Work: Came out quickly. Did a fairly good job getting the yard cleaned up. Couple of minor issues. They moved the leaves out to the street for local pickup. Not a huge deal but was expecting the leaves gone. Only cut a portion of the yard because the mower wouldn't fit through the fence. Fair enough but had a issue with billing explained below. Price: This job was billed hourly, per person on the job site. 4 People onsite but they only charged for 3. Job took about 3- 3.5 hours to complete. Which feels long considering the size of the property and the size of the team. At roughly $120/hour that adds up. Again considering the leaves weren't taken and dumped. But moved to the front of the property and onto the street. Billing: This is where the lower score comes in. Appears I was charged for half the mowing when only the front was cut which accounts for about 15% of the yard. No reduction in price for moving leaves for local pickup and not having to pay to dump. Invoice is not itemized breaking down the hours for work completed. So it's hard to confirm other than some quick math. Unclear how to pay them on the invoice. Turns out you pay through their website. The only method accepted is credit card and they charge you a 4% surcharge to pay via credit card. This doesn't sound like much but when you are doing lawncare and it's a large cost, this charge to pay your bill can grow very quickly. Even at just a modest amount of work done, the surcharge to pay them was about $20.

Excellent- crew is very friendly and professional! Extremely happy with the limestone paths they made. My yard now looks more than amazing! Recently had them back to winterize the yard and do leaf removal. They came in with blower backpacks and sucked up all the leaves! I wouldn't consider another company for my landscaping needs.

Initially didn't call me. Then they cancelled. Then they no-showed without even a call or text

The yard wasn't cut the way it is supposed to be cut it was still a little high in places had to ask to recut some areas and redo some trimming. Employee that trimmed wasn't very Happy to finish trimming. Paid to much money for the job they did

I contacted the company through angies list, they returned an email promptly stating someone would be calling me. Shortly after, I received a call from their very kind bubbly and professional representative. They scheduled a time and date to come out to my home. They arrived on time! The guy was very knowledgeable and detailed with the quote. We signed the statement. The time came for the crew to do the work. Beautiful! My yard looks fantastic! I told them that they will always have my business. We are very pleased with Emes Lawncare.

I had an appointment scheduled for 2/19/2020 at 1:00 pm to get a quote for the work I wanted done. They never showed up so I thought I would give them a second chance so I called and rescheduled for the next day at the same time. They never showed up and didn't call either day. All they had to do was call if they were running late or couldn't make the appointment. I would have considered rescheduling again, but I guess they don't need the work. I don't know if they do a good job or not since I couldn't even get them to show up to give me a quote.

Never responded. Called on 4/29 to set up appointment to go over work needed for quote. Was told by "Smitty" that I would be contacted the next day. On this call I was also told how service focused they were and that customer satisfaction was their mission. It is now a week later and nothing. Left VM on 5/2 and a message via their website asking for at least an acknowledgement of my request. This failure to respond tells me their service ethic is a myth and the risk of hiring them is significant. If they can't manage their time or care enough to return a phone call....

They never returned the outreach to them for a quote. 😖

We used Emes for lawn care last summer. We stopped using them after we got a bill for $510 for the first leaf removal last Fall. They did a nice job, but it was an exorbitant amount for a yard that is not large. They said people usually planned for 2-4 leaf removals per year. I find it hard to believe that people with normal-sized lawns budget $1000-2000/yr solely for leaf-clearing. For reference, it took me - an out-of-shape woman in her 40s - well under two hours to clear the back yard later that year. They had blowers, big vacuums, and a crew. (They said part of the price was for gutter-cleaning, but we had new covered gutters.) Emes did a speedy job with mowing ($50 each time for a medium-sized yard). They did a nice job with keeping the borders cleaned up and making an unkempt yard look much neater, although the riding mower scraped the grass off the top in some areas where the ground is uneven. (We're planning to landscape, so it wasn't a big deal.) The crew was very pleasant and hard-working. If you're going to use them, get a quote beforehand or you might get an unpleasant surprise when the invoice arrives.

I find it very frustrating trying to find anyone professional or reliable enough to do yard work I first contacted Mike Ward Landscaping and they couldn’t be bothered. I then called Lebanon Lawn and Landscape and they couldn’t fit me into their schedule, I don’t think they were interested either. I finally called Emes Landscaping because of their rating on Angie’s List. They had excellent reviews and were even given the coveted Super Service Award. I called twice and left a message, about three days a part, to give them time to respond but got no response. I decided to try one more time and called early in the day before they got started and a guy by the name of Mike answered. I told him what I was looking to do and gave him detailed information. He acted like he was interested and took down all my info. We set up a time to meet the next day at my house at 1:00 pm. I even repeated the day and time three times to make sure we agreed. I had to move a couple of things around, that I had to get done, for this meeting. Well, 1:00 came and went, 1:30 came and went, and 2:00 came and went, HE NEVER SHOWED UP, no phone call, no contact of any kind. I was flabbergasted. I just couldn’t believe that a business that supposedly had such a high rating would not only be so inconsiderate but be so unprofessional. When you tell someone you’re going to do something and you don’t, that tells me your word means nothing and you can’t be trusted. Actually, it’s probably better that I find that out now. Needless to say I will never do business with this…. outfit. I’m sure they’ll come up with some lame excuse or response like; oh we’re sorry for the miscommunication. There was NO miscommunication. I will make sure I spread the word about this business. This experience makes me question Angie’s List also. Denny Lynch

terrible! i scheduled but they didnt showed up. it wasnt worth my hassle/trouble They showed up and did some service but others that they supposed to provide they didnt showed up

I won't use another company for our mulch delivery. Emes does a fantastic job and their workers are thorough and careful around all of our plantings.

It went quite well, with a small misunderstanding re my hosta plants. (I said trim to the ground, and she heard "thin them out." I am hoping I will see some hostas pop back up!

Did a great job. Only reason i marked responsivelness as a C was because we had to wait to get an appointment.

Crew of 4 punctually showed up on time. I explained what work I needed to be performed. They started right away, did the work and cleaned up so well.

So here's my super-honest review of the work that was just completed. I hate everyone... but I would highly, highly recommend Mike Bowden and the employees that he brought. (I gave them a B in quality and punctuality because I didn't want to mindlessly give them all A's. The quality was actually way better than I paid for and the only punctuality issues were because of rain.) The crews varied from day to day but the 2 leads Chester and Doyle did a great job leading their teams. I was doing a lot of landscaping at once and didn't have a professionally mapped plan. So I was winging it in some areas and there were a couple of places where these guys suggested changes that made it look better than what I would have done. Doyle suggested a small retaining area using materials that were mostly in my garage that looks just terrific. It wasn't all perfect. I kept getting pushed out - because of the rain my job started late and took a lot longer than I thought it would. But they can't do anything about the mud. They drove a bobcat through what turns out to be my neighbor's yard. They should have made sure whose yard it was before they went up there. So that wasn't great -but they seeded it and put straw down and helped me explain what happened to my neighbor. The value? My best buy of the year. Mike sat with me at the end and explained where every penny went. He accounted for every hour of labor and every piece of equipment. I did this on a T&M basis, and I'm super cynical, so I was tracking the hours of all the labor and equipment. His number matched mine exactly -- there wasn't a single hour of "padding" in there. And the hours came in right at what he estimated it would be. And by the way, that was 30-40% less than the fixed bid quotes I got from two other "big name" landscapers. (And they wound up doing a lot more work than were in those original quotes, so they probably were half the price of 'the other guys.' So another reco - do it at time and materials with a trustworthy estimator, a little more risk but you'll probably come out ahead). I wish I had more work to give these guys.

When we have them come out, we usually have them come out twice a year and they do a great job.I was very pleased when they first came out and impressed with how quickly they did the work and the quality of their work. It was very professional. He's coming out to give us another quote and basically doing the same thing.I was real pleased with them.

I think it's a great price. I just was looking and seeing that they have all A's, but their price is a B. We've always had people help out with the large work in the yard, and I thought their price was great. They really focus in and work quickly. The crew that came out here was great. Some of them were the same, some were different. I've always dealt with the head guy that gives us a quote, and the guy I always talk to is the same, and he's very nice. I was surprised when I called him up this year, he knew who I was and had a record of everything like my address and everything, and actually remembered some of the work he had done last year. I was shocked. I was really very surprised.

We scheduled a time but due to excessive rain, Mike asked if they could reschedule. Even though they had to reschedule twice with me, it was ok. They did a great job. I recommend this crew and will hire them again.
