Furniture Medic is the area’s largest provider of furniture and wood fixture repair and restoration services for your home or office. We are experienced in reviving your cabinets, restoring water or smoke damaged furniture as well as furniture restoration. Our expert technicians can perform simple repairs on-site like repairing veneer chips, color damage, and structural repair. If the repair is more difficult or is an antique in need of restoration, we have a fully equipped workshop and the skilled craftsmen, trained to repair, refinish, restore or reproduce any item to its original condition.

Description of Work: They |- Attempted to remove water stains on top of the buffet. |- Reupholstered one sofa, added new foam & batting for cushions and pillows and touched up the finish on its wood trim. |- Refinished the dining room table to match the chairs. |- Inspected a 2nd sofa with sagging springs. | |As to how did it go, |- With the reupholstered one sofa, I was unhappy with the touch up on its wood trim. It appeared to have nail holes in it, from them reattaching it, and scratches. I told the company who said to email them photos with an explanation for each. Then, they would see what they could do. I didn't want to deal with all that hassle, inconvenience and with being without the sofa again. Also, I didn't know if I would be charged more. They didn't offer to send someone out to look at it. That offer would have made things a little better. |- The water stains on top of the buffet were not removed, but they did explain why that happened. |- About the refinished dining room table, I was somewhat disappointed that the black trim line on it had to be removed. Initially, I was told it would remain. Again, after the fact, they did explain why that happened. |

Description of Work: They repaired some items of furniture damaged during my move here from Delaware.They did excellent work,professional in all respects.My cost would be unrelated to anyone else's due to the particular circumstances-but I considered their charges were very fair. Description of Work: To clarify: I put he "did perform the service of estimating" and the estimate "was cost of service" Came quickly and let us know if the stair railing was a MAJOR problem or a minor issue. We ended up not buying the house, but would use him in the future!

He did a nice job. He was nice and polite. I am going to call him back. There are a couple of places that need to be done again. I thought the service charge was on the high side. The work that was done was very reasonable.

They fixed an antique dining room table leg that was severely chewed by a puppy. I expected it not to be repairable, but they repaired expertly and no one would know the difference. I took the leg into their shop but they will do repairs in home and also pick up. Estimate was on target and turnaround time quick.

Cedar chest looks brand new. Everyone I had contact with was courteous and professional.
Description of Work: Had a cedar chest refinished and the interior hinge repaired. Performed the work in their shop. Pick up was on time. Piece was finished and ready for delivery five days later. Drop off was on time. Emailed a photograph of the cedar chest and dimensions to Furniture Medic, for estimate purposes. Much more convenient than having one done in the home.

Did a great job. Technician showed up on time, fixed scratches (took him only about 1/2 hour) and you can't even see where the scratches are. Very pleased with the job.

I have heard no response. It is now 5 pm Wednesday. I contacted the office and the person answering the phone sounded disinterested and was not receptive. I have it rescheduled for tomorrow 1 pm. It has cost me a lot of inconvenience because a business is supposed to call you 2 hours ahead of time if they are running late. Utterly unprofessional. They still did not arrive for the reschedule the next day. I contacted the office again and spoke with the same disinterested woman, and she claimed that she did try to contact me. I have been home all day. I decided to just cancel the appointment all together with them and look for another company

POWER OUTAGES DID NOT ALLOW US TO ACCESS OUR COMPUTER THAT CONTAINED OUR CUSTOMER RECORDS. Went well. Scheduling was easy. He was here when he said he would be and it cost what he said it would cost on the phone. He got the job done quickly and didn't leave a mess. Seems to have done a thorough job and the chair is much better now. The hardware he used is much sturdier than what the manufacturer had originally used. This is a thousand dollar chair, so you would expect the hardware to be a bit more robust. I would recommend this service to anyone.
Description of Work: Repaired easy-chair at my home. Springs were pulling loose from the frame and a few of the connectors had pulled apart. It's a little too big an item to easily take down to the shop for repair.

Very agreeable to work with. The washstand looked as good as I expected, not perfect, but the damage was too much for that.
Description of Work: I had an antique wash stand repaired along with a cane bottom chair. The wash stand had severe damage to one corner that was replaced and the chair had to have a broken piece repaired & recaned.

DID VERY NICE JOB ON REPAIR. GAVE SEVERAL WAYS OF FIXING AND LET US CHOOSE. THEY DO HAVE A SERVICE CHARGE FOR GIVING ESTIMATES THAT IS REFUNDABLE IF YOU CHOOSE TO GO AHEAD WITH REPAIR. THEY PROVIDED A DETAILED QUOTE, TOOK THE TIME TO DEMONSTRATE TO ME EXACTLY WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO, AND FINISHED THE JOB ON TIME.
