Floor Coverings International, Cincinnati East, Inc., is owned by Madeira resident Katie Fitzgerald. After a 22-year career as an executive with Procter & Gamble, Katie decided to start her own business, to create her own legacy. Her goal is to make the floor-buying process easier and more effective for her clients through her shop-at-home approach. Katie quickly established her business as one of the best in the city, earning the Angie's List Super Service award every year since opening as well as achieving an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. The franchise chain of which her business is a part, Floor Coverings International, is rated one of the top 100 franchises in the country by Bond's, an independent franchise-rating organization. Our approach is unique - a design associate visits your home (or business) and works with you one-on-one to help you choose your ideal flooring. Our mobile collection boasts more than 3,000 flooring selections. Because we have expertise in virtually all types of interior flooring and because we order by the job and carry no inventory, we are able to provide unbiased expert advice across a wide range of flooring choices. A highly trained Design Associate consults with you as you select the perfect flooring solution for your needs, desires, and budget. Selecting your beautiful new floor becomes a fun thing to do (and isn't that the way it should be?!). In addition to our mobile collection, our studio in Blue Ash (by appointment) offers even more product choices.

We did a complete renovation of our interior and Katie was by far the best and easiest to work with. We had so many problems with other contractors but she was quick, efficient, friendly and very professional. Carpet and wood floors were installed in a timely manner and the installers were very professional, explained in detail what they were doing and how long it would take them to finish. I highly recommend this company for any flooring needs you may have. Update: kitchen floor kept popping while walking on it only have it pulled up and then glued back down. These are not the type of planks that are to be glued down. After just a few weeks all we heard while walking in the floor was the cracking of the glue. I was made to feel like this was my fault since how. Questioning what I used to clean my floors had nothing to do with the glue cracking. Zero contact so after a while we had to go with someone else to actually help us fix the problems.

What a great experience we had with Floor Coverings International. We wanted to replace a 1987 peach colored ceramic kitchen tile with a stone look luxury vinyl. Katie came to the house with a few samples and helped us decide on color and tile. A couple weeks later it was installed over the ceramic tile after careful prep by installers, John Wayne and wife Debbie. Both conscientious, skilled workers. We are very happy with the flooring! Here are before and after photos.

Description of Work: Floor Coverings Int'l did a great job for us. We were moving into a new home and needed to replace flooring in our kitchen, as well as carpet in areas of the home. They helped us find the right products, and when a small issue came up after the install, they were incredibly responsive and fixed it right away. When the time came for some family members to remodel their kitchen, they took our recommendation and used Floor Coverings as well. They too were very happy.

Notably, this client wanted actual linoleum for their kitchen. A lot of people say they have linoleum floors, but hardly anyone really does. What many call linoleum these days is really sheet vinyl. Linoleum is a much older flooring, widely used until the 1950s. However, in this case the original kitchen flooring was linoleum and the client wanted the same material for reasons of authenticity. An interesting aspect of this job was the hallway subfloor; it was peaking. So we first had to level the subfloor before we could install the flooring. This issue occasionally crops up. It's sometimes difficult to see what is happening with the subfloor when it is covered by the floor. Subfloor repair can add expense to a project. While the subfloor issue made this job a bit more complex, we're happy to hear that the client said it "went well" and that she would hire us again.
