Description of Work: I was very pleased with the professionalism of Emes Lawn Care. They performed the work in my yard that we discussed and they checked several times during the process to be sure that I was satisfied. I will definitely have them back to do other work in the Spring.

Description of Work: We bought our first deal from Angie's list and ended up purchasing another 20+ hours of their team time to get my series of projects complete(this was all understood during my walk-thru with them). The team was professional and courteous and the work was completed on time and to my liking. We ended up purchasing another Angie deal for EMES and got the same level of consistency.

Description of Work: I dont feel I got a full three hours of work that I paid for. The clock started before I got there to guide them regarding what I wanted. I left to come home and find my beds 3/4 mulched. Finishing would have taken another 10 minutes but they left it uncompleted. I have since had another landscaping company come in. They did 3X the work in the same time period.

Description of Work: They all worked hard. My garden was a mess. Did a great job. Thorough. Did what I asked. I recommend them. Customers can purchase services with confidence.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal but decided not to use the service but they did quick to get back to use after we purchased the deal.

Description of Work: Weeded 2 large flower beds & trimmed hedges. Hauled all debris. Supervisor responded promptly, described services and parameters of the special. He was professional, as for the most part were workers - one was on his cell phone which sounded like a personal call while the supervisor ran a short errand. Two men for 90 min, for a total of 3 man hours, and the supervisor pitched in as well. The reason for the B overall rating is that one of the workers finished a little early, and I felt that he could have pulled weeds along the drive, or at least asked about them. I would use them again, and even asked for an estimate on a future project.

Description of Work: Great work. We bought the $99 landscape cleanup deal. They did a great job. I know I got my money's worth.

Description of Work: I purchased the $99 for three hours of flower bed cleanup and then purchased extra hours at $35/hour/person. The communications and set up were outstanding. They called back quickly, arranged a time and were clear about when they would call me back. A+ for responsiveness. | |I had them doing a lot of weeding and mulching and it seemed to go much slower than I had expected. I had several beds and was hoping they could do them all, but they only got to two and half of another (though they all are good sized). I have not hired landscapers before, so perhaps my expectations were too high. Mike explained that because they were weeding by hand it took quite a long time. They were working the whole time so I don't think they were slacking off or anything. Perhaps it was just a lot of work. I leave that to you - weed and mulch 2 1/2 beds with 7 man-hours. | |Two things I didn't like - one of the guys was smoking in my yard and while, yes, it is outside, I'm not a fan at all and would have appreciated it if he smoked only in his own truck and off my property. And also, for part of the time he was telling me what else I could do on my property and I really was feeling like the clock was ticking on my dime and I wanted to stay focused on the job at hand, not pay to chit chat. | |All tolled, however, I think they did a good job. I probably would hire them again, but if I had a project today, I would try out another few companies first to see if it was a better fit with my expectations. But I think Emes, given their great communication, friendliness and good work is a good option.

Description of Work: I purchased the deal, 4 hours of landscaping for $119 as a gift for my brother and sister-in-law. I was super impressed by their communications, they called me back swiftly to confirm the purchase and hear more about the project. There were some extenuating circumstances since it was a gift - e.g., I was paying, they had my phone number, but I didn't have the details of the job, etc. But they handled all this very well. My sister-in-law said they did good work. One of the things they were doing was trying to dig up a rose of sharon that had suckered all over. She said they did spend too much time on this and so consequently were not able to finish everything she hoped for, but after breaking a shovel even, they were able to finally get out the rose of sharon. So I think overall it was good!

Description of Work: They removed some dead bushes, weeded and trimmed some of landscaping. My experience with Emus was certainly not what I expected from the reviews. I bought the 8 hour deal on Wed. Jason promptly call the next day to discuss what I wanted done. He said he would come out on Sunday and go over everything with me. He didn't show up or call to cancel. He called on Monday and said he had a cancellation for the afternoon could they come out to work ( I had explained up front that was the only day i was not available) so I had to say no. He scheduled me for Thursday that week. I stayed home all day and they didn't show up or call to say they couldn't make it. I called Jason on Friday he was very apologetic, and said he would do whatever to meet my schedule. I ask if he could do Monday morning and I would like 2 people for 4hours. He said that's fine they would be here at 9:30am. They showed up at 10:30am with 3 people. They were very nice and professional, and I showed them what I wanted done. Most of what they did was very good, but for 8hs of labor that I purchased I didn't get very much done. They didn't come prepared with tools that worked (had to borrow screwdriver). So needless to say I had A very bad experience overall and therefore I will definitely not use them again. This was the first time I had used Angie's list so I am a little skeptical about using again.

Description of Work: Angie s List special deal. Took out overgrown wisteria and climbing rose. Dug holes to plant a number of plants. Did a nice job. A little pushy about the fact that the owners don't make any money on the special deals. I would definitely consider them for specific jobs that were contracted for at a set price.

Description of Work: I purchased a deal from Angie's List for three hours of flower bed clean up for $99. | |My main concern was a 41' bed running along the length of my home that was almost entirely overgrown with weeds and groundcover, along with a few other accent areas that I pointed out. | |I didn't expect that the entire job could be done in three hours, and just gave the team my priorities (side bed cleaned & ready for mulch, 2 rose bushes trimmed, accent area around lamp post cleared, large bed in back cleared). | |I was delighted to find that the team was able to clear everything in the 3 hours I had purchased; the beds were cleared, bushes trimmed, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had cleaned up some weeds growing through cracks in our driveway as well. | |They were very vigilant about scheduling (I heard from them within two days of buying the deal, and the work was performed inside of that week). The crew manager that did my initial walk-through was very professional and knowledgeable, and the team left my yard well groomed and clean of debris. Would definitely hire Emes again.

Description of Work: Services: Hedge trimming and mulching | |EMES came out to my property to give an estimate the day after I contacted them via Angie's List, and performed the services two days later (and one day earlier than promised). I happened to be at home when the 4-person crew worked on my yard. They took about 2 hours and did a wonderful job with the trimming, mulching, and clean-up. My front yard has not looked that good since I've owned the home and as a bonus, I was able to personally thank the crew for their work.

Description of Work: They weeded, trimmed, pruned, spread Preen and close to three cubic yards of mulch in our mulchbeds, under our tree and around our mailbox. A team showed up to do the work and after two hours they completed and cleaned up. It went smooth and quick.

Description of Work: They did a great job of cleaning up the areas around our house and yard. The only issue that didn't get done was where I asked that they remove small shrubs and seedlings around the house. There was one seedling still standing in one area, and the seedlings growing up around one of our trees weren't touched. They did a great job mowing the grass that was 4 feet high, they also cleaned up the flower beds from all the branches and shrubs that were an eyesore in our front yard. Overall they were very good.

Description of Work: We bought their eight hour deal to clear our back hill and help remove rocks from the side of our yard. Since the main focus was to clear the back hill of the debris, the other jobs they began were appreciated, yet they were all left half done. When given the estimate on the time needed to clear the hill, the guy also listed the other work which included cleaning up our ivy and trimming some bushes. He said that they should be able to complete all of it in the 8 hour window with potential need for one more hour. We opted to not do the extra hour which is why we understood why the bushes didn't get trimmed but the rest of the work should have been done in our opinion. They were very timely in scheduling and the estimate was even done while on the phone with me and in the rain because I was delayed in getting to my home to meet them in time. However, the timing of when they would do the work was not clear and so I waited at my home the morning I thought they would be there only to have them arrive an hour after I left.

Description of Work: They did a great job removing unwanted shrubs and trimming trees in the backyard and laying down mulch. But I was not happy with their pricing and their professionalism. Their invoice calculation is incorrect and I called them to say they charged me an extra 1.25 hours for three people that is $138 (including tax). There was also a $130 dump fee that i was not aware of, until the end of the day when i saw the invoice. They were very quick in the first 3 hours in the morning. But then in the afternoon they were gone for 2.5 hours for which I was charged for 3 people. After returning they were very very slow. I would not recommend using the deal that they offer or ask them to use the hourly rate. It is better to fix a price and then have them come over. They do a great job, but fix a price before they come.

Description of Work: We bought the special advertised on Angie's list. Before they started , we agreed that if we wanted them to continue working after the agreed time in the advertisement ,. we would pay them $35.00 an hour . The work they did was very good and exactly what we asked them to do. |we asked them to continue working past the originally agreed amount. The work they did amounted to 22 man hours. They finished everything that we asked them to do. we are enjoying a beautifully manicured front and back yard. I would use them again without hesitation.

Description of Work: Driveway snow removal. They were solid. Had a minor mishap with not receiving our contract which prevented us from getting snow removal one very snowy day until the following day. They apologized and came back ASAP.
