Cooper Electric

Excellent. The job took about 3 hours, and was scheduled within 2 days of when I called. They didn't give a written estimate, but gave me an idea of how much it might cost. The final price was within $25. The ceiling is plaster and wood lath with a textured paint finish, so we were concerned about having to patch holes in the ceiling. We had originally planned a switch location near the front door, but this would have required wire mold on the front wall (solid brick), and multiple holes in the ceiling. Cooper suggested an alternate location for the switch which allowed wiring to run inside a new partition wall previously added (and was drywall, so easier to repair), and the switch is only two steps from the door, still easy to get to when getting home after dark. He was able to complete the installation with no holes in the ceiling (other than for the fixture itself), and only two small holes in the drywall, for which he left the cut-out pieces intact for us to make the repair.

Our job was so big that the electricians were there for 2 1/2 weeks. They worked very hard. Tony was on the job at 6:30 AM on many of the days. He put in extra hours on Saturday to correct an unexpected issue. Dave the other electrician deigned the lighting in the kitchen which turned out very good. There was a lot of work done and it was managed very well. The inspections went well so I know the work was done to code. I trust this company.

The technician arrived promptly. He began by checking the circuit breaker and determined that the problem was probably a circuit. He then checked each outlet in the two rooms served by that fuse and determined where the short was located. He then fixed the short. He was probably here for one and a half to two hours. Very polite, courteous, and professional.

I was able to get an appointment for the day following my call. Bryan came early and was very professional. There was a bit of difficulty with the hardware included in the light kit that I purchased, but he found a way to make it work. He cleaned up after his work and all went very well.

They really didn't do any work. They had installed a four-gang with GFCI outside. I called and told them the GFCI won't reset. They came out and told me that the outlet needed to be powered to reset the GFCI. Why didn't they tell me this when they installed the GFCI or over the phone? Or why didn't they realize that they should have told me and not charged me the $90 dollar service charge?

We were very pleased with Cooper's straight-forward inspection of the aluminum wiring in a home we didn't end up buying (due to their assessment that it was unsafe). They did give the seller an estimate of the repairs needed but they refused to undertake the work. Thanks to Cooper's inspection we were able to decide on another house with copper wiring that was much safer.

I have used them before and have always been satisfied with their overall quality of work.

The electrician diagnosed the problem as a short in outdoor lamp post. To remedy immediate situation the outdoor wiring was disconnected. As a result, the breaker reset and electricity restored to the portion of the house affected by that breaker. I requested an estimate on rewiring the lamp post. The electrician said that he would inform the office and they would send someone out to give an estimate. I have never been contacted by their office regarding the estimate. The electrician did not give us the Angie's List discount because I did not have a hard copy of the online coupon. Because our home printer was not functioning, I asked him if I could log onto the Angie's List website to show him that we are indeed members. He said that that would not be acceptable because he was required to attach a paper copy of the coupon to his paperwork. I felt that the position taken was unreasonable.

On time and courteous service. The outlet was repaired in a reasonable time frame and at a reasonable cost (relative to what I know about charges for electrical work).

Actually arrived early. Performed the jobs in reasonable amount of time. Seemed skilled and pleasant. Overall experience was very good, reasonably priced.

The electricians from Cooper Electric were always on time, worked diligently, elegantly solved all of our electric dilemmas, were very polite, completely cleaned up after themselves and were outstandingly professional. I will whole-heartedly recommend Cooper Electric Company to all.

They've done what we asked them to do. There was one time when they were not able to get here and said they couldn't get here for three days. At least they were honest about it.

Discussed one potential inspection issue with me (wait on clamp replacement on water supply which was not readily accessible). Inspector approved work and agreed with decision on clamp.

Punctual and provided clear explanations. Have been using Cooper Electric for over 8 years now, for both our old houses, the last one nearly 100 years old. Service-people always familiar with the kinds of old wiring they encounter, very alert to safety issues, always suggest reasonably priced but thorough fixes. A very trustworthy company for very important work. Highly recommend.

They were on time, friendly, and cleaned up.

The electrician Steve was on time, did excellent work. Cost was not low- $90 for first half hour, $80 per hour after that, charged in 15 minute increments, but was very knowledgeable and efficient, and offered advice on other electrical related problems that were not being repaired this visit.

Steve, the electrician, is knowledgeable and efficient, and does good work. This was a followup visit, after ordering some parts. Visit was on the day previously scheduled.

Cooper's employees were prompt, courteous and informative. They were careful not to chip paint and cleaned up after themselves. They are very honest. A fixture I thought needed replacing only need a small adjustment and so I was able to keep the original. They could have taken more time and charged me for a new one. I'll definitely hire them if I need work done in the future.

The service was excellent and prompt. They were very knowledgeable and neat. They tore holes in my dining room ceiling and did a nice job considering the holes. There was minimal damage, and they cleaned up after themselves.
