Everything went well except for the scheduling. Visiting their showroom, working with Jack to make selections, understanding the options was all great. The work was scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, then Wednesday morning and they finally showed on Wednesday afternoon. Calls were received saying they would be late, but I still spent alot of hours waiting. Dante and Andy did great work, were clean, explained what they were doing, and finished quickly.
Description of Work: Repaired leaking toilet tank; replaced old fixtures in shower bath with new fixtures.

The person who came was punctual, moved stuff out of the way in the basement, and fixed the problem. He did the job very quickly. He also cleaned up the place once the job was done. He was very knowledgeable, and knew what needed to be done. My overall experience with him has been good.
Description of Work: He put in a new shutoff valve that was leaking for our sprinkling system.

He explained every thing he was going to do. He had a solution of how to solve the problem and he had the equipment to do it. He seemed experienced and knew what he was doing. It was a real big job. He even did some other work around the house he took out some bushes and flattened the ground, so I was able to put some thing else there.
Description of Work: He came out and unclogged a pipe, did some digging in the yard to fix a part of the pipe that had broken and he rerouted the sump pump.

County water company came to read the meter. Meter reading was excessive. Water company personal helped us identify the problem. Angie's List search and phone call started the process. Called AHP on the second day of plumber search. Talked to Ralph Vilardo (company owner) who came out to meet with me and complete the estimate. We talked, he outlined what would occur. Called later the same day to finalize plans. Even did a conference call with the "call you before you dig" line to make sure information accurate. Crew called before coming. Answered all my questions. Let me know when they were turning the water off, that was important to know. We planned ahead to have extra water for washing/drinking, etc. Ralph came by to check on the job twice during the day. Once at mid point and later when he came to help put the dirt back. Ralph shared advice on the settling of the soil and what we could/should do in the coming weeks and months to flatten the lawn. The crew worked carefully around a shrub located in a landscape patch next to the house. The crew cleaned up the area including the sidewalk to the house, which is now clearer and cleaner then I get!! AHP and Ralph were great. He still does work with an conversation and a hand-shake. We liked that.
Description of Work: Home built with blue max water main (meter to house). AHP replaced the water line with top grade copper line. The work crew used a small backhoe to make a trench in the front yard from water meter to the house. Installed new water line, connected it in the basement to the existing pipe. Work completed in less than a day.

1. Used this plumber in June, 2008 to fix a kitchen faucet that detached from the sink. Job was done in <15 minutes. Price for service call (labor) was $104.00. No "hidden" charges, e.g., travel time, HAZMAT, etc. Thought they performed and charged a fair price. 2. Called them to unclog the main floor toilet and set an appointment for Monday, December 8, 2008 for the repair. The job took <30 minutes. I was given a bill for $186.00! The job did not require any parts replacement . . . just the augur they brought to unclog the toilet. I questioned why I was charged such a high price for the service call (labor). I also asked why two men were sent to do a one-man job? I was told the second man was an apprentice (needed on-the-job training) but I was not being charged for his training. The owner (Jack) gave me some "story" about the skills of a master plumber, membership in some association, travel time from their office, etc. but did say he would check the billing and confirm the time charges. He never called me back. The IRS has currently set mileage at $0.558 per mile for business purposes. This plumber's business is less than 20 miles from where the work was done (you can do the math). I am very disappointed that Angie's List shows this company as an "Award" account. I will not call them again for service.

They arrived on a Friday as planned, removed the old water heater, and installed the new one. The next day, Saturday, I noticed that they had not installed the sheet metal screws attaching the vent pipe, so I put them in. I noticed that the drain valve at the bottom of the water heater was dripping so I tightened the valve, but it still dripped. I also noticed that the water temperature seemed very high - it was set to 150 degrees, a dangerous level, so I set it down to 120 degrees. While I was working in the area I noticed a gas smell. Using a soap solution I found a small gas leak at the union. I called their number and got a message that they would not be available until Monday. This is the first plumber I have dealt with that does not have some sort of emergency service. They came Monday morning, tightened the union, tightened the drain valve and left. When I returned from work I noticed the gas smell again and found the drain valve still dripping. The soap solution showed that the original leak was still there - apparently they assumed that just tightening the union would fix it and they did not do an adequate job of leak testing. I called them about 4:00 PM and was told that they could not locate the plumber to fix it and could I wait until Tuesday morning. Not having an alternative, I waited. They sent a different plumber who had an electronic leak detector. He seemed to know what he was doing. He was able to fix the gas leak and he replaced the drain valve. He also spent some time verifying that the temperature control was working properly.
Description of Work: Replaced a 50 gallon, gas water heater.

The plumber arrived on time and tried to remove the stuck screws. Both I and my nephew had previously tried to remove them. After using several methods he told me he could remove them but was afraid that he might damage the toilet seat while doing so. The seat is unique to the toilet and not easily replaceable. I asked him to discontinue his efforts. Subsequently, I was able to find a seat riser to fit the toilet which did not require the seat to be removed.
Description of Work: Tried to remove stuck screws holding toilet seat to bowl. I wanted to install a seat riser between the seat and the bowl.

Cincinnati Water Works was taking quite a while to get the permits done and having the line tapped, so Ralph at Anderson Hills Plumbing called them up and got them moving! Ralph is the best! His professionalism impressed us a lot. Anderson Hills Plumbing wasn't the least expensive bid we got, but we felt confidence in their bid- and they delivered on it. We won't hesitate to have them do more work for us.
Description of Work: We had a big plumbing job to do-getting our house hooked up to Cincinnati Water Works (we had previously used a cistern for our water). It involved hundreds of feet of drilling, digging four holes, running pipe and hooking it up in the house.

Contractor did a great job overcoming challenges of replacing cast iron drains set in brick & plaster; was very creative in figuring out how to run new lines with least possible damage to walls. Needed regular direction on what we wanted the end product to be, but ultimately produced a great finished product.

They made an appointment for shortly after I called since I had company coming that weekend. Service was great. They explained everything they did along the way. Put in new plumbing where old plumbing was worn out. Gave me pros and cons of running gas line to use a gas dryer (decided against it). They did very high quality work. Left no mess behind!

After an initial mis-que on their part all went great. Had an appointment for approx. noon. Since I had an personal appointment in the morning, they asked me to call when I was home. I did and the person on the phone couldn't find my work order; no idea as to what I was talking about. Fortunately the man I had talked to the day before remembered the conversation completely and they had a plumber there at noon! Troy was great! Quickly got to work and when he was done, I had a concern about the location of the backup pump (it was installed previously by different plumber). He understood completely and remedied the problem quickly, the way it should have been done in the first place (which wasn't completely wrong, just not great for our situation which you wouldn't know if you never had water in your basement). Very clean, neat work. Thanks, Troy!
Description of Work: Replaced sump pump and reconfigured back up battery operated sump pump. We were "lucky" enough to have both systems fail during these last rains. he main sump gets rocks stuck in it and it shuts down. Our backup system failed also so we ended up with water in our basement. I was concerned with where the backup pump was installed, afraid it wouldn't go on until we already had water in the basement. The plumber that came out understood what I meant and reconfigured the backup to a better, much lower location in the well. All is well.

I called another plumber the day before and had an appointment. That plumber did not call nor show up for their appointment. When I called them they said he was done for the day and asked if I wanted to reschedule. I was very upset. By the way, that plumber's company name is Joe Klosterman Plumbing. Anyway, I called Anderson Plumbing and Supply. They were at my house in less than 2 hours. They completed the jobs in less than 2 hours. They were very friendly and professional.

Within hours of closing on our house, a pipe burst in our basement causing some damage to the ceiling in our garage. After work that Roto-rooter had done during the closing process, a newly repaired section of pipe had failed and resulted in disaster. Using our Home Owner's Warranty, we were able to get a water regulator installed and the ceiling patched. After removing a section of ceiling in the garage however, we noticed the bathtub drain pipe appeared to have an unhealthy amount of corrosion along the joint. Before we had the ceiling put back up, we decided to address the issue and replace the pipe, just in case. From using Anderson Hills Plumbing for previous needs, we decided they were the best for reputation and price. I think that I have spoken to just about everyone that works there either in person or over the phone. Every time, I'm impressed with the information they have and how helpful they have been. We can now rest at ease that everything has been properly fixed.

AHP arrived in a timely fashion, were nothing but professional, explained every step and had my restroom back up to snuff in short order. Although the problem was not fixed due to material defects, they did find out the cause of the shower leak, which was not detected by our previous plumber who also installed the shower and had tried to fix the problem.
