 + -1 moreThe quality of their work is outstanding. I compared it to my neighbors and it did not go with them. Their product is just so well put together and designed. The design piece was most sensible and the quality of the product as well. They are not the cheapest but not horrible either. We had other closet companies come and do the estimate as well. We had another company who did work for the builder and his work was fine but not nearly as good as California Closets. The quality was also not good and his price was high.
Description of Work: I used California Closets & Custom Storage of Cincinnati probably two years ago to put in a master bedroom closet.

 + -1 moreA man came and gave me an estimate for shelves in the garage. I gave him a check for a deposit.Later he said that the amount he quoted me was only 50% of the price. He had estimated the depth of the shelves wrong.Well we thought the first price was very pricey so no way were we going to pay double. I had a Groupon Coupon that I paid $125 for. It was good for $250 off California Closets. So we decided to have a cabinet made that we could put our shovel, hoe, rakes, etc. in. We couldn't afford to get a door on it because that would have been like $300 more. I was expecting like the neatest closet ever. The man came when he said he would and put it together in our garage. It's pressed wood. Yes, we paid over $600 for a white, pressed wood closet for our lawn tools. It has two shelves in the top and holes like a peg board. We were given nothing like hooks or anything for the peg board sides.I live in a very nice neighborhood. I showed the cabinet to my neighbors and told them it was a $600 cabinet. They all felt it was extremely over priced. We got shelves from Lowe's for $200 that took us about half an hour to assemble. They are so much better, stronger, and better than what we got from California Closets.

 + -1 moreI have an 80-year old house. My linen closet was so deep and high that it was ineffective. I used a Groupon to defray costs. The cost was so high (over $1,000) because it was all custom cuts. Beverly Simon spent two hours discussing my needs, measuring, and drawing the closet. She has followed up with everything just as she said -- and very promptly. The carpenters were outstanding. They installed the closet, customizing the shelves to fit my needs. They were very neat, pleasant, and helpful. They cleaned up everything before they left. I intend to have my bedroom closet remade when I get time to clean it, plaster and paint,and refinish the floor. I can't wait! That giant closet will cost only $1,000 because it has no custom cuts.
Description of Work: My 80-year-old house has a linen closet that is a bottomless pit. It is over 8' high and nearly 5' deep. I was losing things in it. In fact, I found things in there that I thought i had given away 20 years ago. The closet now has 5 shelves and a top shelf. The 4 of the 5 shelves have a 1-foot stationary piece at the rear. (The 5th, or highest, does not have a stationary piece, allowing for taller items at the back of the 4th shelf.) Then each of the 5 shelves has 2 feet of shelving that pulls forward. To make sure things do not drop between the two parts of the shelf, the back of each moving shelf has a lip. The closet is made of white boards. Fantastic!

 + -1 moreI said I would not sign the agreement until I knew an exact date it would be installed. The salesman called back with a date. I mailed the contract and the deposit to the company. The installer called the day before (on Sunday) and confirmed the date and time. I could not ask for a better experience. The workmanship was outstanding and we love the closet.

Description of Work: The Design Consultant at California Closets professionally designed shelving to fit an existing pantry space to fit our family needs and recent kitchen renovation decor. Her final design was a wonderful incorporation of my initial ideas and her expertise. The installer worked knowledgeably and efficiently. One type of accessory was installed in the wrong finish. I notified the Consultant the next day; the pieces were switched out to my satisfaction within one week.

It was a 2 day project. They were prompt, paid attention to detail, and went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the end result.
Description of Work: Charlie Meyer designed a craft room with cabinets, shelves and a large work surface. It looks great and is an efficient, functional use of the space.

I had a little difficulty describing what I wanted the "craft" closet to look like, but after e-mailing back and forth a few times, my designer submitted just what I was looking for. The installation went well. The installer was polite, clean and professional. I was surprised at how clean he left the closets. They were ready for me to put things away without having to wipe out sawdust, etc.
Description of Work: Designer came to see closets, took measurements and drew her proposal for use of space. Installer arrived on time, installed closets as agreed, cleaned up and left bill.

During our initial consultation, the representative was very thorough on discovering what was important to my wife and I and brought to light a lot of things that we never even considered. She then created our system. The computer drawings were all 3 dimensional so we could visualize how the system would look installed and ensure that it was functional for us. The sales process was very comfortable and visiting the showroom was very helpful to visualize what the functionality of the system was. The showroom attendant was very polite and answered all of our questions. Once we approved the work was scheduled. The installers were very professional. They were clean and neat and my wife was very comfortable having them in our home. The old shelving was removed they patched all of the walls, painted and installed our new system. Overall it was a great experience. We would highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreWe called California Closets when we decided to take on our disorganized closets. The process was wonderful and smooth all the way thru. We called in, and were able to schedule an appointment with someone right then. Our design consultant showed up on time, she took time to ask us about our needs, what was important to us about working with a company, and really made us feel like she was our partner in all of this. She measured, listened to what we wanted, asked us about things we never would of thought of, and designed a closet right then and there. The 3D program they use makes it really easy to visualize what the finished product would look like. We didn't feel pressured to buy, and she followed up with us till we were ready to make a decision. The scheduling process was easy, our installer was efficient, knowledgeable and accommodating, and it was all done in less than a day! They even called back to be sure that we were happy after we moved everything back into the closets.
Description of Work: We live in Broad Ripple and have very small closets. We only had one rod with a shelf on top in two master reach-in closets, and a guest bedroom closet. California Closets designed a combination of shelving, hanging, and drawers that gave us more hanging space than we had before plus shelves for our sweaters and drawers for our T-shirts and socks. I really like the jewelry drawer because we don't have a large bedroom, and I don't like to see a lot of stuff out in the room, like my old jewelry box. Plus, we now have these laundry bags that look great and are really easy to transport our dirty clothes downstairs or to the drycleaners. We still wish that we had bigger closets, but are amazed at all the stuff we can fit in there now, and how much easier it is to find stuff. It was well worth the money to have 3 functional closets. We're going to have them back out to look at doing our office.

 + -1 moreWow!! I am totally impressed with my new laundry room. Annamaria came out and gave me an estimate on my boring laundry room and master's closet. The prices are a little high, but the materials and life time warranty are worth the extra cost. My family has used California Closets for quite a while and the product is impressive. They called to confirm time of installation, and although the installer ran late, he called twice to let me know his ETA. He was very professional, showed me how to operate the adjustable shelves, and my laundry room is so much more functional than it was before. I cannot wait to have my master closet complete. I really feel that CA closets has added value to my home, and I was impressed with Annamaria's design ideas and layout. I love it, and I would highly recommend them.
