All My Sons Moving & Storage

Overall, they did a great job. The men who worked in the 3 man crew were personable, professional and made a point to communicate with us thruout the process (such as when they saw damage, whether they caused it or not). Only reason we give a B in quality is that in order to fit all the boxes we had into one truck (to keep the move within budget), they stacked some of them more than 4 high, so some boxes got squashed down a bit. Luckily, as of the writing of this report, we have not noted any damage as a result. Have to note that we did our own packing to save time and money. We liked them and would use them again.

Six years ago, All My Sons moved my husband and I from Waynesville to Cambridge, OH. We were charged $3500 for the move and had a great experience. After my husband died, I decided to move back to the Cincinnati area. I called All My Sons since I assumed they had all our previous information. I was told they didn't have records from 6 years ago but they would gladly move me. I had my previous receipt for $3500 and shared whatever information it provided. I was all set to move out on 6/11 and move in on 6/12. Soon after the movers got to my Cambridge house they said they didn't think everything would fit in the truck, but they would try. By afternoon, I was giving furniture away to try and make it in one trip. Still too much stuff for one truck. They moved me in the next day while I tried to figure out how to get the rest of my stuff to the new home. I made repeated phone calls to All My Sons as did my son-in-law. After 4 days of phone calls, Patrick lined up another truck with 2 drivers to get the 2nd load on Saturday. I had to make another trip to Cambridge and back also. Both moves were without damage to my furniture or belongings. I am very appreciative for that. But, I am disappointed that when given the information about previous total cost that someone didn't figure out I needed 2 trucks for my belongings. I honestly don't remember the prior move; I assume we used 2 trucks then as well, but I have no recollection of that move. Should I have remembered? Yes, but I didn't. Should they have been more on top of things or written more info on the paperwork? Yes, but they didn't. Moving is a stressful time, and this move was double the stress.

I thought they were good, on-time, professional and reasonably priced. Also, I would use them again in the future.

All My Sons did a decent job of moving us from one house to another. The movers were very hard working and professional. The estimator did a poor job of estimating the job. He did an estimate over the phone (versus someone coming to the house). We went through how many rooms we had, big pieces of furniture, full basement, and garage. He said we would need three workers and one truck. The movers worked for several hours on the house and took some outside items as well (patio furniture set, grill) when they told us the truck was full, but they hadn't even started on the garage. They offered to come back for the garage contents, but we opted to move those ourselves without the movers. There were also some items left in the basement because they ran out of room on the truck. We called several moving companies and they all indicated over the phone we would need just one truck which was not the case. If you are moving a full house (we are a family of five), I'd recommend an on-site estimate. When I got a call the day before the move, I was told we were on schedule for the second job of the day which starts at noon or after. I had originally thought we were scheduled for the first move of the day. I said so and the employee changed the schedule to reflect that. The movers arrived at 9:30 a.m. and finished at 6:45 p.m. (Had we started after noon, we would still have been unloading the truck at 9 p.m.) I had given All My Sons my cell phone number to call me the morning of the move to let us know when they were on their way. They instead called our landline which had been disconnected because of the move, so we didn't know when they were going to show up. They were gone for an hour and a half for lunch. When billing us, they included one hour for lunch. I had written down when they left and returned, and they took me for my word and changed the bill with no arguments to indicate 1-1/2 hours for lunch. We later noticed a couple of pieces of furniture that were slightly damaged during the move so I called All My Sons to discuss it. They were quick with an apology and have scheduled a company to come repair the damage.

They were great, clean and respectful of my home. The pricing was average, but nothing special. I liked their punctuality and will use them again in the future.

They did everything right and didn't break anything. That was our third time using them in the last two years. That's why we keep going back to them. We had a lot of things.

I spent a little over $400 on their services. They just operated very quickly and very efficiently. Everything was handled with care. I will use them again in the future.

The estimator sent a truck that was too small. Driver tried to cram our stuff into the smaller truck with a lot of damage to big items. The packers were inconsistent. We suggested they start in the basement were the wood shop and smaller items were. They were more interested in doing the easy items. I had to ask (both in original and new house) to have padding put down on wood floor and new carpet. I had to ask for a box for bedding for the last day. I was asked THREE times to pack up the kitchen which I finally let them do just to get something finished. They came late and left early. We had saved three days for packing and they knew it. They broke/took apart antique furniture which was not meant to be taken apart. We were constantly putting left over items in one location so as to get it all packed. If they didn't know what something was they didn't ask and just packed it. I had large silk scrolls just thrown into a box with other vertical items. They put a canister of DVDs in front of an LCD monitor. I tried to get resolution on truck issue as soon as I found out and BEFORE we actually left town and was told to call dispatcher in Florida which is who driver actually works for. I was told a second truck was coming the next day. We arrived in new state and found out no truck had arrived, didn't know when one could be had, and dispatcher wasn't going to move the rest without more money as estimator was way off on poundage. Fee was paid in full BEFORE we left original house. I received no calls from Cincinnati company about our stuff that was put in filthy storage. I finally got a hold of the owner of Cincinnati office and was told they were working on it. They were unable to find a truck nearby that was heading our way. I was told they couldn't just send one of their own trucks out of state. We left Ohio oh Sep 23, received our first shipment with much damage Sep 26. We did NOT receive the remainder of our items until Oct 11. This shipment also had damage to large items. We were left without our baby stroller and car seat for 3 weeks. We couldn't finish putting our house together until we received the rest of our items. The drivers ran over our mailboxes twice! Our boxes were crushed. They even managed to crush a queen size mattress. I have not yet contacted them about all the damage as we were most interested in getting our items first, getting our neighbor's mailbox fixed, and then on to damage. There is nothing positive to say about this company. They are not a typical family owned business despite what they advertise. They are a series of partnerships linked together to allow them to perform multi-state moves. Stay far away from these people.

Because of the above, I gave the move to the Angie's List favorite for $1832.50. I'll let you know how it goes when finished in October.

Very well, I loved the crew they sent us so much I asked for them again. Nick was in charge of my crew last time and did a great job.

They were better than their competition in town. Their prices, quality of work and follow-up was better than competition.

I have used this company in the past, numerous times. I have always had good experiences with them. However, on one of the moves the driver destroyed a part of a brick wall that runs along the sidewalk. He promised to come back and fix it for me later that evening. After repeated attempts to get in contact with this person, I have had no answer back. He has still not fixed the area that he nearly destroyed.

I just moved in to a new house. I was happy with them and with what they did. Their price was not cheap but since there were three guys here, personally I felt that the price I paid was reasonable. They had to use a truck. Overall, they were excellent. There were things that typically a mover would not move. But, once they were here, I thought that it would be great if they could move things like the garden chambers. They moved some of it although they could not move all of it. I was very happy about that because most movers would not move that. I would have had to get a truck and move it myself. They did not break anything. They were very time efficient and they did not take their time. I had them for ten hours which sounds like a lot of time but there were a lot of things that had to be moved. Overall, they did a great job and saved us an enormous amount of time on a personal level. My husband was upset when he first received the bill but we had three guys here. I was more than happy with the price. The quality of their work was excellent. They were on time. They used time efficiently. They were not slow and moved at a good pace throughout the day. They broke for lunch that I had brought for them. They ate and got right back to work. I would absolutely use them again in the future if needed but I hope that I would not have to use them again as this is supposed to me our retirement home.

They were very quick to call and give me estimate for the move. They agreed to move me on a Saturday at 4:00 pm or later. On Saturday, they called around 5:30 pm and said their movers were runnning extremely late today, and might not make it until 9:00 or 10:00 pm (or later), so I could reschedule it for Monday. I was disappointed because I had counted on moving on the weekend. However, I did reschedule for Monday between 1:00 and 3:00 pm (they came at 1:30 pm). The movers were excellent -- they had a hard time moving some of the heavy dining room pieces to the second floor, but they did not complain. Overall, I would use them again.

They were late in picking up my items however, they did do a great job loading. It was the unloading that was a problem. They never put my bed up. They lost or kept one of my televisons. The didn't put the backs on the recliners. I had to make several calls to their office for two weeks. I finally spoke to someone about my television who said they would get back to me and they never did. Also, during one of the calls I was put on hold and no one ever came to the phone.

Using All My Sons for our crosstown move was a spectacular experience from start to finish. We were in the midst of buying a house and were getting the runaround from our bank on when we could move- their employees (especially Beth) were extremely understanding and accommodating with our scheduling challenges. The movers arrived punctually and did a fast and thorough job, despite my move being their third job of the day. All of our belongings arrived in pristine condition and they finished the job in less time than we anticipated. They definitely aren't the cheapest option available, but I found their prices comparable to everyone else and you definitely get what you pay for. I highly recommend this company!

The estimate for my local was provided quickly and professionally, on my schedule. Questions were answered in a reassuring manor and suggestions were made to make my move smoother. I had a great crew that showed up timely and worked hard all day. They will do as little or as much as you want from packing to furniture assembly at destination. The actual move required an additional trip which was not originally planned for but was still done in the estimated time and price. I am extremely satisfied with the service and experience. Thanks to Jarla, Bobbie and his crew moving day was a good day.

They were very fast, but I found later that they nicked some of my furniture either during the moving or by stacking it. Happy overall and they helped me out of a bind.

They never came to assess what needed to be moved. Three men came and when they saw how much stuff there was they asked if they could call a fourth man. My daughter was ok with this. Later on, one of the workers stated they never actually called for a fourth. The original quote was approximately $600 and because it took longer with three instead of four the final price was $1000. They also forgot to move the stuff from the garage and tried to charge additional her for that.

Very professional, courteous, and prompt. They were supposed to call me on their way, and they didn't, but it wasn't a problem because I was already home. But I would use them again. They moved and stored family heirloom furniture.

Very unsatisfactory. Raced through the house and did not successfully remove a hose from an appliance that attached to faucet and broke faucet. They expected me to pay for the plumber to come in and fix the faucet. They said I would have a professional moving my piano, and the guy actually used to hang drywall who moved it. They chipped the veneer on the piano. They even asked for a tip at the end.

I HAVE HEARD A LOT OF GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS COMPANY, AND I HAVE TO AGREE. THE GENTLEMEN WERE CAREFUL WITH EVERYTHING, AND THEY STAYED UNTIL EVERYTHING WAS MOVED IN AND PLACED WHERE IT NEEDED TO GO.

Their punctuality was terrible. As they are paid by the hour, in an effort to save money, I had prepped everything to be immediately moved. With my house packed up, I had nothing to do while I waited 9 hours for them to come. This was quite a disappointment when I had others relying on me to be at my new home for other installation appointments etc. However, when they did show up, the three men were hard workers and got the work done quickly and properly.

I had arranged with All My Sons to be the first job of the day, which was the 8am to 9am slot on June 30, 2006. Everything is packed, and nobody shows by 9am. I called their office, and they said I had cancelled on Thursday the 29th. That was news to me. I took off from work to get this all done. So because of some error on their end, I have to wait until 3pm to get anyone there. This throws my whole schedule off and delays my plans for getting my Aunt's apartment set up for her to move into. The guys doing the moving were polite and got the work done after they arrived in about 2 hours.

ALTHOUGH THEY ARE QUITE EXPENSIVE, THEY DID A PROFESSIONAL JOB. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THAT WE WERE NOT INFORMED IN ADVANCE THAT THEY DO NOT MOVE POTTED PLANTS. THE PAGE OF INFORMATION THAT THEY FAXED ME (ONLY UPON MY REQUEST) DID NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT NOT MOVING PLANTS. WHEN I PLEADED WITH THEM, THEY AGREED TO MOVE THE PLANTS. HOWEVER, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED OF THIS POLICY WHEN I BOOKED THE MOVERS.
