in the air! I also noticed that they hadn?t painted any of the outer gutter edges. The paint surface was rough not smooth like a good paint job should be. I emailed Integrity (11/18/15) and told them to stop all paint work until I could meet w/ the owner, Dan.Dan was apologetic at first but upon seeing his crew?s handy-work, acted as if there was nothing wrong and this was business as usual?really? Anyway, he grudgingly agreed that the edges would be painted. He also assured me that the peeling paint area would be scraped and that the 2nd coat would make the rough surface smooth. I skeptically let them continue. The final Gaco coat was applied shortly after and I was notified that the job was complete (11/20/16). A few days later, I inspected their paint job only to discover that the exact same spot of peeling paint I had shown Dan specifically was still there untouched and had been joined by a couple of other areas where the paint had flaked off down to the bear metal! A bunch of rags were left in my gutter by a worker which could?ve been washed into my downspout in a rainstorm and clogged it up if I hadn?t double checked their work. Some edges had been painted, some had not. Also on the 3rd story, one of the workers had stepped in the fresh paint and left a footprint there. I emailed them immediately (11/25/15) and contacted them 2x by phone over a couple days span leaving a message both times saying there were issues w/ the paint job?none were returned.A little over a month later (1/6/16), I was finally contacted by Shaun who wanted to have a crew come out to finish the bitumen job. I told him about the paint issues and that he had been contacted 3x a month ago about it. There was no apology or a ?we?ll make this right?...he just requested pics of the issues so he could review it w/ his crew before they came out. A crew came and left the next day?no painting or scraping was done. A couple of weeks later (1/26/16), they sent me a bill for the full price. I refused paying any more until the paint job was completed to my satisfaction.About a week after that (2/1/16), Integrity contacted me to let me know that Dan (owner) would like to come out and review the issues w/me that day so they could be corrected. He arrived late in the afternoon. I first showed him the footprint in the paint on the 3rd floor. His reaction: ?that?s not hurting anything??basically telling me that craftsmanship isn?t important in a paint job. Then I showed him an example of an edge that wasn?t painted which he acknowledged but then reminded me that his crew really wasn?t supposed to be painting anyway, despite our previous conversation and agreement about this being done. He was clearly being difficult and w/o another word to me popped open a can of paint he?d brought w/him and started slapping paint on the edges w/a brush. When I told him I wanted all of the edges inspected and touched up (not just the edges immediately visible from the porch roof) he scoffed, saying the other edges were fine and that he would only address the ones immediately visible to him. Really??he hadn?t even looked at the other edges so how could he possibly know?? I reminded him that no further payment would be made until the job was done right. While continuing to slap paint on the edges w/his back to me, he accused me of sabotaging the paint job and told me I was ?full of sh@t!? I was shocked by his hostility/rudeness but thought I would try to deescalate the situation by showing him the lower gutter issues briefly and then asking him to leave. I asked him to stop painting and follow me downstairs to view the lower gutter?he ignored me. I repeated more forcefully stop painting, get up and follow me downstairs?and reminded him he wasn?t getting paid until the job was done right. At this point he leaped up, pointed his finger in my face, and yelled ?I can?t wait to put a lien on you!? and then ran through my tenant?s apartment and down her steps yelling at me, ?Come on! Come on! Let?s go downstairs and look at the gutter! Let?s go?come on!? sarcastically as if he were summoning his dog to follow him. Fed up and realizing there would be no reasoning w/him, I told him to stop, get his stuff and leave. He did but told me I was refusing his services, that he was under no further obligation to me and gave me a dirty look as he quickly walked out, slamming the door behind him. Conclusion: I think the true measure of any company is not just how well they do things but how well they react to a situation when things go wrong. Everybody makes mistakes. Instead of taking ownership of issues that arose during the execution of the various projects, Integrity tried to cut corners, ignore some problems and blame others on the customer. I could possibly understand a worker blowing his stack and acting out but not the owner of a company?ridiculous and completely unprofessional.
Description of Work: 1. Remove and replace main roof, 2. Upgrade roof venting, 3.Replace porch roof, 4.Paint box gutters I hired Integrity 1st to do 4 different tasks (listed above). The work was performed on a 3 story apartment building I own. Their estimate was clear and easy to follow. Half the money down was required on all projects before work commenced; the other half was due at completion. Integrity 1st used subcontractors (non-English speaking) on the main roof and porch roof replacement projects. Sometimes they had a representative from their company supervising the subs and sometimes they didn’t. Integrity followed up with their own workers to detail/fix the subs work and complete everything else. Replacing the main roof and upgrading the venting went fairly smoothly and were completed with no issues. What follows is where the problems started….

We were in a time crunch to get a new roof put on and Dan the owner worked with us to get this done. I worked a lot with Pam, Sean and Dan who were always professional and nice.

Everything with Integrity 1st was a smooth and easy process. I had Alfonso come out in June 2015 to look at some damage to the soffit on the roof. He quickly informed me that the problem was with our current roof - it was just plain crappy (I received the same opinion from several other companies). I was hesitant to replace my entire roof, so Integrity provided me with a quote for the roof and a quote for the repair work. Due to some uncontrolled circumstances, I didn't get back to Integrity until November 2015. They informed me that their original quote was still good. I had a lot of questions and Pam was always quick to respond. When we finally decided to get both the repair and the roof replacement, Pam came to my house on a Tuesday evening with shingle samples and the paperwork to sign. Sean then quickly scheduled the work. Due to some weather issues, our roof repair was delayed a couple of days, but Sean always kept us in the loop. In fact, they actually installed the new roof on Thanksgiving day (despite our insistence that this wasn't necessary)! A couple of weeks later, Sean's crew came back out to fix the outer ledge of the roof that had been damaged due to the crappy old roof. Upon completion of the work, Sean contacted me and told me that we needed some additional work done to the soffit. I was under the impression that this work should have been completed under the original quote. I sent a quick email to Sean explaining my understanding. There were no questions. Later I received a call from Sean letting me know that they were going to come back out and complete the remaining work at no additional charge! It was a very seamless process and I was very happy with the overall quality of the work!

Dan, the owner, was great to deal with. Our home is quite large and the project took several days. They also did some extra work replacing wood siding which was rotted out. Due to the size of our home, this job was probably more complex than many others. Integrity's attention to detail and making sure that every aspect of the installation was done properly is what impressed me the most. Also, their communication about what was being done, when and why was nothing short of outstanding. I couldn't be happier with the process or the work. Thanks Dan!

There were some good things and some bad things. I wrote some notes at the time of work and then waited over a year to see how the roof performed before writing this review. Work Duration: The duration of the work was not as promised. It was supposed to be a 1 to 1.5 day max job. The roofing installation itself took 2 full days not including the misc. touch up return visits. The gutter installation was another day or so of work a few days after the roof completed. Perhaps the representative was speaking to just the duration of the roofing work since gutter work was sub-contracted out but that was not the impression that I had at the time. Valley Construction: When I spoke with Dan a few weeks before the job was to start I expressed my preference for an open valley with the metal flashing down each. On the day of the install during the tear off of I asked Dan again about having new valley material on hand. Once the shingles started going on I discovered, after 1 or 2 valleys were already done, that they were using a closed valley system. I decided at the time to not stop the work since the roof was already partially done and any delays would likely result in the job bleeding over further into the weekend and possibly not even be completed before it was due to rain on Sunday. My wife likes the way it looks with the closed valleys so it's not a huge issue but it's not what was agreed upon. Resolution: When confronted with this issue the installer immediately conceded the point that the valley construction was an error and offered to re-do the valleys. Since we though they looked OK and the method met the warranty needs we left them as is to avoid any knock on issues involved with tearing off and patching in new valleys. The installer also knocked of the cost of the added roof decking material required for the job which reduced the cost by a few $100. I was satisfied with this. Worker Language/Disrespect: I may not be a native Spanish speaker but I know enough to know when I'm being insulted. On two occasions while I was walking around the house to inspect the status of the project I heard "Cabron" and "P******" spoken while I was present. I can't say it was directed at me for certain since they were not speaking directly to me at the time but I'd say it's a fair bet the pejoratives where meant for me. Frankly I don't care what your workers think of me as long as they do quality work but at least have the common sense not to insult your customer when he's within earshot. Resolution: I brought it up with the installer and he said he talk to them. Who knows if he actually did or if it did any good. I wasn?t looking to get anybody fired so this was about all I expected to get. Damage Caused By Work: Per the pre-construction evaluation instructions we moved everything of value that could be moved away from the house to prevent damage. However, I can't move my heat pump. I did cover it with a piece of plywood though but that doesn't appear to have been enough. Something heavy with asphalt on it, maybe a bundle of shingles, fell from the roof and landed on my heat pump. The plywood I put in place protected it to some extent but the blow lefty a tarry scuff on the body of the unit and broke off the logo. It also appears to have struck the coolant lines going to and from the house. They appear to be intact but the force fractures the siding around the hole where tubes inter the house and broke loose all the weather sealing around that penetration. The same object or another object also hit the furnace vent adjacent to the heat pump and over the window well. the siding was cracked around one of the vents and the sealant around both was pulled loose. Resolution: I pointed this damage out to the installer. The damage appeared to be largely cosmetic, except for the cracked siding, and the heat pump appear to still work. However, I was concerned the damage might be subtle, a slow leak maybe, resulting in a problem manifesting weeks or months later. I requested only written assurance that if a problem did develop that they?d cover the cost since I?d met my end of the bargain in trying to protect the heat pump. The installer went one better an had an HVAC person come out and check the system right away. It was given a clean bill of health, sealing around the lines was re-done and a year later everything appears to be still working fine. This was a more than acceptable outcome. Leak: The following spring we had a minor leak around one of the skylights. We called the installer in to evaluate they applied a temporary fix but denied the leak around the skylight was the result of their work because they skylights were not replaced. The problem is I remember the skylights coming apart at least partially when they did the flashing and snow/ice guard around them but I don?t have proof so there?s not much I can do about it. The temporary fix has held fine and hopefully will continue to do so until we get around to replacing the skylights. Resolution: None except the temporary fix which they did not charge us for. If I could find the photos of the skylight from before the work to show that the state of them had changed I might make an issue of it but I can?t find them so that?s about it. Miscellaneous: There were numerous small issues like a missing piece of drip edge or on a short section or less than perfect cleanup but nothing major. Resolution: The installer was pretty good about sending someone out to address the 5-10 misc. minor things I noticed about the work in some areas. I was satisfied with this.

The garage was in pretty bad shape, they tore off 2 layers of old roofing and the wood under as well, and repaired garage truss. The house was not in as bad shape so they didn't need to replace wood - but tore off 2 old layers of roofing and replaced. This was one of the hardest working teams that I've seen in a long time. They arrived early and on time and continued working until the job was completed. They cleaned up the yard and hauled away all of the old debris. The garage siding needed a small repair and they handled it perfectly. Glass block windows in the basement as well. It was so nice to hire one company to handle these various jobs in such a professional manner. I'd definitely recommend Integrity First ! Very professional and great job at a reasonable price. Extremely satisfied.
