There is no doubt that we have the BEST looking lawn on our block which says alot because we live on a street of well cared for property! We will recommend Emes and Angie's List to everyone!

We had a lot - a LOT - of work that needed to be completed. With ongoing health issues in our family, we really have done the bare minimum this summer, and are lucky if we get around to mowing a couple times per month. So, we knew we needed help. I browsed through Angie's List and find a coupon for $379/12 hours of landscaping work and decided to give this company a try. Their reviews were pretty good (with exception to one review in particular that seemed to be some irrational old lady judging the people and not the work). So, I bought the coupon, and within an hour the company gave me a call back! It was a Friday, and they offered to come out first thing on Monday morning to take care of our landscaping! I was impressed that they would be able to come out so quickly. And true to their word, they arrived earlier than scheduled, with a crew of people, ready to work first thing on Monday morning. They sent a team of 5 people, and the coupon is for 12 man hours, so they were able to work for just a little over 2 hours. They got a ton done during that time, but our beds were so far gone that they weren't able to finish. So, we purchased an additional 10 man hours. When it was all said and done, our beds looked beautiful, our driveway and sidewalk were cleaned and edged, and two old, dead bushes were removed. I was very happy with the quality of the work. The crew worked hard the entire time they were there, and I felt very comfortable working with this company. I'd definitely use Emes again.

All's well that ends well. I'm happy and it worked out. With the way it worked out, I couldn't be happier and would hire the crew again, and plan to if we can get an accurate quote to begin with. Having been a landscaper, it makes me sad that I can't do it right now, and I appreciate their efforts. The company was very quick to respond to my "big deal" request, and called to make an appointment for a quote on Monday after a Saturday purchase. We set up a visit to establish a quote, and it happened on the Thursday of the same week. Unfortunately, there was a miscommunication about exactly what was supposed to happen. It was partially my fault, as I was not present when the representative was here. I did talk to him later that day by phone and explained, though, so what happened later is unfortunate. The gentleman who gave us the quote was inaccurate initially, then even more inaccurate afterwards. Talking with him, when I called to say "hey, I cleared the area, all I wanted you all to do is lay the paper down and spread the mulch" was just infuriating. All of the other folks involved with this group were great. The bad quote is troublesome, because I'd been quoted twice the hours to hand pull weeds (which I'd knocked out in 4 hours myself), and then almost got hit for an extra 10 or so hours in just moving mulch. I discussed this with the guy who originally quoted this to us only after the crew left while I was off-premises. During the conversation, he became so difficult to talk with that another supervisor took the phone from him. After a short discussion, that supervisor offered to move the additional couple of yards of mulch back to the garden with no additional cost. I told him that I thought that was a generous offer. The crew showed up, and I talked to them and told them I did not hold the crew accountable. I appreciate all of their efforts, including the supervisors (especially Ace) and I really appreciate the fact that I didn't have to haul all that stuff back. My advice to anyone using this company: get a detailed quote, and discuss it in detail. They're a great group, though.

We purchased a 6 hour landscaping services package for our newly purchased home. We happened to be going by when Drew and his crew were there working. Drew was very professional, and the work they performed was top notch. The bushes were overgrown, and the gardens were filled with weeds, but when they left, everything was perfect. I highly recommend Emes Lawn Care, and will be using them again.

Everything was excellent. The workers were professional and on time. They were very conscientious of what they were doing and worked with me on how I wanted things done. The clearing of brush they were doing was not a pleasant job but they dug right in. When finished they had me look to make sure everything was completed to my satisfaction. There were 15 minutes left of the 8 hours and they worked on other things for that time to make sure I got my money's worth. I deal with services all the time and this was a very good experience. A pleasant surprise.

Very nice to work with, got right to work and did as much as possible in the allotted time. I plan to set up a maintenance program with them. It is hard to find folks to do maintenance type yard work on a regular basis and at an affordable price! Great find!

I had the guy come out twice and he did a fantastic job on my yard. My hedges were like trees. He had to saw that down. He had to dig out the roots because the roots were so far down in the grass and the dirt. So, he had to take those out. Then, he brought in dirt to fill in what had been gotten out by digging up the hedges. He gave me some new dirt. He gave me some black topsoil. He put four new hedges in. I bought flowers. He edged the border where the flowers were put in. He cut out the poison ivy that I had in my front yard. He edged my two bushes. They were like hedges more so than bushes. They were bushes but they had gotten so tall and out of shape. He edged those. Then he cut the limbs of my magnolia tree and trimmed it up. It is just beautiful outside in the front. On the other side, he planted some flowers. He put in new soil. He put in that black stuff on top of the soil. I had one side that was nothing but trees and hedges and dead wood and stuff. He cut that down for me and he put in dirt. I'm happy with it. People were stopping by and telling me how beautiful my yard is. What I liked about them was that they had everyone. They had old, young, girls and boys and black and white too. They had everyone represented on their team and I really liked that. This was the first time that I used them and they were excellent. They came back and evaluated what they had done and gave me ideas on some of the things that I could do that would help. It was good.

I didn't expect a huge crew to show up and blow through the job, but miscommunication between my husband and I was an issue, too, as he wanted them to focus first on clearing leaves, which I had expected him to do! Haha

They cut it down in one yard, piled it in the driveway close to the street. One of the owners came to my door to tell me that they couldn't do all the work in the time that I purchased. They were supposed to send 4 workers, they only sent 3. We had a difference of opinion in how much time he still owed me because of them only sending 3 people. He called the co owner and he came and I purchased more time. I called Angie's List, and this company was recommended. I called and scheduled the work. They called and cancelled and they wanted to reschedule. I agreed to it. They didn't show up when I thought they should.. Not only that, they told me I had to haul away the debris. I understood that was all included when I purchased the deal. They said that Angie's List should have told me that I would have to pay extra to have the debris removed. They came back the next morning, they didn't call or knock. They removed the debris and that is the last time they were here. They did not come back to finish the rest of the yard work.

It went very well. The workers arrived on time and began to promptly complete all the work that we wanted done. They were very efficient and good at what they were doing. We were very pleased with Emes Lawn Co

We bought the mulch and they did the labor of putting it down. They told us how much mulch we needed and we bought a little bit less. There was still quite a bit left and when we came out they had put the rest of it on the driveway. They could have put more down and they said that we should have told them to put it down. That was the reason why we hired them. They were going to leave and just leave the mulch just sitting there. It was bad mulch and it was running down the driveway. I think they were OK, we did have to stay on them a bit. They were on time. I would probably use them again.

Everything went very well. They did exactly what we were looking for and did a great job.

That was horrible. I had to tell them to get off my property. The guy brought four or five guys with him who scared me. They have tattoos in their faces and look horrible. They wanted to over charge me for taking away the lawn debris but it was accorded in the account when I bought the deal. They lead man sat in the car and didn’t do anything and I paid him on an hourly basis also. He tried to intimidate me when I told him to get off my property. They loaded the debris in the truck and he wanted me to pay extra for it but I sad that I will not pay for that. He was scary.

The day the work was to be performed, Emes Landscaping was punctual. They arrived with 2 teams of 8 people. They were very organized, each person knowing what they were to do. I was very pleased with the end result. The back hill off of my deck looked so inviting and a perfect oasis to relax. Instead of bees and other unwanted insects we are now visited by the most gorgeous butterflies. They love the lovely perennials that were planted. Emes was creative and really helped me with pricing, as they knew I was getting ready to list my home. The house sold immediately! Thank you Emes!

Communication with the provider was terrible. Once I was able to get someone out to the house to discuss the project things went well. If I had not purchased a "deal" I may have not gone through the hassle. I have a number of beds that needed weeding and needed old mulch removed. The work performed was great. I am not sure if I would use them again because it was so hard to communicate.

They were very nice to work with; removed the tree and shrubs very quickly and neatly. I would use them again but I am not in their service area; used an Angie's online coupon which really helped.

Due to the weather, the appointment was delayed a couple of times. This didn't bother me as I was able to email a picture of the bushes and small tress I wanted removed. They called me to confirm what they saw in the pictures. I also tied string around the items to be removed. They came when I was at work and performed the job. I was impressed with the job and with the clean-up they did too. I was amazed at how clean they left the yard and driveway. I'd recommend this company.

The team A crew came with five individuals who never stopped working from the time they arrived until they left. They were knowledgable and careful in their work, making sure that no wanted plants were damaged. They worked so hard and conscientiously that I asked if they owned the business. I was surprised when they replied they did not. I had always done my own gardening work, but I would certainly use this company again.

1.) Communication with this company can be challenging, no one mans the phones during normal hours and if you get voice mail you do not get any return calls. I had to send an email TWICE in order to initiate a call on their part. They scheduled and then rescheduled at my convenience, due to weather, which I appreciate. Everyone was friendly and we felt the scheduling, was of ease if you can overcome the challenging of speaking with them live. 2.) The advertised price special is misleading as you will most likely end up with a multiple man crew and reduced hours. There were 5 people to show up for our job, but no one was 100% CLEAR on exactly how long they were to be here. I spoke to a manager the morning they were scheduled to arrive and he said they'd be here almost 2.5 hours since there were 5 people coming; but the crew was planning to leave in 2 hours until I went outside to speak with their crew chief and indicated what I had been told earlier by their Manager. I don't want to have to "debate" about time paid for, I feel their policy on this is very ambiguous. It should be clear, consistent and in writing - not a verbal misunderstanding amongst all parties. 3.) As Ive seen other reviews mention, not all the workers are actively working or working at a steady pace for the allotted time they are there. We experienced this. Plenty of time spent on smoke breaks or checking phones by some (not all), which diminished productivity in the 2-ish short hours available to us. 4.) Yard waste was put into paper bags we provided and set at the curb. However, they were packed so full - even they would not have been able to lift or carry them had we paid to have them lift and remove them. Several broke and we were left with a monster clean-up mess at the end of our driveway on trash day. It was a nightmare and we would've expected they be more mindful about how full and heavy the waste bags are. We gave the crew a small tip before they left, but had we realized we'd be doing their clean-up post visit, we would not have.

Landscaped my front and side yards. Quality was good, no issues. There were a couple of things I wanted done that weren't, but they did most of the work while I was not there, so it's not like I was able to closely supervise. The overall improvement to the appearance of my home was substantial.

Emes Lawn Care cut down huge honeysuckle in front yard, created a bed, and planted 5 endless summer hydrangea. Added mulch, trimmed honeysuckle along driveway, cleaned gutters in house and garage and purchased timed water box and sprinkler. Went above and beyond by stopping to manually water the hydrangea before automatic timed sprinkler could be found and installed. Installation of sprinkler was tricky and they persevered until the final solution was reached. All this with good humor. I would highly recommend them and plan to use their services again. Workers did a great job of removing leaves. Bushes and weeds in driveway were also trimmed. Very pleased with the work.

The work was very well done, exactly what we asked for in a timely fashion. the crew was professional and hardworking.
