They did a really nice job. They are very professional. They said that they might have to dig up the whole front yard but they did not.

They came our pronto and worked diligently. One guy was here for around 10 hours. Then he called in a supervisor who was here for at least 5 hours. They were unsuccessful in clearing the clog, but not through any fault of their own. The water company had squashed the sewer line when they came to fix the water supply. When they brought the back hoe in it squashed the sewer line. The guys from Thompson were here for hours and they tried with special equipment to find where the problem was, but since they don't do road work they couldn't fix it. They not only stayed with me until the water people came, but they argued my point to the county that it was their fault that the sewer line was damaged and more or less helped me insist that the county should fix it at their expense. Their service was above and beyond the call of duty. They were running a special at the time and for all of those hours worked they only charged me $99. That is A+++ service. When we have any trouble in heating, cooling or plumbing we will call them first.

The guy we used was the son of a coworker of mine. He works for Thompson, but worked for us as an independent contractor. He was polite, clean, and thorough, and may reflect Thompson as a whole.

As the summer was heating up the air conditioning unit started to act up. Semi-cool air was flowing from the unit. Called Thompsons and they responded the next day. I had explained the situation and it was determined it was not an emergency call. The tech arrived promptly at the time designated and went to work immediately. He inspected everything, explained the cost, and went to work immediately. Was very prompt, courteous and explained each step of work.

The salesman was polite and offered the old style sale indicating if I purchased within a couple of days I could get another discount. In addition, the salesman did not listen when I repeatedly told him how I wanted the A/C mounted to the foundation, as opposed to being placed on the ground. They may not be able to offer that service but all the other A/C folks were able to accommodate my request.

They are very clean and professional. I would use them again, no doubt.

Thompson was very quick to respond, came out that afternoon to start working on the fix. The supervisor Barry was easy to deal with and kept me well informed. The real repair work began 3 days later. Unfortunately they could not pull the line out all the way from the house, so they proposed trenching from the meter up to the hose to replace the Blue Max with all copper line (at extra cost). This would have meant demolishing and removing our front deck and steps, so I declined. We agreed on a copper patch up to a clean straight section of Blue Max, so the work was completed that day. However there is no warranty on a patch like this, so we will have to live with the uncertainty. Most Blue Max breaks are at the point of entry into the house as the building settles - ours was out in the yard itself. I could not get competitive bids due to the urgency, so I can only say I thought the price was high, but I have marked it fair, having nothing to compare them with. To get the best price I bought a one year service club membership which includes two heating and A/C inspections. The A/C check-up was done last week, and they were thorough. Courteous service again, also.

Technician told me that we had a refrigerant leak and needed a fan motor and duel capacitor and quoted me $866. I told him I needed a second opinion. I had another company come out and they told me that the capacitor and fan motor did not need to be replaced and that the refrigerator was only slightly low. They added a can of sealant and topped off the refrigerant for $268. Glad I asked for a second opinion!

Thompson came out for a free follow-up cleaning of my furnace. At that time, I asked the service techs to look at my AC as it was 19 years old. After thoroughly checking it they told me they could do a couple thousand dollars worth of repairs and keep the AC going for another season or they could get me a quote for a new unit. I knew this was coming and opted for the new AC. A representative came out that same afternoon and a new AC unit was installed the next day. All my dealings with Thompson have been professional, also they have been very clean and respectful of my home.I have not had a plumbing need yet, but am considering changing to Thompson for that service too.
