I would highly recommend Cross County Pools for any pool repair. Bud the owner, is very knowledgeable and suggested I use straight pipes not the flexible kind. Other quotes were for the flexible pipes because they are easier to install but not as durable. The entire crew was very professional and I would recommend them for any pool related job!
Description of Work: I needed all of the pipes replaced from my filter to the inground pool while the rock patio decking was removed.

We have an in-ground "True-L" at a house we bought 2 years ago and the liner gave out. Well, we had a difficult time finding a company to even do the quote. Some companies came and quoted, then two of them said no they were too busy after they quoted. When we called Cross Country they showed up on time and quoted the job. They were clear about most of the add-on possibilities (all the visible ones). My final bill was less than I had anticipated after we discovered some rust and needed metal replaced behind the old liner. Everyone involved was professional. Our install was delayed by a few weeks (Cincy had a lot of heavy rain in the weeks before my install was scheduled). The Install leader was awesome, answered a ton of my questions and they did a very professional job. Overall Cross Country Pool Exceeded my expectations! Day 1 pool drained (~35,000 gallons) and new liner removed Day 2 Metal work track and liner replaced Day 3 Liner was in and pool was filling Day 4 Final steps were completed

Company claimed they could not do the work because my pool water was low, however they lowered my pool water when they closed nt pool for the weather. Then they claimed to have added 4 cases of chemicals to my pool however when I tested the pool the chemicals were not present. I contacted the store and *BUD" informed me I would have to pay them to come back out to do the job they where original hired to do. I then questioned weither they added the chemicals given the test I ran, and BUD replied prove we didnt add it. I went onto Express how rude and non customer friendly he was, and he stated your **** right I'm rude. Who want to pay money for this type of treatment.

Once the liner was ordered, the guys showed up within two days to get the measurements, and when the liner came in two weeks later, the guys came out and installed it in two days. The liner looks very nice and the guys did a good job. I am very pleased. Nice company to deal with.

They initially arrived on Friday (6/10/16) to open our in-ground pool. We had just bought the house and the people who owned it before did not close the pool properly. There was a lot of algae so the servicemen were going to have to return the following week once the pool water was clear. I wasn't home, but my wife was and was ok with their first visit. We had them come back out the following Tuesday, and I worked from home that day so they could walk me through how to maintain the pool. We also had them vacuum out the pool since there was a lot of debris at the bottom. The serviceman walked me through everything, and I was satisfied for the most part. He showed me how to remove the big filter from the canister. He cleaned the large filter and put it back in the canister. I stood directly behind him as he was putting the large filter and canister back together. He showed me the o-ring around the bottom portion of the canister, and instructed that I make sure that doesn't come unseated. I then observed closely as he went to tighten the large black ring that keeps the top part of the canister from separating from the bottom part of the canister. I watched as he forcefully tightened the ring, but the one thing I didn't hear was a click, which means the ring has engaged two of the four plastic fingers that protrude from the sides of the bottom canister. This click signifies a successful and secure connection, and the top part of the canister won't separate from the bottom part of the canister. I wouldn't know how important that click was until a few days later. The servicemen were just about finished. They showed me how to test the water for chemical levels. He started the pump, and showed me the operation that should happen. Water wasn't coming into the system like it should, and he then realized the water level was too low. Water wasn't making it into the skimmer. The water level was too low due to the fact that they vacuumed and pumped water out of the pool. He turned the pump off. We did have the water hose running the entire time the other serviceman was sweeping the pool, but it wasn't putting water in faster than it was being pumped out. The instructions they left were run the water hose until the water level is about 1/2 to 3/4 the height of the skimmer box, and then turn the pump on. I did so, and things worked as they said. Luckily a few days later I got up in the morning and looked out our kitchen window to see our pool fountain cutting on and off. I noticed the water level in the pool had dropped about 6"-10". I turned off the pump, and I filled the pool back up with the water hose. When I turned on the pump again, water started gushing out of the large filter canister. I proceeded to turn the pump off, remove the black ring that fastens the canisters together, remove the top portion of the canister, inspect the o-ring, look down into the filter, put the top portion back on, fasten the black ring, and then I heard and felt the all important click...meaning the black ring had securely fastened the top part of the canister to the bottom. I immediately knew this wasn't done by the serviceman because I remember watching him struggle to fasten the black ring, and I stood directly behind him so I could take notes and there was no click noise when he fastened it. Basically he must of had in on crooked which is why it was so hard for him to fasten. It was on tight enough to keep water from being pumped out initially, but after a few days of vibration the canisters worked free enough to start pumping water out the side. When I informed Cross County Pools of the error, they basically said I was lying and since service man left with the pump off it was on me.I took electrical mechanical systems in school, and have 2 Masters degrees...I'm not an idiot and could see the Cross County Pools serviceman did not fasten the black ring correctly. I called and just asked for some percentage off my bill. I would have be happy with anything...even 1%. Had I not of caught it, my pump would have burned up. Had I of been lying I would not have taken the last 30min to write this. Needless to say I will never be using Cross County Pools again. How they handled this customer service issue is unacceptable. The owner didn't even have the decency to call me to investigate, or call me a liar to my face. If anything his serviceman was lying for fear of getting in trouble. We're all human, and we all make mistakes, but to put their serviceman's mistakes on me is absolutely RIDICULOUS! I will now try and work with my bank to see if I can dispute the entire charge they had already charged my credit card.

No work performed, I did not want to pay in advance.
Description of Work: I responded to a card I received in the mail for 10% off. After attempting to schedule a pool opening I was told I had to pay the entire labor in advance because they have had customers credit cards that could not cover the cost. I don't want to pay in advance for a service. So I will not be using their service.

I made the reservation to have my I ground 20' x 40' pool liner replaced in October 2014. Cross County Pool quoted a price and I placed a 35% deposit to have the liner installed in the Spring of 2015. Cross County Pools contacted me in early March 2015 to set the install date. I was great that they called me! I didn't have to track them down. We set the install date and they arrived as promised. They did the job right. It took 3-4 days to vacuum behind the new liner do to the wet spring we had. The install was fantastic! As I was filling the pool, I noticed a 24" bubble in the shallow end of the pool. The installer warned me that might happen. Cross County Pools came out the next day and fixed the problem, no charge. It's been 3 months and the liner is great. No wrinkles or bubbles. The liner is hanging great. Also, during the install, they recommended I paint the white trim around the pool. They told me what paint to use and where to buy it. I didn't have time to paint the trim myself, so they charged me $100 which I thought was very reasonable. I recommend Cross County Pool Service to everyone I meet.
Description of Work: Replaced 20' x 40' swimming pool liner. Also painted trim around pool.

There was an issue right from the beginning because I preferred that they drain the pool along the right side of the house down the driveway instead of through the landscaping and grass. Then I had to mention that the pump was still running after they had drained the water down below the spouts. The worker thought he had turned it off but hadnt. He moreless was arguing with me about it, but then realized he hadnt turned it off, but never did apologize. I didnt like their attitude and complained to the owner. They finished the tear off of the old tile, but neglected to remove the plastic strip molding. I mentioned this to the tile install guys who showed up the next day and they took care of that. They took several days to install the tile. On the last day, after they finished, it rained and I didnt get a chance to inspect the work until the next day. I noticed that there were several spots where the grout was spotty. I called the owner and he agreed to send someone out. Instead of sending the skilled tile installer, he sent his other workers out to put something on the tile. It looked ok when they were done, but several days later when it rained, the grout washed off. Then I noticed that they hadnt tiled the inside top part of the skimmer. When I called the owner about this in July, he claimed there never was tile there and he had pictures to prove it. I asked him to send them to me. I told him that there is netting left there from the old tile and there is no reason that netting would be there unless tile was there. He asked me to send him pictures We went back and forth on this for several weeks. At one point I sent the pictures to the wrong email address. It apparently was a good email address, but not one he checks. By this point it was August. Bud said he would look at the pics and get back to me. More time went by. Then he agreed to tile it but wanted to do it when he closes my pool. I was not agreeable to this. Since I had already paid for this job, I wanted it done now before we moved forward with anything else. He said he would talk to his tile man and get back to me. More time went by. The tile work was finally completed on 9/3/2014. When John, the tile man arrived, he immediately started mouthing off and being rude. At one point he called me a "dumb s*** nit wit" and said I didnt know what I was talking about....claiming the skimmer top had never been tiled when I know he had been. I didnt say anything to him, but documented his conversation. My handyman was also present while he was there. He told me not to call him or Bud if the tile comes off next spring because they arent going to take my calls. I think it is safe to say that I will NEVER call this company for anything ever again. Nor will I recommend them.
Description of Work: They were to remove old tile, include the plastic strip molding and install new tile. After grouting, they were to acid wash the pool.

I do use them to close and open my pool every year. They are prompt. They know their stuff. I do not have the feeling they are "guessing" when they tell answer a question. This latest problem was easy, I was shown and now close off some of the intake valve. My pool holds 38000 gallons so it large
Description of Work: I had them show me how to use my equpment to vaccum my pool. They replaced the motor to my pump as the old one died at the end of last season. It seemed to me that the vacuum did not have the suction that I had had with the old motor/pump, even though the water coming to the returns had the same power as last year. I was puzzled, so i had them come out. Cross County did a conversion from a Utopia Pool to a sand filter in 2010. I thought they did a fine job then, and

Our old pool liner was torn from the hard winter and cross county came out and measured the pool and ordered a new liner. They came out and drained the pool , removed the old liner , did any patch work that had to be done , and worked long hours the first day. They installed the steps and the new liner and started filling the pool. They came back for the next 3 days and as the pool filled they took care of any wrinkles . The pool is now open . We would recommend cross county pools to anyone.

We had a new pool liner installed. We have an unusual shaped pool. I asked if it was a job they could handle. We were told absolutely. The day they came out to install, they could not get the liner to fit. They left and did not come back for a week. The owner had to come out to try to fix it. There is a gap at the top edge by our deep end. There is also a large pebble or rock under the liner in the shallow end that is sticking up through the liner. I am just waiting for it to poke through. Maybe if you have a basic square pool they could handle it, otherwise I would go elsewhere. The owner was personable and responded to our calls, but I felt the owner should have been at our house the next day trying to remedy the problem, not a week later.

I used Cross County about 12 years ago to replace a liner, so I had high expectations that it would go well again. I was not disappointed. Crew arrived on the scheduled day, pumped down the pool, did the work required to get the floor patched, the liner installed and water started to fill the pool. They used an auto shut-off such that the pool would not be too full when they came back. On the second trip, they cut around the steps and got all the wrinkles removed --- there are no visible wrinkles in the pool. The final trip they installed face plates, etc and did the plumbing to fix the leak in the PVC pipe. They tried to start the pump to confirm the motor was bad before they installed a new one. Final step was installation of the new motor. I ask a lot of questions when people are working at my home. The installers were very accommodating, answered my questions and did what appears to be an excellent job. I am very satisfied.
Description of Work: For the $3000 cited above, pumped pool down, removed old liner and hauled away, did some patchwork on floor, replaced pool liner and installed new skimmer face plate, new return face plates, main drain frame and grate. For additional cost, which was throughly discussed belfore the job, I also had them replace a section of cracked PVC that was leaking and install a new motor on the pump.

Wonderful to work with. We will never use our previous company again. They called two weeks after our initial phone call for the repair. Cross county did all the warrenty work even though they didn't install the heater. They came out in december when most other companies are closed. Superb service
Description of Work: we have an indoor pool. We were having a holiday party when the brand new heater (installed by another company), started making a terrible noise. It is tough to find someone to work on a pool in December. They came out fixed the heater in minutes, recommended other things that we could do for a our pool. They were responsive and fabulous to work with. The repair tech came in on his vacation day to help us out. IT WAS SO WONDERFUL to have such great service
