Description of Work: Winterized and closed my pool. I've been using Bud and his crew for many years. Generally, he is very responsive. There have been times the staff didn't execute as well as they might have, but he always made it right. Prices are on par.

Description of Work: We used Cross County Pool Service to replace our swimming pool liner, which had just been replaced only 3.5 years earlier by Aquarian Pools and Spa. | |Needless to say our experience with Aquarian Pools and Spa was awful, so this time around we signed up for Angie's List so that we could find an experienced provider with high customer ratings. We're happy to say that our experience with Cross County Pool was a night and day difference from the one we had with Aquarian in a very good way. The Cross County lead installer on our job was highly knowledgeable. He gave us some pool tips that were very useful. The office folks were highly communicative during the entire process. Their pride of workmanship, professionalism, and actual work was top notch. They apologized that it took a while to get the liner from the manufacturer after we ordered it, which is certainly not something under their control. | |Unlike the Aquarian folks who were determined to get the job done quick, which included making some executive decisions that resulted in significant up charges without ever even attempting to call us and ask our permission, the Cross County folks were determined to get the job done right. | |As a specific example, the Cross County installer made an extra trip to our house because it happened to be unseasonably cool when the liner was installed and he wanted the weather to warm up a bit so that the liner would be more pliable as he completed the finishing touches around the pool steps. A nice small touch from Cross County was their installation of a return plate and valves that actually matched the blue color of the liner. | |While we weren't enthused to have to replace our pool liner, that typically should last a solid 12-13 years, after just 3.5 years, we are glad we made the choice to go with Cross County Pool Service this time around.

Description of Work: INstalled new swimming pool filter and chlorination system and opened the pool. Personnel were prompt, courteous and knowledegable. Workmanship appears good and products are first line national brand. It will be sometime before final grade is possible, depending on how systems operate.

 + -1 moreQuoted me $200ish to open the pool, but ended up charging me over twice that with add-on costs that they neglected to mention. The water was green and unswimmable which they promised they'd take care of and it'd be good to swim in within about a week. It just needed shocked. A week later, the pool was still green, and unswimmable. Again they promised they'd take care of it. Long story short - 4 weeks later and the pool was still unswimmable. I switched to another pool company and the water was crystal clear within a week. It was also around this time that I noticed that Cross County had been charging me $150/week instead of the $50 they quoted (again, add-ons they neglected to mention). When I refused to pay, they simply charged my card without my permission. This company is the worst I've ever dealt with, for any service.
Description of Work: Opened the pool. Weekly maintenance/cleaning for about 4 weeks before I finally gave up on them.

 + -1 moreTHEY CAME THE SAME DAY AND ON TIME. THEY DID THEIR WORK AND THEN THEY BROUGHT ME OUT AND EXPLAINED WHAT EXACTLY THEY DID AND WHAT CHEMICALS I NEEDED TO ADD AND THEN TOOK CARE OF IT. ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS AND MY POOL IS RUNNING GREAT.

 + -1 moreTHEY SHOWED UP LATE AND WITH LACK OF PARTS, LACK OF TOOLS, AND THE TOOLS THEY HAD WERE IN POOR CONDITION. THEY HAD A SEVERE LACK OF DESIGN KNOWLEDGE. POOR IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DESIGN. ALSO PERFORMED POOR AND UNSAFE WORK (FAILED TO GROUND WIRES, THUS VIOLATING CODES). THEY MADE THE VALVES IMPOSSIBLE TO GET TO. THEY USED SCHEDULE 40 VALVES (POOR GRADE). WHEN I TALKED TO THE MANAGER, I COULD HEAR HIM BASICALLY TELLING EVERYONE OVER THERE THAT THE CUSTOMER (HE USED A LESS FLATTERING TERM) ON THE PHONE THOUGHT THAT HE KNEW MORE THAN HE DID ABOUT THE WORK.
Description of Work: REPLACED A SWIMMING POOL PIPE MANIFOLD. THEY WERE ALSO SUPPOSED TO TROUBLESHOOT WHY THE POOL WAS LEAKING.
