My experience with them went very well.

The Thompson man showed us a piece from the a/c unit that he claimed had been damaged by an explosion in the unit. He made a separate appointment to go over the options with us. At that second appointment, he tried to sell us a $10,000+ complete replacement of our heating and a/c system. We called in a friend of a friend for a second opinion. This guy fixed the problem for $100 and the a/c has worked fine for two years. Never again, Thompson.

On their first visit to my home they really saved me A LOT of money! I had several companies out to inspect my basement that was flooded and they all made the same suggestion which would have cost thousands. This company found a minor leak and repaired it for $49. They were very honest with me about repairs and didn't over charge me or suggest unnecessary repairs. They were very efficient and got things done in a timely manner. They even moved things out from under my sink and then put things back when they were done. They also gave good explanations about work that needed to be done and asked my consent before proceeding.

Overall everything went better than expected. Excellent work plus Mat is so good at explaining in detail, advising ALL the options and he is very pleasant to work with. I continue to highly recommend they based on our several experiences. They may be slightly higher than some other companies but you get a great product they stand behind with excellent service. We couldn't be more pleased. This worked was performed in the 45243 zip code but they have also done work for us in 45215.

My air conditioner had stopped working so I called around. I did some research and I ended up with them. I was told that someone would be at my home between 3 and 5 on Friday and no one showed up. So I called and asked why no one came. They said they were going to call because they couldn't come out. I went back and forth with them for about 2 hours, because I had taken off work for them to come and no one showed up. Then I was told that because I didn't have their membership that I wasn't a priority. They called back and told me it was their error, because I had called the night before. So they were going to send someone out for free. He told me my motherboard was fried and that I would probably need to replace it. He scheduled to come back Tuesday and he called me Tuesday morning, which he told me he would call by Saturday, telling me that he did more research and ran the serial number and it was from 1998 instead of 2006, even though I saw 2006 on the unit. They recommended that I get a new air conditioning unit. I just wanted to have it fixed. They said they could do that, but I would have to sign a disclaimer so that if anything happened they were not held responsible. So it went with someone else. They called me twice after that to figure out why I didn't use them. My air conditioner was from 2006 and it is up and running. I did not need to get a new one.

Broken kitchen sink faucet, they disconnected and hooked up new one. No drips and they also tested everything else. the coupon is a joke as the house call and diagnostic is 49.99. The coupon is clearly built in to their pricing. I highly suggest buying your parts as they have a 800 percent markup. they are worth every penny as the techs are top notch but too much greed is very disappointing with pricing

Had Thompson out for a periodic review of the A/C unit. They discovered a part that had not failed yet but was failing. They replaced the part and all is well. Very nice technician.

Andy arrived on time and spent many more hours than was billedfor, under Thompson's one flat rate for drain cleaning. The problem was in a garage floor drain, and he not only cleared the blockage, but inspected the lines with a video camera to make sure the blockage was removed thoroughly. A great experience from a first class company with great employees.

Wednesday Thompson A/C tech comes in the afternoon examines unit.Thursday 2 techs diagnose sensor on coil is broken cost $39.00The whole coil has to be removed.Friday 2 techs arrive but only 1tech stayed to install new coil with sensor built-in.Cost $2000 for parts and labor - $800 Lenax part warranty discount.Coolant gas included.Total cost $1214+39=.$1253.00Expensive but comes with 1 year parts and Thompson Labor + Lenax 10 parts warranty.Lenax heating and A/C is 4 years old and cost $10,000.

A pipe burst in my basement, resulting in a river of standing water. We stemmed the flow as best as we could and I called Thompson's on May 1 to schedule an appointment between 3-5 p.m. the following afternoon on May 2. I received a call the morning of the appointment from a Thompson's representative alerting me that they had a rash of emergency calls (flooded basements, no hot water) called in that morning and that they were moving my appointment to the following day. The rep, who was busy typing other business throughout the entire call, didn't give me the courtesy of asking if my appointment could be rescheduled or even if my emergency could wait. When I replied that I would just call another plumber as my basement was also flooding to the point where we had to turn our water off completely, they retained the appointment. However, after waiting nearly two hours for the plumber to show up at the agreed upon time, I received a call alerting me that the plumber was behind and that they could not provide any ETA on when he might get here and that it could be several hours longer. I cancelled the appointment and called another plumber who promises to be more responsive and punctual. This was our first -- and last -- experience with Thompson's. Our burst pipe could have already been fixed if we had simply called another plumber. I know that companies have to "triage" emergency calls, but I am disappointed that Thompson's would push back the emergency of a first-time customer for emergencies called in AFTER ours.

My experience with Thompson is mixed. The two technicians that came to my house were courteous, skilled, and thorough. My experience with the office was disappointing. I had heard Thompson's ads on the radio, so I checked them out on Angie's list and saw they had a good rating. Scheduled the cleaning for 20 April between 3-5PM. At 5:30PM called Thompson to find out what was going on. They professed ignorance and said they would have someone come right out. The reality is that the technician's truck had broken down early in the day, and he'd been several hours behind schedule all day. Thompson's office should have called to inform me so that I wasn't setting around waiting. As far as the services, the drain technician was thorough, patient, and pleasant. He tried unsuccessfully to clear the drain from three different entry points. He told me that the corrugated drains have a tendency to collapse and pull apart at the joints due to freezing and thawing of the ground. He suggested that we have a camera crew come out to confirm the situation before considering replacement. When I tried to hand him the check, he refused saying that he hadn't solved my problem. A nice touch. The following Tuesday, the camera technician came out and checked the condition of the drains. As predicted, the drains had collapsed in 4 spots. Again, the technician was courteous and thorough. I've chosen someone else to do the actual drain replacement. I have several quotes in hand and Thompson is more than double the average. There are numerous types of companies that do exterior drains, and using a using a licensed plumber is not the most cost effective.

They are recommended by Angie’s List. We have also used them before in the past for other things. They are very professional and thorough with their explanation and work. I would say they are on the expensive side; however, the products are top of the line in quality. We had our water heater installed and my father saw it and was very impressed by the brand. I know it is top of the line product which is good for a home simply because of it resale value. I would use them again.

Friday night the kitchen sink is clogged, called Thompson after hours and they agreed to come out on Saturday. Turns out the drain pipe from the kitchen to the basement was COMPLETELY filled with 50 years of sediment. It was a miracle water was flowing at all through this pipe. What we thought was a simple clog turned out to be much more detailed repair and much more expensive. The old pipe had to be removed and a new one installed, connecting to a different drain. The plumber completed the entire repair in one day, going out for parts and coming back later in the day. He was very professional explaining the repair each step along the way.

I appreciate that they come out to do routine checks on my plumbing system with no charge. They are very thorough and do great work. A while back I had them do some major work on my home and I think they installed one pipe incorrectly because it resulted in a flood in my basement, however they came back and fixed the problem. I will continue to use them again in the future.

They always try to sell something in addition to the job they came out to do.

I had one of the waste pipes leaking and they came up with an estimate of $22,000 or $23,000 to repair it. They did an emergency repair and then after my shoulder treatment, when I got out of the hospital and I was somewhat coherent and not flying on drugs, my husband decided to explain all that to me and of course I asked him if he had checked Angie's list and what the h*** was he doing with one estimate? I’m so demurred. It finally dawned on him that I was right. He did go back to Angie's list and I did take somebody of the list that was AAA and better business bureau, and all the stuff qualified. They had no problem and no hesitancy in bad mouthing. The people that we were going to use said that we would definitely be seeing them in the future because our decision was definitely erroneous and making a very big mistake. They stand there alone. I wasn't feeling good that day and he was trying to talk to me and trying to convince me to go against what I thought. The guy working in the basement was trying to tell me that the decision that I had already made was definitely wrong. I told them that even if he was the last plumber on earth, I wouldn't use him but the cement job that they did, looks good. They definitely had a product to sell but I wouldn't be using him in the future.

They are excellent. We would highly recommend them. We use Rick for plumbing and for anything to do with HVAC we use Ernie and they both are experts. They give us top quality with a good price. They don’t try to up-sell. They recognize that the homeowner most of the time is working on a budget. We have two rental properties in our home and we have probably used them thirty times over the last five or six years. The rental home we were doing it on is about seventy years old and they went through and checked everything thoroughly and basically said that the motor was a little warmer than it needed to be but they said there was no need to go out and replace everything. A lot of guys would have used that to try to sell us something but they don’t do that. They are just really good guys. We have these homes on what is called their club plan and I am not the person in charge of it. My wife is in charge of it. I think it is like $19 a month plan that we have with them. We call them and the service call is free. Like today they spent a couple of hours checking everything out. They offer some club plans that a pretty terrific. We would rate them highly and would continue to use them in the future.

He did the work & was very thorough.

.I would like to give them the most negative report that I can give them. I negotiated a cash discount. They also required a credit card. They scheduled the work on Thursday and canceled the work on Friday. They still charged the $10000.00 onto my credit card. It took them 2 or 3 days to get the money back on my card. They did not want to admit they did a wrong thing. I would never have work or refer them to do work for anyone.

Very well. Mike arrived on time, performed the maintance on the furnace and looked at our heating ducts and said they were very dirty. Finished his job and we completed the paperwork all within a timely manner. We look forward to working with him in the future for any of our ac/heating needs.

The service providers both in the heating/air conditioning and the plumbing were wonderful. Arrived when they said they would, cleaned up afterwards. They were professionals, from start to finish.

Closed gate valve to replace hose on washer. Valve started leaking. Checked Angies List for plumbing references. Choose Thompson because of rating and coupon. Called service number to schedule service call. Plumber showed up when scheduled. Provided reasonable quote. Agreed to price. Plumber replace valve. Plumber was very courteous, thorough and professional. Only downside, on call to the operator, operator spent more time trying to upsell additional services than taking customer information.

The technician was on time and called a half-an-hour ahead of time to let me know he was on the way. He was very friendly. He let me know what he would be doing ahead of time, about how long it would take, and asked if I had any questions. The technician was extremely thorough. He went over all of the paperwork, made sure I was comfortable with what had been done, and again asked if I had any questions. He also gave suggestions to keep our furnace running properly in the future.

Absolutely perfect. I had never used Thompson before but glad I found them. I've dealt with their switchboard/scheduling folks and their plumbers/technicians (Rick in this case) and they are all absolutely the best --- customer focused, expert, consultative and just a pleasure to work with.
