+ -1 moreI was able to get an appointment for the day following my call. Bryan came early and was very professional. There was a bit of difficulty with the hardware included in the light kit that I purchased, but he found a way to make it work. He cleaned up after his work and all went very well.

+ -1 moreThey really didn't do any work. They had installed a four-gang with GFCI outside. I called and told them the GFCI won't reset. They came out and told me that the outlet needed to be powered to reset the GFCI. Why didn't they tell me this when they installed the GFCI or over the phone? Or why didn't they realize that they should have told me and not charged me the $90 dollar service charge?

+ -1 moreWe were very pleased with Cooper's straight-forward inspection of the aluminum wiring in a home we didn't end up buying (due to their assessment that it was unsafe). They did give the seller an estimate of the repairs needed but they refused to undertake the work. Thanks to Cooper's inspection we were able to decide on another house with copper wiring that was much safer.

+ -1 moreThe electrician diagnosed the problem as a short in outdoor lamp post. To remedy immediate situation the outdoor wiring was disconnected. As a result, the breaker reset and electricity restored to the portion of the house affected by that breaker. I requested an estimate on rewiring the lamp post. The electrician said that he would inform the office and they would send someone out to give an estimate. I have never been contacted by their office regarding the estimate. The electrician did not give us the Angie's List discount because I did not have a hard copy of the online coupon. Because our home printer was not functioning, I asked him if I could log onto the Angie's List website to show him that we are indeed members. He said that that would not be acceptable because he was required to attach a paper copy of the coupon to his paperwork. I felt that the position taken was unreasonable.

The electricians from Cooper Electric were always on time, worked diligently, elegantly solved all of our electric dilemmas, were very polite, completely cleaned up after themselves and were outstandingly professional. I will whole-heartedly recommend Cooper Electric Company to all.
Description of Work: Workers installed a new circuit, installed four new lights complete with new wiring and switches, fixed a doorbell, hooked up an attic fan, mounted a photo cell for a torch light that they replaced, replaced two broken transformers and reset and installed two coach lights.

Discussed all issues/ ideas/ locations with me before proceeding. Cleaned up appropriately. Job 2: Lead Electrician Mike Wood. Professional, punctual, good quality work, followed code,completed work ahead of estimated timing, cleaned up appropriately. Discussed one potential inspection issue with me (wait on clamp replacement on water supply which was not readily accessible). Inspector approved work and agreed with decision on clamp.
Description of Work: Job 1: Part of kitchen remodel, 1971 house. Installed 40-amp 240-volt double oven circuit, a 40-amp 240-volt cooktop circuit, a 20-amp 120-volt microwave oven circuit, 20-amp 120-volt lighting circuit for seven ceiling canlights and a 3-way switch loop, two soffit canlights and switch, a 20-amp 120-volt circuit with four GFI protected receptacles and range hood, relocated existing dishwasher and disposal circuits, added two undercabinet lights, replaced ceiling fan (undercabinet lights and fan not furnished by Cooper), removed unneeded switches and receptacles and completed electrical hook-up for appliances after installation by others (diswasher, ovens, cooktop, range hood)($3500). Service-people always familiar with the kinds of old wiring they encounter, very alert to safety issues, always suggest reasonably priced but thorough fixes. A very trustworthy company for very important work. Highly recommend.
Description of Work: New to us but 70-year-old house has funky wiring, including a light that would turn on sometimes, not at other times. Serviceman found the problem after exhausting several simpler possibilities, and fixed it. Also installed grounded outlet for washer/dryer, and checked other outlets.

A fixture I thought needed replacing only need a small adjustment and so I was able to keep the original. They could have taken more time and charged me for a new one. I'll definitely hire them if I need work done in the future.

+ -1 moreThey guy got here and brought a helper, so I had to pay extra. They could not figure out what to do. I felt like I was helping them. The helper just turned the TV on in the kitchen while the other guy was fooling with the wires. I would never use them again. I had to pay a helper who did not do much and I did not even know they were sending two electricians. It was costly and took a long time.
