Everything was done beautifully, in a timely manner. This company is the best!
Description of Work: CME just finished relining 110 feet of sewer pipe for us. We have had many professionals work on our home over the 29 years we have lived here, but we have never had a more competent, professional and considerate crew work for us. We had several areas under our 1928 home in which our clay sewer pipes had broken and were leaking. CME relined all of the sewer pipes using "trenchless" technology through two small holes in the basement floor. If we had chosen to have the pipes relined with traditional sewer pipe replacement, our basement floor, part of our yard, and our driveway would have been torn up. That would have been far more expensive since we would have had to restore all of those areas. The estimate was given after a thorough inspection of our sewer pipes with a camera. Due to the fact that some sewage was leaking through a basement floor crack, CME scheduled the job to begin two business days after we were provided with the estimate. I chose CME because they have an A+ rating on the Cincinnati Better Business Bureau website, as well as several wonderful recommendations on the BBB site. Other plumbers frequently call on CME to do difficult jobs. Before they left today, the crew, led by Will, the foreman, showed me all of the new pipe liners by running a camera through the pipes while I watched the view on a screen. The pipe lining looks immaculate. When they left our house, they had scrubbed the basement floor and put everything back in place. They did pristine work on the concrete replacement. Despite the fact that the job took a bit longer than expected since our sewer pipes are not a typical diameter (so special pipe fittings had to be obtained) and the washer/dryer slab had to be removed to access the key area where the pipes came together (CME poured a new washer/dryer slab when the relining was done), the bill was exactly the same as the estimate. We are thrilled with the work that CME did and would recommend them unconditionally to anyone who needs to have sewer pipes repaired.

I have been having trouble with my sewer line backing up for years. Several plumbing companies had indicated that the line needed to be replace or lined. I saw a listing on bid Cincinnati for CME Services to line a sewer. The bidding was closing that day at 6:00 PM. Before I bid, I called their office to see if I would get a credit if I bid the certificate ($7,000.00 value) and got it and didn't need a liner. I spoke with a very courteous lady who said she would have the sales manager call me back after he finished the job he was on. He called me back in about 1/2 hour. Dave Cook, the Sales Manager, came to my house that afternoon (before the bidding closed) and scoped my sewer line. He told me that the line did not need to be replaced or lined and that power jetting it would probably solve the issue. So instead of me bidding on his company's $7,000.00 sewer liner, the problem was solved with a $800.00 service. I had quotes from plumbing companies in the past for a price that was double his quote for that service. Dave had his crew at the house the next day to perform the clean out. Dave and his crew were very professional, courteous and explained everything that was done. Dave was extremely knowledgeable about the sewage system. I would highly recommend CME Services to people with any type of sewer issue. I found them to be a company of high integrity.

They were very professional. They came and gave me an estimate the week before. My main sewer line had roots in it and was cracking because of the age. as a result whenever there was a lot of rain we were experiencing water back ups in the basement. We set a date for them to come out the next week and repair the line. they said in most cases they can get the job done in 2 days. the job on my house was a little smaller so they were actually able to complete in one day. The crew that came out did a nice job. and they cleaned up their mess when they were finished.

Overall, excellent experience. Within 24hrs, 2 techs were dispatched to my house for camera inspection / estimate. I had an estimate within ~15min of their arrival. They were very quick and efficient. They were also very professional; at no time did I feel like I was talking to a sleazy salesman. This is in stark contrast to dealing with the national company with the catchy jingle. The estimate was less than half of Roto Rooter. Work began within two days of the estimate. Job took two days: one to excavate and expose the line and the second to clean and repair the line, and fix the basement floor. Employees were well equipped for the jobs at hand and never appeared to cut corners. They were very courteous and willing to explain what they were doing. Upon completion, the work area was thoroughly cleaned leaving only fresh concrete to indicate that anything had ever happened. Estimate was exactly correct. No extra charges or service fees were applied. 10 year parts and labor guarantee.
Description of Work: -Camera inspection of previously backed up sewer pipe from house to city sewer system. Significant damage to pipe (from large tree roots) discovered. -Hydro jet used to clear line of all roots and debris. -3'x3' hole excavated in basement to access main sewer line as it exits the house. -6" composite pvc repair liner installed from house exit to city line. -New cleanup installed at house exit. -Hole filled in with cement.

It went very well. Workers showed up on time and put in full days. They minimized the down times when we were not able to use sinks and toilets. They were friendly and willing to explain what they were doing each step of the way. All drains are now flowing freely.. We have already recommended CME to two friends, and will continue to do so as the opportunity arises. Note: I graded the price "N/A" since I did not do any comparison of prices.

I had water backing up from my floor drain in the basement when using my washing machine. I had a section of my basement drain line replaced previously and knew that the cast iron drains were in bad condition. CME Sewer Service came out to the house and ran a camera through the sewer lines that they could access. After examining the sewer lines, a plan of attack was discussed and a price quote was issued. The cost quote was fair compared to several other plumbing companies estimates to replace the sewer lines. The company personnel showed up when they said they would. The time frame to complete the job was as stated. The workers kept me informed on their progress. The job took two days to complete and the guys worked as long as needed to the first day to make sure we had bathroom access overnight, which was greatly appreciated. Even though the job didn't go as discussed in the estimate phase, the needed changes to make the job complete were covered at no additional cost. The necessary changes were discussed with me and approved by me before they took place. Everyone I dealt with at CME Sewer Services were very professional. I am totally satisfied with the work they did for me and I would use them again in the future.

It went very well. They arrived at the house when they said they would a proceeded to carry out their work in a very professional manner. During the course of the project there were five or six different guys working here and all of them were very courteous and seemed to know what they were doing. They were willing to explain to me what they were doing when I asked them. They kept things pretty clean, as well as you can when doing the type of job they were doing. I hope I won't need them to do this again but I will surely recommend them to anyone else who needs their sewers repaired. Lastly, they provided their service to me for the exact price they quoted, no extras, no hidden charges.
Description of Work: They Hydro jet cleaned the sanitary sewer out to the street, removed a portion of basement floor and replaced the old broken and root filled clay sewer pipe with new pvc pipe, and then they installed a liner from the point of repair inside the basement out to the main in the street. (approximately 80'-0") and then they repaired the concrete floor to match existing.

It all started when I had a backup in my sewer line, again, and there was "stuff" all over my basement floor. I had another contractor sewer rod my line to clear the blockage, but told me this would keep happening because roots were growing into my clay tile. He recommended lining my sewer because it would be cheaper than excavating and laying new schedule 40 pipe. This assumption was not exactly accurate. I called CME based on a recommendation from my neighbor who had a business relationship with CME. CME sent Dave out to look at my sewer and see if it could be lined. He sent a camera down my stack cleanout, but could not go far enough. He located the floor cleanout under some tiles, took up the tiles, and used some extra "persuasion" to get the old cleanout open. He then scoped the drain. Unfortunately, it was holding water again. Dave quickly snaked the drain again for just a 1/3 the cost of the first contractor. He was then able to see the line was in good shape, it just had spaces between the clay pipes were roots were growing in; I was a great candidate for lining. The estimate of $8,100 for my 60 feet of seemed high to me, because I had misunderstood the first contractor. After talking to some other contractors, including an excavator, I decided to go with CME. This saved a mature maple tree in my yard that the excavator would have killed, and did not leave a scar in my yard--just one in my basement. After rescheduling my appointment from late December to Early January due to an issue on another major job of their--they hydro-jetted on the original scheduled day, so that sped things up on installation day--Dave contacted me and told me the crew would be out between 08:00 - 08:30 EST. Sure enough, they were there at 08:25 or so. I showed them the clean out in the basement floor, and how to get in and out of the house. I was very glad I has a basement exit to my garage to keep the noise, mess, and cold to a minimum. They broke open my floor by using a massive hammer drill to drill break point holes. They then used a jackhammer to break up the concrete. They cut into the old line to give themselves access. They measured out the liner, and prepared their tools, out in the front yard. It may have been cold (20F?), but it was not raining, so the ground was firm, and easy for them to work on. They blew the liner into place, from the access spot they had made in the basement, using compressed air from their large compressors outside--hoses were running from their large truck and trailer in my driveway down to my basement. They ran into a snag, literally, when they went to pull their stuff out after the liner had cured for a few hours after their lunch break. Somehow a strap broke, so they had to twist their inflatable tube to yank it out--somehow it bonded to the end of the liner. The crew of three had to call in reinforcements, including Dave, and ultimately, Chuck, the owner. After some tense moments, they finally extricated their equipment, and set about putting everything back together. To finish, they connected a PVC pipe to the newly lined 6" sewer and the internal 4" cast iron pipe. They used some rubber adaptors and hose clamps to do it. While the connection was not exactly straight, I do not think the very minor angles when transitioning from 4" to 6" will be an issue. While doing this, a lot of ground water that had started filling their hole drained off, as it went down the now accessible sewer pipe--clearly that is something else for me to deal with. Once sealed up, they dumped the dirt and gravel they had dug out back in the hole. They used some busted concrete as filler too, before dumping buckets filled with concrete on top. The squared up the tiles and smoothed out the concrete. It was not perfectly smooth along the edges of the old concrete, but if I tile back over the area, no one will notice. After they left at 19:30 EST--yes, it took 11 hours--we wrote our name in the concrete and the kids put their hand prints in. :-) I am glad I moved my wife's car out of the garage, or she would have been blocked in all day. Their truck was large and took up my hole driveway--think an F550 and an enclosed trailer that was just as impressive, if not more so. We could not flush the toilets for most of the day, so my wife being able to go out--and use the restroom while away--was helpful. Make sure you ask how long the sewer line will be disconnected, and how long the job should take; I was under the misguided impression that this was a four-hour job with just two hours without toilets. All told, they were out to the house three times: estimate, hydro-jet, and installation. They were responsive to all my questions, including following up in email and by phone. The only reason for the B on Punctuality was due to the reschedule, and not having a detailed schedule of events in advance--perhaps I am too precise. Dave worked with me on pricing, and credited the cost of snaking the drain ($100) towards the sewer lining--the $1,200 hydro-jetting was not billed separately, but was rolled into the total $8,100 cost he originally bid. When I took this into account, along with value of the tree that was saved and the damage to the yard that did not happen--just the scar in the basement indicates that anything was ever done--the value of lining was my best option. They gave me a 10-year warranty, and told me the liner should last over 100 years. They also said the cured liner alone should be strong enough, but with the original clay pipe around it, it is sure to last a lifetime. When we looked at the liner on the drain camera afterwards, I did see some bumps and such. You could see some roots that were encased in the liner, and some other bumps that may have been broken bits of clay or who knows what else. Each joint in the clay tile looked like a ring because the liner would slightly expand into the gaps the tree roots were exploiting--good to know they will never come in again. Most of the liner was perfectly smooth looking, and the bumps and such were smoothed out. The roots that seemed to stick into the line were on the high side, so it is unlikely anything will get caught on them. I will know if the process really worked in a few years when I do not have to call for another sewer rodding. In talking with the owner, Chuck, that night, he told me about how large a pipe he could line (in excess of 24 inches if I recall correctly) and how much the Perma-liner company in Florida supports their installers. Since going to heat cure, versus ambient cure the process has become faster and more reliable. The role in place process is much better than the pull in place process it replaced years ago. The doubts the other contractor put in my head about Perma-liner versus his Max Liner were quickly put to rest when Chuck told me about the deal that company had with Max Liner. Both products are good, but it sounds like Perma-Liner is better for smaller outfits like his, and Max Liner might be fine for publicly traded companies, like the one the other contractor worked for. Either way, I do not really know that it matters to a homeowner like me. Net: I think I will be happy with this investment for years to come!
Description of Work: They installed a liner in my sewer line. Steps and interactions included: send a camera down my sewer to see if my sewer could be lined, sewer rodding my line to clear a blockage that was forming, hydrojetting my line to clear anything else out, and finally installing the sewer liner (more details below).

I got a hold of him on the first phone call and he was very sympathetic. On the second phone he said he would be out the next day. On third phone call he said he had an emergency situation. On the fourth phone call they said he was on vacation. This company is not giving a good name to Angie's List. I'm sure he is busy, but 15 minutes for an estimate would not take anytime at all. He made a promise and broke it three times.

Originally upon receiving a phone call, our sales manager set up an appointment. When he arrived, the tenant insisted Chuck, the owner of CME Services, evaluate the problem. Chuck returned to the residence on another day and explained (to the actual owner of the home) what was causing their issue. A landscaping company, hired by the homeowner, has inadvertently covered the end of a footer drain, clogging the line and causing a back-up. CME Services completed the evaluation at no charge to the customer. Unfortunately, it is the nature of this business that emergencies DO occur. This just happened to be the case. We were told the situation was not urgent and, therefore resulted in a couple unplanned schedule changes. Chuck was not on vacation, but called out of town, unexpectedly, to assist on a job. We apologize for any difficulty this caused the tenant and/or home owner.

CME Sewer Repair just left after a long day of cleaning out several spots of nearly complete blockage of our sewer line due to tree roots. I have been impressed with them from the very beginning. Dave was very courteous and knowledgeable answering all my questions. Today the CME crew that arrived was very polite and respectful and looked and acted professional at all times. My office is in the basement where they were working and even when I think they forgot I was over here working they remained very professional. As I watched they took extra care to keep everything clean and tidy as they worked. My seven and a half year old daughter came home towards the end of their work day and she is very curious and talkative. She watched them intently and asked them many questions. I was going to pull her away from them and let them do their work in peace but they treated her with such respect and actually acted as if they enjoyed her talking and questioning that I let it go. Never did they seem to be bothered by her and they actually went out of their way to explain things to her and to show her. That impressed me very much. Now to the actual work completed. We had a quote from another larger company that was going to charge us a about a $1000 more than CME billed us, and they were going to dig in our front yard and repair one section of root damaged pipe and then water jet clean the other two large blockages and just line those areas. For about $1000 less CME water jet cleaned our sewer line from the cleanout inside the house and all the way to the main sewer line, then lined all 84 feet of sewer line from our house to the main sewer line. Once they were done, they replaced the clean out with a new floor plug and very neatly filled the hole and added new concrete, leaving no mess behind. Much better than having to deal with a ripped up yard from digging and still needing to worry about possible issues in the rest of the sewer line that other company was going to leave untreated for a higher price. I would definitely recommend CME sewer repair to anyone with sewer issues. They were very professional, personable, and fair priced.

Chuck was forthcoming about the work. The only issue I had was that they accidentally chipped a sizeable piece of my driveway that wasn't being removed. The day they did this, they told me they would repair it. However, when they poured the driveway, they did not repair the chip. When the job was finished, the chip had not been repaired. I had to remind them that they made the chip and had promised to repair it, then they threw some concrete on the chip.

Dave came out on a Sunday morning to give the estimate. After he made the initial pass with the camera, he brought me over to show me the details. He showed me where I had three or four sections of pipe that were clogged with roots and debris, but that there were no off-set pipes or collapses. He told me that the sewer could be lined for $145 a foot, with a 5% Angie's List discount. I received exactly that, plus details that would be included in the work, in a written emailed estimate a few days later (the work load was hectic because part of their crew was helping in Boston). A crew of two came out, with Chuck to introduce them. We discussed the plan, and they got to work. They did exactly what they said, with as little disruption as possible. They hooked up to my outside spigot, which may mean a higher water bill for next month, but that's no big deal. The two who did the work were friendly and readily asked if I wanted to see the video post-lining installation. They also explained there was a belly in the pipe, but that the liner was able to conform to the pipe and that it shouldn't impact the flow of the drain or the strength of the pipe after it was lined. I was very pleased. It was all done in one day with no disruption to my property (other than a small portion of the basement/garage floor being dug up and replaced). I paid by credit card over the phone (though their office manager was not in to run the card immediately, so they had to write it down...eek!) after the work was over.
Description of Work: Came out and gave a free estimate with camera work and video for me to have. I hired them and they returned and lined a 45' sewer line from the clean out to where my line met the city sewer line.

The owner and employees in contact with us were great to work with: explained and thoroughly documented the situation facing us. They showed up promptly after our initial call, and scheduled the work in a short period of time. They did the work on the schedule they gave us. The job entailed removal of a stone retaining wall and a brick patio. Given the substantial site disturbance necessary to do the job, they cleaned up very well. This was a big job and required very specialized equipment and expertise. It was expensive, but I have no basis to know if their fee was expensive or inexpensive. I know that they got the job done in a professional and timely way. I would definitely recommend this company.
Description of Work: Inserted a liner in a deteriorating 15' private sewer line located beneath the foundation of our house. After occupying the house for 40 years, we learned of the existence of this old private sewer line. The pipe was cracked and starting to collapse; failure of the pipe would have caused sewage backup, collapse of the basement floor and weakening of the foundation.

Overall, we had a very good experience working with C.M.E. After having roots cleaned out of our sewer line several times in a 3 year span (by various plumbing companies), we decided to look into getting a liner installed as an alternative to replacing the entire pipe. After getting a sales pitch from another company (and stressing about the issue for a year) we were lucky enough to come across C.M.E. Upon the initial inspection, we were impressed with the Chuck's professionalism, knowledge and willingness to answer our questions without pressuring us into making a decision. The work was completed over a day and a half span, as Chuck had originally told us. My only real "complaint" would be that we did not see Chuck during that time (one of my initial concerns) as the work was completed entirely by his crew. However, I should add that he did get to our job at least a week, if not 2 weeks earlier than he said he could which was probably just in time given the amount of roots the workers had to clean out before installing the liner. Not to mention, his crew was more than capable and just as professional. They took the time to explain everything they were doing as the work progressed. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking into installing a liner.

After experiencing a sudden clog a few days back, and having it removed by a large Plumbing Services provider after hours, they subsequently told us that our best option was to proceed with a $30k job to replace our entire sewer line! Even went as far as to tell us they would approve our financing over the phone. Needless to say, I wanted a second opinion. After reading the reviews on Angie's List, we decided to give CME a call. They came out first thing the next day, performed the services, and gave us a detailed breakdown of all of their findings - including a DVD recording of the televising of the line. They discovered that there is an issue with where our line meets the City line, and even offered to call the City on our behalf to initiate the repair they need to perform on their dime to fix the issue. I am beyond impressed with the service we were given, and I will highly recommend CME to everyone possible. Thank you!!

It went exactly the way Chuck told me it would go. They were on time and professional. They showed up at 7:30 am and left at 6:00 pm. I was cutting my front lawn at 6:30, with my landscaping and concrete in tact.

Excellent work. CME arrived at 9:00 a.m. and was finished by 4:00 p.m. The excavation the basement and the insertion of the liner went exactly as Chuck, the owner, had explained. Due to ongoing sewer backups CME diagnosed the problem and suggested the liner to solved the backup issues. CME used a camera to diagnose the problem at the initial consultation. CME arrived on time, excavated the necessary part of the basement floor, placed the liner in the old sewer line (thus negating the issue of digging under the front porch which would be extremely expensive), cleaned out the sanitary sewer line from cleanout in front yard to he stack in the basement, back-filled the excavation, and cemented the basement floor with a new cleanout. The crew were professional all the way; competent, courteous, respectful, and aware of their surroundings; they also cleaned up after the job. The owner Chuck was on the job most of the day. Neither of the two other plumbing companies I had contacted seemed to have the knowledge and confidence of CME. As CME explained, this is their job and what they do. CME was the least expensive of the three companies I had contacted but price was not the deciding point. Highly and strongly recommend CME for sewer problems/sanitary pipe relining.

From the beginning, dealing with Chuck and his crew was a pleasure. From the initial phone conversation to the end of the repair job. They came in video'ed the sewer line, showed me exactly what the issues/problems were and then gave me multiple options on what could be done to resolve the issue. (with plus's and minus's for each option) They were very matter of fact on what could and could not be done. Because of the weather, they were at the house multiple times and each time, took the necessary steps to keep the house clean and sanitized. (lying down paper, work carpets, etc. for them to walk on and taping up paper on the drywall to avoid 'splashing') The entire crew was on the job, on time, every time and all members stayed all day working. They made sure that I understood what their process would be to fix the problem and when we would not have the sewer line available for 'use'. While the job was expensive, it was thousands less than the alternative bids I had received. (digging up the line) (The liner that was placed in the line is guaranteed for 50 years) There was real concern that digging up the line may need to happen but they took the extra time with the lining of the sewer line to ensure that the fix was good and permanent. (and saved my driveway in the process) After completing the work, I was shown, via camera, how the liner looked from the house to the street. I really wish I would of called them years ago and had the problem fixed earlier. (root intrusion into the sewer line - basically at every seam, and having it rotor-rooted out every year (or several times per year) for the past 10+ years or so -> with this problem you need to fix the cause, not the symptoms) I highly recommend them.

These guys were great! They came out to assess the line and gave me a quote for free, when the other companies were charging around $300. I was able to get a hold of Chuck every time I needed to call him during the whole process. I was provided with an all-inclusive, no-nonsense quote to permanently repair my sewer line, and I was offered a very competitive price. When the crew came out to start the work, EVERY last one of his workers was professional and courteous. When they left, everything was cleaned up, wiped down and sanitized as promised. I'm so happy I found these guys; they deserve major kudos for their hard work and professionalism!

His work is impeccable. He was very devoted to the job, and what our desires were. He (Chuck) is the owner, and did most of the work himself. He was always present, when his coworker was working.
