The crew that performed the work were all very polite and professional. They did a great job cleaning and edging the islands - mulch looks great too. I've had this work done almost every year since 1997 and this is the nicest my islands have looked. Highly recommend Hemlock.

I've talked to several places about landscape ideas in the past, and I think that Dennis was really the only one who got what I was looking for - keep it simple yet pretty, not real pricy, yet establish some curb appeal! I had nothing but weeds growing in the bed areas, and a few dying or misplaced plants. The suggestions he had and final plans looked great. I was out of town when the service was done, so I can't rate the actual workers, etc. But, it was done in a day and when I came home, I was really happy with the results! I think they went around to the side of the house with more plants which I didn't expect but was pleasantly surprised! The only suggestion would be to ask them to leave the planting care instructions the day they are there instead of mailing it with the invoice; it would have been nice to understand what I should do from day 2, but, an awesome job and I would definitely recommend and use them again!

This company's service today was exceptional! The workers are still here cleaning up, but I couldn't wait to write this review. Not only did the workers do everything I mentioned above, as per the contract we signed, but they also took the time to put seed down on a few bare spots in the backyard and to do a little extra clean up around the perimeter, all without my asking. I am so very impressed--and so thankful for the prompt and professional service this company provides. It's a bit expensive for us--not much more than other companies around, really--but their work is worth every single penny. We also employ this company to do our weekly yard maintenance. Highly recommended!

We had a positive experience with Hemlock. The work was performed as promised and the worker was prompt, courteous and did a nice job.

The service turned out just fine. They are very accommodating. If I call them to do something extra or need to leave a service out they are just fine with that.

You sign up in advance for ala carte services. You get to pick and choose with an actual reprepsentative what you want done to your yard, which is a huge advantage. They evalulate your services yearly and while they might not be the least expensive, they are very fairly priced. They do a great job with communication. They call you back immediately. They take it very seriously to address your needs and answer your questions. If there is ever a problem, they rectify it immediately. They respond very promptly to any concerns you may have.

Project well well; started on time and finished on time for the price we agreed. They did a large amount of plant movements in the various beds we have on our property. The overall design was good; we only introduced roughtly 20 new plants since we had a lot of existing material to move around. All beds were recut; weeded and mulched. Had an early concern when the initial sales person resigned from Hemlock after we agreed to have them do the work - but he handed the design off to the construction team; they picked up the design well and did a nice job. They accidentally cut a few sprinkler lines while removing some existing plants in various beds, which we realized that evening when we turned the sprinklers back on. I called them and they were there first thing the next morning and repaired all cut lines (nice!). Rated 'professionalism' with a 'C' due to two reasons - the design guy resigning mid-stream, and then how the work team departed - they packed up and left without stopping to say they were done / asking us if we were happy / needing anything further - they just disappeared. It would've been good for them to knock on the door, say they were done, offer to do a final walkaround with us, etc. The work itself was fine as I said before; but my view of the way they left without bothering to check in with us left something lacking. But all-in-all a friendly team, worked hard.

Took over 2 weeks to get the price for 3 different projects. I asked to have them separated but got a global price, then had to wait an additional week to get a revised price. Prices were way over what other companies quoted, I'm guessing they didn't want to the the job.

Very professional and personable estimate. They arrived on the date specified and worked quickly. Only complaints were the price and the three foot long by two inch wide divet in our driveway left I believe by their heavy equipment. I never confronted them about it so can't speak to as how they would have resolved it.

A company representative returned my call the same day I contacted them and I received a written quote for the work requested within 1-2 days. I was notified prior to any lawn treatment. They came regularly and did an excellent job. I will have them back next year. All dealings with this company have been very positive.

Hemlock has been great. They were responsive from the first call, followed quickly by a very professional consultation, and a quote with a specific plan for me. The price was reasonable given the work required and the other competitive quotes. Since choosing Hemlock several months ago, they've continued to be very professional and responsive, helping us turn around a lawn that was in terrible shape. I've been as impressed with the guys doing the service as I was with the president of the company who did the consultation. In summary, Hemlock provides a high level of service at a reasonable price. I've referred personal friends and neighbors to them already, and would strongly recommend them to anyone.

Overall I a very satisfied with the service Hemlock provided. They responded quickly and professionally to my initial inquiry, gave my options on the type of service they could provide and have been very dependable. I would highly recommend this company.

We were very disappointed. The inital consulation at the end of March was fine, Mr. Barriball was very nice but was only there to listen to our ideas/needs. He provided us with no suggestions at all. We did not expect much for free, but, there was no way for us to even see if his ideas were something we would want. We told Mr. Barriball we would be doing the work and needed bed layout and plant placement assistance. After the visit he sent us via e-mail, a survery, which we completed and sent back. In the email he noted the landscaping plans would cost us roughly $800.00-$1000.00. In our response with the survey, we indicated our budget of roughly $1500.00. We asked if payment and plans could be discussed to fit our needs. We waited more than a week and heard nothing. I called and left a message with a staff member to make sure the e-mail was received and to get feedback. As of today (4/29/11) we have heard nothing. It would seem our budget is not large enough to bother.
