He not only repaired the work in the kitchen, but installed a motion sensor light over the front door. He was very pleasant and professional to work with. I would use him again in the future.

Description of Work: We were a part of Help Plumbing's Loyalty club. Water was going down the drain in our bathroom very slowly. We called Help Plumbing. They put a camera down the drain and saw that roots had eaten up our drain. They quoted us $15,000 for the repair. We didn't go with them.

Description of Work: I called Help in a Thursday and made an appointment with Help to clear a bathtub drain. They were to arrive on a Friday between 3-5pm. I received a phone call at 4:15 stating no one would be coming due to overbooking and the next available was on the following Monday. I asked to speak to a supervisor but instead of forwarding my call, I was offered $10 off and would do the service the following Sunday morning. I opted not to use Help due to lack of reliability, punctuality, responsiveness. A low price means very little when there is such poor customer service.

Description of Work: Charged an excessive amount to add Freon to A/C system. Automatically tried to sell new A/c unit for 5K rather than attempting to find the leak.

Description of Work: I had a service contract. They amazingly find something wrong just about everytime they come. This time I knew something was wrong with my furnace. They gave me an estimate of over 800. for a furnace I think is about 8 years old. So we talked of replacing it. When I said I would get 2nd opinions they used fear to get me to buy from them immediately. The repair from a competitor was less that $300.

Description of Work: Had a leaking shower control. I called and asked for replacement quote. The tech quoted 1250.00 with their part abd labor. About 350 for part and 875.00 for labor. I said I couldn't afford that and decline d. Then I went to Menards and bought new controller for 85.00. Got a friend who is a plumber to replace it for 150.00 labor. It took 3 hrs and working fine since. WATCH OUT FOR HELP... THEY MAY HELP VETS BUT THEY REALLY DO HELP THEMSELVES TO ALL YOUR MONEY IF YOU LET THEM. AVOID LIKE EBOLA!!!!

Description of Work: My air didn't come on this year so I called Help.. What a scam company, they said all the equipment should be replaced, gave me a bid of x13/15k to replace. Said the heat exchanger was cracked. It all sounded like a crock so I called another company. They had both systems working in less than a hour. Said he checked both heat exchanges and said they were in perfect condition. So for less than 1000 I'm up and running. Help said I needed a list of stuff a mile long, really only needed two items and one was batteries in the thermostat.DO NOT EVEN CALL THEM.. Check the BBB. They score a F

Description of Work: Well, they fixed my heater, which is what they were hired to do. Then, like a couple of 4 year olds hopped up on too much chocolate, they slapped stickers with their info all over every appliance they could find in the basement.

Description of Work: Wanted repair of hot water line, their bill to repair $1770, but said all water lines in basement should be replaced $5800. Had repaired by Zins plumbing for $520.00, HELP seem to always make the job bigger.

The technician was on time with the time that the Help representative called with earlier that day. The only problem was when the Help rep from the company called earlier that morning to give me a more specific arrival time she called my landline number not my cell phone which I had told the company to call when I made the appointment.

Description of Work: HELP, formerly Thompson Heating and AC, is a great marketing company. You experience it immediately when they answer the phone: "How can I make you smile today?" They put signs on your lawn about "Helping the Veterans" . Certainly that is a noble thought, but according to a company supervisor, neither the owner nor most of the employees are veterans. It makes one wonder if they use the word "veteran" for marketing purposes. When I first hired them in Nov. 2012, it was for an annual maintenance contract for the heating and 2 AC units. The furnace support in the fall of 2012 went fine. However, I did not appreciate the service tech gluing their 5x8 inch advertising stickers on my two exterior AC units, the basement water heater and the furnace. When they came in June 2013 to service the 2 AC units, things went bad. The technician completed the service and said everything was fine but he wanted his supervisor to check it later. If it was fine, why did a supervisor have to check it? When the supervisor arrived several days later, he took out a meter of some sort and immediately announced that one of the units was losing Freon and he could see it on the floor of the unit. He said I had to buy a new unit right away. Since I was a customer, he would give me a deal. He said the unit cost $18,000 but he would give it to us for $16,000 but I had to sign the contract immediately. The unit he was pushing only had 13 seer and did not have a variable speed motor. When I told him the AC was still working and I would like to compare his price to other vendors, he got very huffy and reminded me the offer had to be signed today or I would lose the deal. For whatever reason, the unit stopped cooling two days later. When I called in other vendors, none could see the Freon leak on the floor of the unit that the HELP supervisor said he saw but when they ran their test, the Freon was gone completely. I got prices from 3 companies. All were below $9,000 and all had 16 seer and variable speed motors. I selected one rated the best by Consumer Reports for $7,660. I wonder if when the HELP technician and supervisor saw my grey hair they thought they could run a fast one on me.
