About us

Dial One Security, Inc is a locally owned and operated security business that has been serving the Greater Cincinnati Area for over 35 years. We also own and operate our own UL Approved Central Station for monitoring of alarms. We are an Authorized Honeywell Security Dealer. Our main offices are located in the Cincinnati community of Madisonville and unlike the large national companies, or online DIY security providers, Dial One Security believes in taking an active role in and giving back to our local communities. With the volunteerism and support that we provide to numerous charities and organizations in the region, we are able to make the places where we work and live better for all. Our Systems are installed by our employees that have the experience and the products to deliver complete home security alarm systems that are reliable and easy to use.

Description of Work: The representative came over and assessed our needs, gave us a few options, and we chose one. A service man installed a new control panel (ours was 25 years old, two new key pads, and a wireless alarm for the newly replaced front door. He demonstrated how the system worked and made sure all existing alarms were in working order before leaving.

Description of Work: My home alarm system broke and the company that was responsible was not responsive. I would call and ask for a call back and never received one. It would seem that the owner had semi retired to Florida and the only guy he had to service his customers had disappeared. I looked on Angie's list and saw that Dial One had received great reviews. I spoke with Paul, who arranged to come over and look at my system. Because it was not a proprietary system, Dial One was able to repair it and assume responsibility for monitoring my home. The sent out Mike Brown, who was skilled in my system. He spent the morning replacing batteries and swapping out the former circuit board. By noon he had the system up and working like a charm. The whole process cost $100 with a 3 year contract for less per month than my former service. Couldn't be more happy. In my opinion, the former guy should fully retire since he doesn't appear to be interested in his customer's needs. Dial One could not have been more professional or responsive.

While we did not go with this company, they did an excellent job evaluating our exposure. Was very prompt, friendly, and knowledgeable. We ended up going with Cincinnati Bell. Overall pricing was similar, but was able to put cost of system in monthly installments on our phone bill. Additionally, we had just moved our cellular and this gave us the opportunity to bundle.
Description of Work: Full house protection, including fire and motion detectors. Central Station Monitoring. Price quoted was $1300 plus $21.95 each month to monitor.

THE SECURITY SYSTEM WAS ACTING UP (UNFORTUNATELY AFTER THE 1-YEAR WARRANTY EXPIRED). THE TROUBLESOME "GLASS BREAK DETECTOR" WAS MOVED AND THEN TRACED FOR SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE THE WORK ORDER WAS CLOSED (TO MAKE SURE IT WAS FIXED). THE TECHNICIAN WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND EXPLAINED THAT THE DETECTOR HAD BEEN MOUNTED TOO CLOSE TO A METAL BEAM. WE WEREN'T CHARGED BECAUSE IT WAS CONSIDERED A WARRANTY CALL. (THEY'D BEEN OUT BEFORE FOR THE SAME PROBLEM.) WE'RE VERY HAPPY THEY HONORED THE WARRANTY.
