+ -1 moreMy hat is off to Doug of Cincinnati Bathtub and Tile Reglazing. On Monday, when our work was supposed to be done, the power went out for much of the east side of Cincinnati about an hour before he was scheduled to come do the work. The estimates about when power would be restored kept getting pushed back and back . . . so in the morning, he wound up stripping the tub entirely by hand without power tools. (And did we mention that the A/C in our house wasn't working and it was very hot and uncomfortable?) In the afternoon he went out to run some errands because at that point he needed power to progress with the job. The power finally came back on at 5:00, so I texted him and he was back on the job by 5:30. He stayed until 9:45 p.m. to spray the new glaze and finish everything up. That is dedication! He was determined to get our job done on the scheduled day because his schedule was full enough that it might be a week or more before he could get back to us and finish up. I so appreciate his hard work and commitment to his customers. Wow. The 1920s tub looks amazing, like it is brand new. I would definitely hire this firm again.

+ 0 moreWe had used Doug in the past to reglaze our bathtub, so we were happy to call him again to reglaze the tiles in the bathroom. He stripped old paint from the tiles, prepared them and reglazed them. He even filled in some holes and smoothed out the appearance of several tiles. We did find some under spray on a towel bar holder in the tub, which Doug promised to come out and fix. The bathroom looks brand new!

+ -1 moreDoug was very clean, courteous and showed up on time. A true professional. We had a lot of commotion going on in the house that day and he kept to himself and worked around the chaos. Start to finish it took abut 6 hours and included the removal of a previous botched job. His work comes with a warranty as well. The process he used virtually eliminated all odors associated with the re-glaze. Looks sparkling white and amazing!

+ -1 moreWe had a blue bathtub that needed re-glazing and we also wanted to change it to white, and another tub that badly needed re-caulking. The re-glazed tub looks like a brand new (white) tub. Caulking on both tubs is excellent. This is a very professional operation. They called to confirm the appointment ahead of time and Doug arrived promptly. I work from home and all I had to do was show him to the two bathrooms, then went back to my work; at the end of the day it was all done and he left the place at least as clean as when he started. Includes a 5-year warranty which is transferrable if we sell the house. Highly recommend if you need this work.

+ -1 moreDoug showed up at the exact time he promised. He brought all his supplies & tools in and got started. He said it would take about five or six hrs. to complete. Doug explained to me exactly what he was going to do: tapeing,sanding,spraying the finish, venting fumes to outside etc., He stayed right on the job the entire time, except for lunch break. He completed the job in six hours, he cleaned up the entire area. Doug was very professional, and passionate about doing the job right the first time. My wife and I were very pleased with the refinished tub. It looks brand new!! Doug explained the 5 year warranty, and tub maintenance to me. I would highly recommend Cincinnati Bathtub and Tile Refinishing. I am a very, very, happy Angie's List customer. Thanks again Doug.

+ -1 moreIt was absolutely amazing. The tub was disgusting with mold and mildew and rust stains. The caulking was black and so gross. When Doug was finished I thought he installed a brand new tub. It is white and shiny again. The caulk is clean and expertly done. The process took 6 hours but his work is amazing. This reglazing is a perfect solution for older homes and bathtubs.

+ -1 moreTub looks brand new! Turned out extremely well. The only hiccup was the bedroom window, needed open for equipment, was left open when he left, and air conditioner was running all day. That was minor. Overall, the experience was a good one. My daughter is very happy with the way it turned out and it saved us from having to rip out a tub and try to find another one to fit in this older home. It's not a cheap solution, but we believe this was definitely the way to solve the problem and this tub was very cruddy--finish was rough and we tried everything to get it clean...it was futile! This service made it look like a brand new tub! He was prompt, professional, and did a great job! We highly recommend the service and the service provider and would hire him again.

+ -1 moreThere is a reason Doug schedules three weeks ahead. He does GREAT work, is professional, punctual and meticulous. I can see why he is so busy. Really an outstanding service provider. We are preparing our house for sale and I have had many vendors helping us get ready to put it on the market. Doug's service is beyond compare. My only complaint which he can't do a THING about is the fumes that arise with the reglazing. Doug vented everything outside as much as possible and kept the bathrooms sealed and doors closed--it just can't be helped. A noteworthy point: we were quoted a price without a visit by Doug to assess how much work he would have to do. The job was more involved than he thought it would be and took three days rather than the estimated two days. He charged us only a small amount more than the estimate--probably only enough to cover gas money to come out!

I was impressed by his attention to detail. Most of the labor was in prep - much less in the actual painting - and Doug kept everything as clean as possible. All in all, a great experience.

We first considered a tub and tile liner but didn?t like what we read online about the process and about the cost. Also, we have a window above the tub and didn?t want to block it. We checked Angie?s List and found Cincinnati Bathtub & Tile Reglazing and saw the great reviews. I called and talked to Doug and scheduled a date to have the tub and all the wall tiles reglazed. We wanted the tub and tile done in white because we thought that wouldn?t become dated and it would give us more options with adding color accents. We removed the toilet, vanity and sink for easy access, since we were replacing those units anyway. Doug was on time, courteous and professional. It took him one and one half days to complete the job and we are ecstatic with the results. We went from being embarrassed to have guests in the bathroom to showing off our new bathroom. It?s been 4 months since we had the job done and the tub and tile shine and look brand new. We highly recommend Cincinnati Bathtub & Tile Reglazing. You won?t regret it!

+ -1 moreThe job went very smoothly. Doug was at my home on time, around 8:30 and left around 3:00. He brought all his equipment in and proceeded to immediately begin work on removing the old caulk around the floor and at the top around the tile. To control the dust from the abrasive he uses to clean the old surface, he masked everything off and vented the hose to an outside window in the bathroom. From that point on I never checked on what he was doing until late afternoon when he said he wanted me to look at the tub.The tub looked brand new and after he allowed time for the epoxy finish to harden he then caulked the tub around the floor. When that was done he gave me instructions for caring for the new finish and explained the warranty which is five years. He also said not to use the tub 16 hours to let the finish completely harden. The thing that really impressed me was there was no dust or dirt anywhere. The bathroom was completely clean just as it was when he arrived.
Description of Work: I needed the tub in my upstairs hall bath reglazed since rust had developed around the drain.The tub is approximately 33 years old. My attempts to repair it myself by cleaning the area and using an epoxy failed so I checked Angies List to see which companies provided this service. I looked at several but Cincinnati Bathtub & Tile Reglazing had the highest rating so I called to see how much it would cost and when it could be done. I explained my problem to Doug and he said the cost would be $450.00 which he said he much cheaper than replacing the tub. So I set up and appointment to have the work done. Unfortunately I had to change the appointment date several times due to my wife's health problems and each time Doug accommodated a new date. After a couple delays we set March 25 to have the work done. Doug arrived at 8:30 with all of his equipment and went right to work. Except for the hum of his equipment you would would never know he was there doing the work. He finished up around 3:00 and the tub looked brand new. There was no dust from cleaning the tub, no dirt or dust anywhere. A very slight odor from the finish he applied but nothing objectionable. He completely re-caulked the tub around the tile and at the floor. A beautiful job. Doug then went over the written instructions for caring for the tub and not to use it for I believe 16 hours. He said his warranty is for five years but it will last longer if you follow his instructions for caring for the new surface. As I noted the cost was $450.00 and you have to pay him by check or cash, no credit cards. Doug does outstanding work and his prior ratings reflect his work and his professionalism. I'd highly recommend him to anyone who has a need to have their tub reglazed.

+ 0 moreWhat an incredible job Doug did in our home. It is an amazing job. Doug brought in all of his own equipment in an orderly and cleanly fashion. He even had his own fan to blow dust from the work out the window. He spent the time required to take of decades of soap scum from the bathtub. His thoroughness in maintaining the original tile design from 1940 is remarkable. My painter couldn't believe it was not new tile. Thank you Doug for your great work!
