We moved to this area from out of state, and foolishly had Directv "bundle" our services, which gave us a good discount on our Directv bill for a year. Through this program, Directv ordered our landline (basic line with unlimited local and 30 minutes of long distance) and DSL internet (Zoomtown). It was explained that I would receive a bill from Cincinnati Bell on a monthly basis for their services, and a separate one from Directv for their services. And there would be a $50 service fee for the bundling which was more than covered by the discount I received from Directv. The land line and internet were to be installed on the evening we took possession of the house (November 4th). We did get voice mail, but had no dial tone nor internet.I called Directv on the 5th and was told that I would need to call Cincinnati Bell (even though I paid a service charge to have all this handled by Directv, and had no phone numbers nor order numbers for Cincinnati Bell.) Unfortunately for us, the next day was the weekend. I did call Cincy Bell, and spoke with rep in the Phillipines. Professional, yes, but really didn't help me much. I was given a repair date of 4 days later, much to my dismay. I called and spoke to a local representative on Monday, who was extremely professional, and helpful. We had local service the next day, and internet two days later, and apologies all along the way. Have no idea why there were problems, but both services required a technician to come out, perhaps because the lines were old? Regardless, the customer service representative gave me a credit of a month's service for our aggravation and inconvenience, without my request. Both technicians were very personable and professional, and checked to make sure we had no problems. We have had no problems with either service since installation, and have much better DSL service than what we had in PA, for half the cost.

Description of Work: They sent 4 to 7 cops out to my house on July 4th because they said I threatened their life. I repeated to them exactly what I said and that what they were saying was untrue. The women I spoke to set this up so that she could ruin my Holiday. They have the worst customer service in the world. No one knows what they are doing.

Everything went great until I switched from a Cincinnati Bell telephone to a Time Warner cable telephone. When this occurred, I obviously knew I was losing my cincinnati bell telephone. But what I did NOT know was that they also stopped monitoring my alarm systems. I only found this out when one day we accidentally set the alarm off, but the monitoring station never called. I called up the montoring central station to see why they did not call, only to be informed I was no longer a customer! Even though I never asked to be dropped as a customer, and they never informed me they were dropping me as a customer. If I had had a fire, or water in the basement, I would have been very upset to find out then I no longer was being monitored. Seems they will only provide monitoring if you have a Cincinnati Bell land line. Even though nothing in the technology requires this. But my biggest issue is that they dropped me without ever notifying me of their decision to do so!
Description of Work: I used Cincinnati Bell's Complete Protection service for several years. I truly thought they had a valuable service providing alarm monitoring and house monitoring (through the various alarm systems). They added Fire, CO and water detection capabilities to my alarm system.

Excellent local phone service. The gold standard in reliability and customer service. Online billing, fast trouble shooting, large range of services. Only ... with Internet phone services like Vonage offering many "premium options" for free, their pricing is becoming an issue.

Their service has been satisfactory. I always have to wait for a long time to get through to somebody in customer service department, but once I get through, they are pretty good. The calls drop at times, which is annoying. My overall experience with them has been satisfactory.

Cincinnati Bell is our internet provider. It is very fast. Now and then they have a glitch but it is not disruptive or frequent. It is better than the service in hotels or while traveling. I don't think we have ever had a problem with the service itself.

Previously I had used unlimited phone including long distance and also internet. The telephone service was very standard. Their service is not in any way exceptional, nor are they a particularly good value. I keep doing business with them because I don't want to go to some other companies for phone service. I tried to use their internet services for three months. It was the worst and slowest internet I have ever used, including when the internet first became available. I called to do troubleshooting and technical support and they told me they were offering the fastest they had available. My computer needs could not be met with them as my provider. I felt joyful when I was able to switch to a different option.
