The installation went OK but I had to plaster after the installation because the hole in the wall was bigger than the base of the new light fixture. I asked for a quote for some electrical work in the kitchen and was amazed at how high the quote was.

Well it just felt crumby to go through that work on my part to talk about an appointment date and get that set up only to be told at the end that it would cost me $79 for someone to come write a detailed estimate. I said no thanks and please cancel the appointment. I messaged on angies list to close the loop in the online messages and explain I wouldnt be going with them since there is the charge for them to come out. Jill messaged back reiterating the importance of having a tech come out and give an accurate estimate. She implied that free estimates are inaccurate. Also dont get me wrong, I know they have a business to run but it just seems excessive. Additionally, I dont know about you guys but I dont get paid to drive to work. It is expected that I get to work early and clock in and my pay doesnt start until after I am at my job site and ready to work. In this economy it is excessive when I have NEVER had a single contractor charge me for an estimate. Sorry for the bad review but I want to be sure others dont have wrong expectations when trying to collect estimates for electrical work.

Excellent. From my first phone call to Clover Electric I was impressed and knew this was a very well run business. The woman who took my call was knowledgeable and so professional, she could have been the owner - she represented them that well! The gentleman who came to my house was right on time, professional and extremely helpful. He was also very patient as he spent quite a bit of time with me explaining pros and cons of the different options I was considering. I was pretty indecisive, not knowing if I wanted to replace all of the outdated lighting with new fixtures or eliminate some of the lights altogether and upgrade only the path lights and the two entryways. He left me catalogs and many ideas for how to get the look I wanted in the most affordable way possible. I will absolutely use this company again as I continue work on my house. They are very good at what they do.

Switched out a light switch and did a fantastic job but the job took all of 5 minutes and cost more than expected.

Quoted $500 to replace 5 well-lights and $920 to replace all 18 lights. Declined quote and paid Clover $79 service call. Called a local landscape company that replaced all 18 lights and repaired coroded contacts for approximately $330.

I purchased the big deal as a gift and once the company went out to install they realized their equipment would not work with my friend's smaller breaker box.

The technician came out...very nice man, explained everything to be done. Then he gave me the price...YIKES! Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for those who work with electricity and they should be well paid, but this company is out of my price range. The price to install a grounded outlet in my living room was $700.00. (I use room heaters) If I didn't do that and just replaced the scorched outlet with a regular new one, $250.00. Oh, AND I had to pay for the privilege for them to come out to tell me I couldn't afford it. They refuse to give even any basic pricing over the phone.

There was no problem. The electrician came to the house and inspected all the wiring. Provided an estimate. We accepted the estimate and the job was started within a week and was on schedule with completion.

The electrician looked at the location and determined the cost of the job and while discussing the work, he showed us several fans that would work for us. The work was done well and he was very neat and clean. But while carrying his tools and equipment to our second floor he dropped one of his tools and damaged our new floor (it had been installed two months before). When he completed the work, he asked for a small down payment of 20%± (he spoke with the owner) and then we were to deduct the cost of the repair from the balance due when the repair was done, and we agreed to the arrangement. If this had been handled any other way, we would have been upset and very angry but it was handled in such a good way we were left with a good impression of Clover. We will definitely use this provider again and with confidence. We will certainly recommend them to others.

They were professional and responsive. The contractor came out and said it would be an extra $300. I was just surprised at the extra costs.

They were pleasant on the phone, but I couldn't imagine paying someone to give me a quote for work. It must be good to be Clover Electric.

Took advantage of an Angie's List Big Deal for electrical work. Called to have them install a new ceiling fan I had purchased. Technician came out & installed it. Was very professional and very neat. Will definitely use again.

I called Clover Electric because they offered a Big Deal Offer for 2 hours of electrical service for a flat price. When the serviceman came out to give me an estimate they explained that it would take a bit longer than the 2 hour time limit due to the difficulty involved in installing the outlet where I wanted it placed. I scheduled the job and the same workman arrived on time and did the job as promised. Clover was very professional and took care of the project then cleaned up the area. I was happy that I called them for the Big Deal since I was able to take care of an electrical project that my wife and I had wanted to take care of to enhance our home.

trained pros.. and you pay for it. I'm sure other companies with certified electricians could do the work for less. They go by their "book"... set prices and the usual "upgrade" speech comes every time.

Initially we were confused by the reviews because they failed to contact us in a timely manner as promised. However, after we called back to see what happened they apologized and did the $79 diagnostic for free to make amends.We all make mistakes, but they handled theirs remarkably. The technician was on time and professional. He explained everything to me and offered to make remove old light and install new fixture for $140. Luckily for me, I was able to take care of the problem on my own once I found out what the problem was. I would recommend them because you will get what you pay for, even if it is a little pricey.

Tom and Sam were first rate professionals to work with on this project. I would highly recommend them. Their first visit was to remove the decorative lighting. Showed up right on time as promised and took care of that step. They also left the necessary materials for the sewer replacement team to lay the new ground rods in the trench. The follow-up visit was to replace the lights. Showed up right on time as promised and did that as well as reconnected the new ground line to the electric box. During the visit, we had some conversation about some trouble with the electric service - Sam did a complete checkup on our line and discovered that we had lost our neutral in the main electric feed in the house, which prompted a call to First Energy for repair (and they confirmed this problem did exist). This work as done outside of the scope of the original project, but included in the total project pricing. Clover Electric has performed other service work for us in the past, and we have been very pleased with them on those projects as well.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was good. There was quite an additional cost for some of the work they did and it was far more than I expected to pay. The work they did was fine. I purchased 2 $79 deals for them thinking that it would be more than enough to cover the cost of what was needed to be done but that was not the case. I will not hire them again. I since got an electrician who charges me $500 for probably 3 times of the work that Clover did. He's totally thorough and very, very good and he had worked in our home since and I would not go back to Clover for sure. I'm not blaming it on Angie's List, it's just the way it all came together. They quote the job when they come out and tell you how much it will cost. I already purchased these 2 things so I'm kind of stuck. I pretty much had them do the work and finish it otherwise I would have lost the other money. Everything else was fine. They were on time, he was responsive, the work they did was good, and it was really boiled down to the cost. I don't like it when they come out and quote you right there on the spot because you could say no but you're kind of in a tough position because they've already come out and they come all the way on the other side of town. It was a 45-minute ride for them to get to me and then they quote you and you could say no but you're wanting to get the work done. At that point I could have walked away from them and tried to shop around but then I would have been out $158 for the 2 things that I bought. I would have lost $158 and got nothing for the money. I would never buy something like that again where they come out and quote you unless I knew that this is the final price for these items. I would never buy another deal like that again.

They were a little expensive, but it was okay. I was satisfied with it. They were quick to come out. I paid more than the big deal, because I had additional work done. I was happy with the work; I just thought they were a tad expensive. I would use them again.

We ended up getting a refund for the coupon because the description of the deal was misleading.

It turned out just fine. It was at least few hundred bucks I think. I would probably not use them again, they are little too expensive.

We had some extra work done by Clover Electric so we paid a little more than the big deal.
