My overall experience was FANTASTIC! We had joined their maintenance program earlier in the year, as the AC/Heating system was 16 years old and original to the home. We had been "patching" issues since March of this year with that original system. Since both my husband and I work very time demanding jobs, we always had to schedule appointments during the evening/weekend hours. ALL of the technicians we came in contact with were incredibly knowledgable and professional. They were on time and courteous. Once they diagnosed the issue(s) they were quick to offer us the different options. Not once did we ever feel pressured to do anything we didn't want to do. They were purely objective and explained the different trade offs. When the time came that we realized that "patching" the old system wasn't buying us much, the Thompson rep sat down with us and let us know exactly ALL options we had and what the benefits of each option was. There was no pressure to upsell or talk us into anything. They purely and objectively shared the information and options. Once we decided on the system, they presented us with our financing options and were out the next day to install the system. In addition, they gave us a "credit" on the new system to help defray the money we had already spent on patching the old system. They arrived on time the next day, and the whole installation process took exactly the amount of time that the rep told us it would take. The system is working great, and Thompson even followed up with us to check how everything went. I would 100% recommend Thompson Heating and Cooling.

Sales rep came and walked through house for Furnace and AC estimate. He went over the differences between their product and others on the market. Their product is different than most out there on the market, however, their price tag is also triple to that of other estimates that we recieved and their warranty was only 5 years longer on the product. So, for 1/3 of the cost of what they said they would do it for we went with another company. The man that came was very friendly and knew the products and competition well. If you're in the market for top of the line and expensive unit, they would be the ones to contact.

Thompson was available to come out the next day which was much better than the others I called. They tried to sell me a service contract at the same time which I wasn't keen on. They spent a lot of time diagnosing the problem - small leak in the coil which cost $69 for the diagnostics charge. Because of age of my system, they didn't recommend a repair or replacement of the coil. They also didn't recommend recharging with freon as a temporary fix since it would be costly & it might make the hole bigger & recommeded I not run the AC because it could freeze up causing leaks. Sent out a sales tech & gave me an estimate for a new furnace & AC. They quoted an off brand system at a higher than other quotes for systems of comparable or better systems. Overall they were very responsive, friendly, professional but I kind of felt I was getting a hard sell on immediately replacing my system. The other companies did not agree Thompson's accessment to not run my system although I did have to be careful to avoid freeze-up but making sure AC didn't run continuously.

They provided very good service. I paid about $70 or $80 on that service. They were on time and were courteous and professional. They knew what they were talking about and did not try to sell me something I did not need. I would use them again and recommend them.

We needed to replace our HVAC system. The man who came out was not very neat, and was more interested in selling than helping. First we started the wheeling and dealing. If we added this, they would reduce that. If we combined plumbing and a water softener, we would get a lower price on the HVAC. The man quoted $7,000 for a water softener. We put one in for $600.00. $8,000 for plumbing was $4,200 with someone else. And their $22,000 quote for HVAC was done by another company for $8,400. Then we started with the scare tactics. I was asked if I had certain medical conditions. I was then told that only their water softener would keep my blood pressure from going up and that other HVAC systems would actually make mold grow in our house. I can see how older people might react to that. Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend these people to anyone. They try and charge to much, play too many games with their pricing, and try to scare you into spending money you do not need to spend. If they pull into your driveway, run out the back door.

They have fixed our furnace probably a total of 10 times, since we had bought it from them. I would recommend anyone to not go to this company. Everything that could have gone wrong, had gone wrong.

They are professional. Show up on time, in clean uniforms and with a clean truck. I view their pricing to be slightly on the high side, but I am fine paying the higher cost for the professional work and dependability. One of their big pushes is to join their membership club. You play a monthly charge and as part of that you get immediate service, A/C and Furnance serviced every year. I have always struggled on who to call if I need plumbing work or A/C or furnace service. I joined the service and now I have one company I, or my wife, can call and they are very dependabile. Also, no problem getting a weekend service, without any additional charge.

The technician was a very young man, polite, and very nice. I had signed up for a contract with them. I had lost one of my services and they said I had used up all of my services. They always talk me into buying something else that I don’t need. I have a bad opinion about them. I felt pressured too much. My experience with them was terrible. I will never do business with them again. Their price is pretty comparable with everyone else’s, though.

We didn’t use them because their sales techniques were awful. They did some really high-pressure sales techniques that really offended us. The guy, who came out to do the quote, was very annoying. He refused to tell us specific brand names. He kept telling us that he was a salesman and not a person who did the quote. He told us that we would get a better price if we bought the units that very day and if we joined their service club. He didn’t have any information on the club. He didn’t leave us any literature on the units. He told us that if we didn’t get the units that very day, we wouldn’t get that price again. It is well known in our area that they overcharge and they do high-pressure sales. It was very frustrating. They showed up after three days, even though we had canceled the installation. We have been warning everyone we know about them, even though they have been in business for 80-90 years and they advertise everywhere. We will never trust them, even for a repair. We have never felt so unhappy about a sales experience in our life. Another company charged us $5000 for the units. This company has left a bad taste in our mouths.

Over a two day period the roughed in a termporary system so I had heat since it was still winter. Then they came back the next day and finished the job including installing the air conditioning unit including the unit outside. They also replaced the hot water heater, gave me a new humidifier since I spent a ton of money. Then I had my airducts cleaned by them later. They were very professional, very punctual and left a very clean house afterwards. So far I have had no issues with the system including the airconditioning unit now that it is summer. I have saved quite alot of money on my heating and cooling bills as promised. I also got back $300 in energy credits from Duke plus will be eligible for a energy tax credit on my taxes next year. They did really good followup by making sure I was happy with my system. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

We were very pleased. They came right away and we didn't have any problems.

I will let anyone know of the positive experience. Mark, the installation tech was excellent. He worked by himself all day and got the job done with high level of professionalism.

did an excellent job the thing that most impressed us is the service guy explained how to "bleed" the hot water radiators every year. We have lived in the house for 14 years and had many service people - none of them ever explained this to us. Nice JOB!

I appreciated the plumbing work Mike did yesterday at my property! Mike was there from 8:45am to 9pm and trouble shot all issues we had. It was a much bigger job than we expected. He was very communicative in explaining what was going on. He was a great guy and did a wonderful job!!!!!
