Very well overall. everything was done quickly and efficiently. The only problem was scheduling. The box for the A/C and sub box went as planned. The other items were done a few days after the A/C box. The A/C box had to be done at same time as A/C, so they prioritized it. The other items were lower priority, and they were not sure when they would do it. We heard "maybe on" whatever day a couple of times. However, once they said "definitely on" whatever day, they did it when they said. They were professional, on time and even came over to fix a small problem I discovered a few days later without charge.
Description of Work: Had new curcuit breaker box for new a/c and sub box put in, 3 ceiling fans, 220 electric dryer circuit and sevrel gfi plugs put in. Also replaced old worn supply line from road.

We had an electrician who was unexpectedly sick that morning. We rearranged our schedule to get the most important part, the panel and a/c disconnect installed. The electrician who had been scheduled to be there a few days, unfortunately just happened to be sick a few days. Our electricians rarely miss days. This unforeseen circumstance we tried hard to move the schedule around to incorporate the other items at this customers home. We even went as far as sending an electrician back out, free of charge to go the extra mile to please them. Our scheduling is usually very solid, it was just unfortunate that we had someone sick that morning and week. Regards, Gil Hyland, Marketing Manager, Cooper Electric.

Made a call to Cooper Electric and they had an electrician out within a few hours. My hot tub would not fire up, and I thought the breaker kept tripping. Turns out that some friendly mice decided the circuit panel in the hot tub made for a great new home, and they had chewed through several wires. They made the repairs quickly.

I was very impressed by Cooper Electric's professionalism and craftsmanship. The elecrtricians who performed the work were very punctual and efficient. The job entailed removing the old service mast, installing the new mast, roof flashing and shingles in the first phase of the work. This required coordination with the utility company as disconnection of service was necessary to accomplish the work. The work was completed in cold January weather, with snow and ice forecast for the second day of the job. So completing the service mast replacement and restoring the integrity of the roof on the first day was imperative. During the service mast replacement, Cooper personnel discovered that there was damage to the roof sheathing that was not visible prior to starting the job (as the damage was covered by undisturbed shingles). Cooper was able to get a qualified roofer to the site immediately to repair that damage so that the service mast replacement could be completed. The service mast replacement and main service disconnect panel installation were successfully completed, on time, and a temporary electrical connection made by the utility company by 4:00 P.M. Cooper Electric dealt directly with my insurance company to cover the unexpected additional cost of the roof repair. The service upgrade (from 100 amp service to 200 amp service) and installation of the new main circuit breaker panel were completed on day two of the job. Cooper's electrician, Mr. Dave McGrath, was punctual, very knowledgable, well organized, and most importantly, it was clear that he took great pride in his work. These are the hallmarks of a true professional. I was at ease giving him total access to my home while I was at work. Cooper Electric has been in business in Cincinnati since 1946. They are well versed in all aspects of their trade. I would highly recommend Cooper Electric for any electrical maintenance and particularly for big jobs.
Description of Work: The electric service mast (pole) on my house was bent after a large tree limb fell onto the Duke Energy supply lines to my house. I chose Cooper Electric to repair my service pole and to do a electrical service upgrade at the same time. The cost of the service mast repair was covered by insurance. The cost of the service upgrade, which included a new 200 amp service connection, additional grounding, and a new main disconnect panel and a new main circuit breaker panel was approximately $2600. Cooper's pricing was competitive, based on bids from other local companies.

I called this morning, they sent some one out in the afternoon. Dave showed up, discussed the projects and made recommendations and began working. He was pleasant, professional and efficient. He seemed very knowledgeable and offered excellent advice. He finished the project, cleaned up after himself and informed me that I could access their website and to call when I was ready to proceed with the remaining projects. I've hired other Electricians and he was the best I've thus far. It was very refreshing.
Description of Work: Assessed electric panel, assessed possibility of adding recessed lighting and gave rough estimate as requested, replaced shower light fixture, two hall light fixtures and one closet fixture. Advised on outdoor light fixtures that need replaced.

I have needed to make the aluminum wiring up to code even though we have not had any problems with it to date. I have used Cooper as my electricians in the past since they do work with aluminum wiring but never with a job of this magnitude. The work was absolutely professional. The electrician and his apprentices worked for 5 days to complete all the work, some days working longer than normal when some things needed completing. They accommodated me whenever I decided I needed something I wanted done and did an excellent job with all the work. They cleaned up after all the work and answered any questions I had. As I have stated I have used them before, strongly recommend their services, and will continue to use them in the future.
Description of Work: I have aluminum wiring in a house that was built in 1969. I had all the outlets and fixtures fused with copper via a Copulum system so the wiring is now up to code, had all the receptacles that required GFI changed, had some single receptacles made duplex, had motion sensor lights put on the garage and in the back so backyard lights up when motion is detected, and had 4 additional outlets put in.

The experience is particularly important since I have an older home and there are always modifications that need to be made for electrical products to be installed properly. Cooper readily accepted the Angie's list coupon. I would certianly use them on future projects.

They were very efficient at putting together an estimate, and getting the work scheduled. The two electricians were very professional and it was quite comfortable having them around for 3 days. They were VERY thorough and checked out all of the wiring in the house, to make sure there wasn't some aluminum wiring we didn't know about. They even checked both attics and crawl spaces. We have nothing but positives to say about our experience with them!
Description of Work: Part of our house has aluminum wiring. Cooper Electric installed copper pigtails (Copulum system) onto the aluminum wiring. Their cost was competitive with other options our local electricians could do, but their system has been around for years and is recommended by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

From start to completion, our appointment with Mike Wood of Cooper Electric went perfectly. This job consisted of numerous small, but important, items. Our motion controlled exterior has stopped stopped working. It was nothing more than a failed GFI circuit. Mike found and replaced it quickly. Our basement recreation room recessed lights were controlled by a single switch located at the bottom of the stairs and we wanted to add another switch at the top of the stairs so we did not have to walk down dark stairs to turn on the basement lights. We knew this would be a very labor intensive job involving snaking wiring up walls and cutting holes in the sheetrock. Mike rescued us from that cost and mess by proposing to install a "wireless" switch system. Amazing! This gave us a more functional light switch location at much less cost and no mess. We even added another switch at the door from the garage into the basement. A perfect solution we never would have known about except for Mike. We also needed to move a ceiling light in the garage which was in a location where it could be (and often had been) hit by the door into the house. Again, instead of moving and rewiring the light, Mike suggested a slim-line motion-activated energy-saver light that works perfectly on the existing electric box saving us expense and mess. Finally Mike replaced our long expired smoke detector with three modern smoke and CO detectors that were actually in the correct locations. All of this work was completed in about two hours. We were completely satisfied and would highly recommend Cooper Electric and Mike Wood to anyone needing electrical work.
Description of Work: Service outdoor lights, install new interior light switches, install motion-activated garage light and install new smoke alarms.

The provider quickly responded to my email request and we set up an appointment convenient to my work schedule. The serviceman was prompt and professional. He asked lots of specific questions about the lights so he could accurately quote supply costs and labor. I did not know the information and the wall unit has not been delivered yet so we agreed I would get the necessary info to him as well as fax him a copy of the CAD drawing of the unit so he could provide me with a quote. That afternoon I called the office and left a message for him with the specifics and faxed the diagram to the office. That was 11 days ago - I have received no further communication from this company nor have I received a quote for the job.
Description of Work: I submitted an email to the provider stating I needed an estimate for some electrical work. Scope of the job included installing an additional outlet in my family room which would be used to control the overhead lighting in a wall unit. I also needed 2 separate dimmer switches installed so i could have maximum flexibility controlling the lights.

I must apologize for dropping the ball on your estimate. I received you drawing over our fax and relayed it to our electrician for his input and he did give me the information back to work up a price for you. I can only say I messed up. I put it on my desk and it got buried under some paperwork and I did not uncover it until we were trying to find out what happened here at the office. Normally we are very prompt in getting quotes back to customers. I must take full responsibility for the error. I don’t know if you still need the information but I will e-mail you the quote. I hope you will accept my apology and not judge our company by a single mistake. Darrell Henderson Service Manager Cooper Electric

When I set the appointment, I was told a couple of my items could be fixed the day I scheduled for the electrician to come out, but other items may require an estimate and return visit. I purchased a new ceiling fan to replace the broken one, but the electrician (John) fixed my old fan, allowing me to return the new one for a refund (saving bucks right there). John accomplished all of the projects in a few hours. He was friendly, professional, and suggested ways to save money, which I appreciated. I rated the price B (Good) only because the set hourly fee was a little high, but John shared this upfront and the quality of the work was excellent. I've hired Cooper Electric before and I will again in the future.

We took them off from the Angie's list. The quality of their work was good. Their price was more than we expected. Unfortunately, at the beginning even when we got the estimate from the estimator, the person who came out to do the work said he had to do some additional wiring that he thought the estimator should have included. It was an extra $500 more than we anticipated.

After the project had started they removed walls and re-drywalled the entire kitchen. While doing so there was wiring existing that did not meet code which we would have to replace because we were adding outlets to those circuits. Per the National Electrical Code any upgraded circuit needs to meet code requirements even on existing installations. Prior to adding the wiring the homeowner was given notice of this unforeseen issue, as no one is capable of seeing through the walls, to know that this problematic wiring existed behind the drywall. Fortunately, the home owner can rest assured that the wiring in their kitchen is installed properly and as they stated "The quality of was good."

We are remodeling our kitchen. The wiring was installed when the house was built in 1962 and was not up to current code. We knew the electrician was going to have to make a lot of changes. Over three days and close to 20 hours, Mike and Kevin basically rewired our entire kitchen. They were a pleasure to work with; very conscientious. When they needed to knock out wall board (very thick wall board) they made sure nothing on the other side of the wall would be displaced. They cleaned up after themselves and took out the trash. Yesterday, Mike even carried the trash to the curb so it could be picked up today.
Description of Work: Removed hard wires from old wall oven and range top and installed new range receptacle. Moved one outlet and installed four new outlets. Moved light switches and added another light switch. Moved and combined over-sink switches for disposal and dishwasher. Installed new wiring for dishwasher and disposal. Installed two recessed lights in ceiling. Installed new ceiling fan and upgraded power box to same. Replaced nonworking doorbell. Replaced nonworking closet light.

Very well. He fully explained 2-3 alternative ways to do the job, and then explained in more detail the alternative that we chose. He was very neat and the lights work exactly as he said they would. We were a little concerned about how sensitve the light sensor would be, but it works perfectly. Also, while here he developed an estimate for some additional work, but the estimate is free. So he showed us that he was clocking out before he worked on the estimate so that we could be certain that we weren't being charged for it. Very honest!
Description of Work: Installed four decorative lights to front of house and hooked those plus one existing light up to a light sensor. Rewired light switch inside.
