+ 0 moreChad C and his crew were great! Before hiring, Chad explained to me in detail what needed to be done, and the best way to do it. He is a true professional A+ plumber. After speaking with Chad C about the job to be done, I was immediately convinced that he had the expertise to do a fantastic job, and I was right. The job involved replacing a large section of my sewer line that was busted by a construction company working in my yard. His crew that helped him dig a very deep hole and also aided Chad with the sewer fix were all excellent hard workers. His excellent repair is warranted for five years. I do not believe I will need to use that warranty!

Chris H, the service Pro showed up promptly at time selected, he is professional, courteous, determined issues, offered options, completed work quickly, efficiently and thoroughly even cleaned up after all work was completed. I thought the pricing was VERY reasonable. Have already scheduled a future plumbing remodel. HIGHLY recommend and EXTREMELY satisfied.

+ 0 moreIt's never a good sign when you see waste water leaking from the basement drain. Yuck. I found this company via another referral site and set up a same day appointment around noon. By 6pm I hadn't heard from them so I called, only to be told they'd be there, but they wouldn't tell me how much longer. I finally fell asleep on the couch. I called them the next morning. They apologized and showed up within the hour. Their guy spent about 20 minutes and got the line unplugged. Another crew showed up a few hours later with a camera and inspected the line. I could clearly see that the clean out had only poked a small hole through the tangle of roots. The guys operating the camera told me the line was trashed and had to be replaced. They quoted me a price of $6,250. After mulling over the events of the past day, I called a different company for a second opinion. That company took the time to clear the roots these guys had left behind and did a thorough inspection of my now cleared line. Turns out it's got some problems but is no where near the catastrophe this company claimed. I'm disappointed in their work, feel like they tried to take advantage of a female homeowner and would not hire them again.

+ -1 moreI paid for a $50 water heater diagnostic. When the technician arrived I was told that the $50 was to just come to my house, and it would be upwards of $600 for a water heater service. I explained to him that I told the scheduling representative that I have an electric water heater, and my electric bills where running extremely high, so I wanted to make sure that by water heater was running correctly and not contributing to the issue. Apparently there is a disconnect between what the phone representatives and the technicians define as a diagnostic. The technician said the $50 was just to come out, and apparently have a 5 minute conversation with me. But he was not touching my water heater for $50. Now I still need to know if my electric water heater is running effectively and efficiently. Thanks for wasting my time Benjamin Franklin of Mason, OH.

Description of Work: We hired Benjamin Franklin Plumbing for several jobs in a house we had just purchased. We were told the work would take less than a week. It took almost a month. Part of that was due to our not being able to get our part (jackhammering laundry room floor) done within three days. However, it took us less than a week, which should have added only a few days to the job, not a few weeks. We were living elsewhere (45 minutes away) and remodeling this house for two weeks. The actual plumber would tell us a time, and would show up an hour later. This was quite upsetting, because we planned our schedule around his. There were a few times when he said he would be back later in the day, then didn't show up. They claim to be the punctual plumber, and "If there's any delay, it's you we pay." There was no offer to compensate us for the delays or lack of punctuality. We purchased a new 80 gallon electric hot water heater from them and had them install it. The gentleman giving us the estimate would not give us a price for the water heater; he said it was an all-inclusive price and he could not break it down. The plumber installed a floor drain in our laundry room, and tried to convince us that the pipe sticking up eight inches above floor level was a common practice. This floor drain connects to our septic tank. It has backed up twice due to rain; they should have put in a one-way valve when installing the drain but never suggested that to us. We do not want to call them about this problem, simply because we do not want them in our home again. When they finally got done, they hadn't taken off the $79 initial estimate fee that they told us would come off the bill if we used them for the service. After a few phone calls, that was taken off. I tried to use a coupon that I had for installation of a water heater, but was told I could not use that because I did not present it at the time of the bid. He said they bid all their business as low as possible, and could not take off any more money. When calling their office a couple of times to discuss the above-mentioned problems, I was hung up on once. Another time, I was told I would receive a phone call back shortly, and didn't receive one until the next day. We would never hire this company again.

He is a mechanical engineer from the University of Cincinnati who grew up helping his grandfather in the plumbing business. He liked it so much that he has made this his career, instead of engineering. He is very knowledgeable, professional, courteous, friendly, neat and very meticulous about his work. I could not have been happier.

+ 0 moreWe picked a date and I was told that they would come first thing in the morning. My doorbell rang a few minutes before 8 am and one serviceman was there. Eventually several more servicemen came to assist him. It took them all day to replace the two items. They also had to do some new pipe work to get the replacements to fit. I never saw them take a break. They were working the whole day. They were very nice. After the job was done, one of the serviceman got me and took me to the basement and showed me what they did and explained it all to me. They cleaned up after themselves very nicely. When they first started, they put down runners through my foyer and all through my basement to the area where the furnace and hot water heater were located.
Description of Work: They replaced our basement furnace which was showing signs of wear and also replaced our hot water heater.
