Katie arrived on time for initial meeting and took measurements. We did not receive a quote at that time. We have left messages since that day and no call back. Poor communication. Wasted our time.

Excellent! The owners, Katie and Jim, were involved in every aspect of our project. They communicated frequently and were incredibly professional and supportive of us being 100% happy with our new floors. Prior to finding them, we had tried to do business with 3 other reputable floor companies here in Cincinnati and were completely discouraged (not returning phone calls, losing our floor measurements, not showing up for appointments, making a commitment to install floor tile that was out-of-stock...). Finding Floors International was a huge relief. Katie brought samples to my home, helped me make a decision and the floors were installed 3 weeks later. The gentlemen who installed the floors were perfectionists and did an amazing job. I could not be happier. My bathroom floors are gorgeous.

Okay, we did have them come out and do our whole upstairs flooring and our family room downstairs and our steps, but that goes back maybe two or three years ago. They were very good, we enjoyed having them here. Actually we're thinking about using them this year.

Had one glitch but it was promptly addressed in a satisfactory way.

Scheduling was a little confusing but once it was solved everything went smoothly. They showed up and did the entire house in a single day.

Everything relating to the work went very smoothly and professionally. The estimator was very helpful in helping us in selecting the carpeting color. The installer arrived on time and worked efficiently. He cleaned up all the old carpeting. We are delighted with our new stair carpeting!

I called the number that is provided for the company. A message was taken for our request that we have a time coordinated we could meet in their showroom or an alternative location to our apartment or the new property. We knew we had a tight timeline to move in once we closed and that companies were booking several weeks out for flooring jobs so we were trying to get decisions and a job on the books before we officially closed. Since we were past inspection and hadn't closed it really wasn't appropriate to meet with them at the new property. I was never called back. We found another company and now have beautiful new floors. This was a significant loss in potential business as we put in 1700 square feet of flooring.

Very well. We had a lot of heavy items and the installers did a nice job putting them back properly. The carpets look very good.

The part that went well was the actual installation of the hardwood. We didn't have choose from one of their selections as we were matching preexisting hardwood already in other areas of our home. The installers were extremely knowledgable, professional and the final product looks great. There are 3 parts that could improve. First is in the area of communication. From the first meeting throughout the 2 month-long process, communication was inconsistent at best. I constantly had to call, text, or email to find out: Did we have an installation date or when might the wood be arriving to become acclimated to the house and on and on..... all the way through to the final installation of the transition strip. Again, I had to email several times to ask when this might be happening. As a customer, this is very frustrating. Even if the answer is, "We aren't sure yet, or the product hasn't come in," why not let the customer know that, instead of letting them wonder? To me, that is just good customer service. The other area of needing improvement is time management. Even on the first visit to give me the bid, Katie was late arriving, and though she called to let me know that she was going to be late, there was no offer of an apology. This continued to be a concern again, throughout the process. Rarely did someone come or get back to us, when they said they would, and it wasn't until the very end of all of the did I ever hear, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience." That was from Jim, in the final email to get the transition strip installed. Finally, the area needing improvement is probably experience. Our job involved a tricky curve that they probably hadn't seen before and the initial plan was impossible for the installer to execute. Experience would have known that. So, I would say, if they can improve in communication and time management, and gain the experinece needed, they would maybe be a good company. Right now the best thing going for them are the installers.

Perfect. All time and cost estimates were on target and did not change. Workers were very skilled and were able to get carpet to fit perfectly around the curved parts of the stairs in our old house.

Work was performed by a subcontractor who showed up on time, worked quickly, was very courteous and did a great job.

From start to finish, Jim and Katie were fantastic to work with - completely professional and highly service-oriented in a way that is rare these days. I'd recommend them to anyone!

They did pretty good. They were reasonably priced. They did miss a carpeting strip but I never called them about it. They did it all in one day. They also cleaned up pretty good.

It was a great experience. Katie Fitzgerald came to the house samples saving my wife & I the trouble of having to drive to a showroom. She was extremely knowledgable & was great to work with. She did a great job of explaining all the options available to us in terms of fibers, styles, patterns, etc. We then visited several other carpet companies in town and, in the end, chose to have Floor Coverings International to the work. We chose a top quality carpet and pad which cost more than some others we had looked at, but feel we we got a good value. There was other work that had to be completed before the carpet could be installed & we did not have a firm date as to when that work would be finished. Katie was very willing to accommodate this uncertainty when scheduling the installation. She was also willing to have her crew install a stair runner that we had purchased elsewhere, something none of the other carpet companies we visited were willing to do. The installation crew was a father/son team who did a great job & it took less time than I was expecting. The next day Katie & her husband came to the house to do a quality check of the results and to review the care and warranty information with us. Overall, it was a great experience.

Considering the house is over 100 years old the job was not without its challenges. There were too many unknowns surrounding tearing out existing flooring (possibly several layers) so a plan was developed that would allow us to go over the existing floor and utilize the vintage doorway transitions. The installers were top-notch pros and definitely knew what they were doing. Pricing was right in line with other bids we had received. The purchase decision really fell to the differences on installation and what could be done. Floor Coverings International (Katie & Jim) offered options that other companies didn't and it worked! In keeping with the period of the house this was absolutely the right decision - the floor is beautiful!

When I decided to move forward with installing the wood flooring throughout the remaining portion of my living area I researched potential service providers on Angie's List. I reached out to Floor Coverings International (FCI) and within a few days of speaking with Katie Fitzgerald, we met and she took me through the process FCI goes through in completing the work requested, and gave me a quote. After about three weeks, Katie followed up with me to see if I had any other questions and whether I had made a decision. I was waiting on one more quote and after Katie got back with me on a couple of other questions that I had, we agreed to FCI doing the work. I was going to be on vacation during the week Katie was planning on FCI performing the work and when I indicated that would not fit with my schedule she said it was not a problem and the work was scheduled for the following week. A couple or so days prior to the start of the work, Katie and her husband Jim picked up the wood from their supplier and delivered the wood to my home, in two separate trips, so the wood could acclimate to the room temperature. They also gave me the names of the installers who would be doing the work and the time I should expect them. As promised, Chris and Steve were here as scheduled and ready to get to work. They took about 1/2 day to take up the carpet and ceramic tile, vacuumed, swept up and removed all debris from the demolition. Over the next two days, Chris and Steve installed the wood flooring constantly cleaning and vacuuming behind their work. I had moved into my townhome a year earlier so we didn't know if the wood that was ordered would match that laid down by the builder. Fortunately it was a perfect match and Chris and Steve were able to tooth the wood in so the floor looked as if it was all installed when my place was built. They did an outstanding job and tried their best to minimize the dust level and debris. This was my first time living through a remodeling project and although it was a relatively small job, any interruption can be an inconvenience. However, both Chris and Steve were focused on getting the job done and went about their work with a high level of professionalism and customer service. Prior to leaving each day, Chris advised me as to the time they would arrive the next morning and what the plan was for the next day's work; they were true to this schedule. This project was completed from Wednesday to Friday and later that Friday afternoon, Jim and Katie were wanting to do a walk through of the area to review the work completed but I was not available so this was done the following day. I was thrilled with the way the entire project was handled and the new look of my open living area! From my first contact with Katie through the end, I felt FCI was concerned about their clients and wanted them to know their project would be a priority and handled with a high level of quality. I would not hesitate to use FCI again.

We were putting our house up for sale and much of the carpet needed to be replaced to help the house sell. I had read good reviews on Angie's List about this company and called for a price. The call went to a call center and I got a little worried that I was not speaking to the local company with the good reviews. The person at the call center did a great job setting up an appointment within a couple days. At 6:30 pm on a Monday night, we met with Katie and her husband, Jim. Measurements were carefully taken and choices were presented. We wanted to cover 6 rooms which turned out to need 206 sq yds of carpet. The carpet was ordered and we were told that it would be installed in about a month - January 4th or 5th. As it turned out, it was installed earlier than that (December 30th and 31st). The installer was a father and son team. All the old carpet was removed and hauled away, New padding and carpet was installed. The job took two days and was dome carefully. This is a company that makes promises and keeps them.

It was great working with this vendor. They were very professional; answered my questions promptly. Everyone arrived exactly on time, had all the materials that were needed, performed the job promptly and efficiently and left the area neat and tidy.

The service tech jumped right into the project and did the job very quickly. We're very happy and recommend him to all.

Kate was very responsive in scheduling our initial appointment. She arrived on time and spent a lot of time with us discussing what we were looking for and recommended options. There was no hard sell or attempt to upsell to more expensive products. She had an electronic method of taking measurements, and was able to provide a written quote of everything using a mobile printer so we had the information to review afterwards. Kate is very professional and confident in representing her company. The installers arrived on time as well, and were very efficient, friendly and professional. They finished in less time than we planned, and did a great job of cleaning up and placing our furniture back where it belonged. After the installation, Kate visited again to inspect the installation job and make sure we were satisfied. All of the necessary paperwork was provided in an organized fashion. We are very happy with our new carpet and would definitely use them again.

The owners, Katie and Jim, were fantastic. They worked with us to choose a Berber carpet in a color that worked with our decor. The service and professionalism were great and the owners came the next day to inspect the job and make sure we were satisfied with the results.

We decided, very last minute, that we would like to replace our kitchen floor before Christmas. We made several calls to different contractors and companies - Floor Coverings International was the only one who promptly returned our call. An appointment was set for them to come to our home during the first week of December to present options for the floor. Katie & Jim Fitzgerald were so easy to work with - it's obvious that they really do know the flooring options inside and out. After choosing the product we wanted, we then went on to discuss the timing issue (wanting to have it installed before Christmas). They were very honest with us. As we assumed, it might be difficult to get it scheduled as it's a very busy time of year. But they assured us they would do their best to get it done for us. It was obvious that they worked hard to arrange this for us.....the floor was installed on December 10th, and we love it. Jim & Katie even delivered all the materials for the job because the installers were busy and couldn't get it to us the day before the install. The installers were very professional, and courteous, and they did a great job on the floor. It's been a long time since we've seen such a great example of customer service. We are planning on refinishing hardwood floors in the near future, and I'm sure the only call we will make will be to them!
