TruGreen Lawn Care - 5795

Initially they said it would $19.35 a visit but after one visit it went up to $38.70. (They said it'd be for the first two visits.) Then a guy called from Scott's to ask if I wanted the Grub-X service for $60. I said no. He later called saying he'd do the regular service and I said fine, but this is the last time. They came out and did the Grub-X any ways and charged me for it. That was $103.20. I called several times to get it right and finally talked to an Anthony who said he'd get it taken off. I got a bill and it was still on there and they even added a $7.50 charge for being past due. I asked them to knock on my door when they came and they never did. I had asked for a liquid because my dog would get into the crystals and that's why I wanted them to knock, so I could watch them.

I started using these guys years ago, after I had a new lawn laid. The first couple of years, it looked great! Each year, though, their treatments have become very ineffective with no responses as to why I have more weeds than ever in the lawn. Some of these weeds have responded to nothing they have done, but I'm given no information or recommendations on solutions.

First three were excellent. Last three were poor. Weather conditions were not ideal and the lawn ended up with large yellow striped areas. Company returned and reapplied more fertilizer, but there was no improvement. We canceled service September 30, 2006 and they acknowledged it January 29, 2007. They then sent us a 2007 estimate on February 8, 2007. It's too bad we didn't get all this extra attention while we were customers.

They use very high pressure sales tactics and keep calling and bothering you to use their service. They put up a sign for fertilizing even when they don't.

This is the continued yearly service where I received a phone call every year to ask if I would like to continue service and if I would like any changes. By paying in total at the beginning of the year I receive a discount and they come as needed throughout the season, leaving a lawn evaluation and recommendations on my doorknob. The only trouble Ive had this year is a chemical burn on the lawn, where they spilled some of the fertilizer apparently when unloading the truck. They do the applications when I m not home and leave the signs in place so I know theyve been there. My lawn stays pretty healthy, with minimal effort from me.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. MY LAWN WAS TAKEN OVER BY CRABGRASS DURING THE SUMMER. IT TOOK SEVERAL CALLS FOR SOMEONE TO COME OUT AND FINALLY SPRAY THE RIGHT CHEMICAL TO KILL THE CRABGRASS. HOWEVER, THERE WAS SO MUCH OF IT THAT NOW WE HAVE HUGE THIN AND UGLY BROWN AREAS IN THE LAWN. THE REP WHO FINALLY CAME OUT (KEITH) SAID THEY "RAN OUT OF CRABGRASS KILLER" DURING THE SUMMER. THE PEOPLE WHO CAME FOR THE NORMAL APPLICATIONS NEVER EVEN MENTIONED THE CRABRASS ON THEIR REPORTS - IT WAS LIKE THEY DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE IT! AFTER SEVERAL LETTERS TO THE COMPANY PRESIDENT AND OTHERS, THE REP FINALLY CAME BACK OUT AND SAID THAT THEY WOULD AERATE AND TOP SEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WHEN ASKED WHEN THEY WOULD DO IT, HE SAID "WE WILL TRY THIS WEEK". IT HAS NOW BEEN ALMOST TWO WEEKS WITH NO SERVICE AND NO CALL, NOTHING.... THEY NEVER EVEN SEEMED TO TAKE OWNERSHIP FOR THE PROBLEM OR ACT LIKE THEY CARE, NO APOLOGY, NOTHING. THIS IS FRANKLY THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER DEALT WITH.

The company was very professional and arrives when scheduled.

This company perpetuates a scam that includes an automatic annual continuation of service without authorization to do so. My agreement was for one year of service as a trial that I paid for upfront in 2005. They applied fertilizer and crabgrass control to a lawn that had just had the identical fertilizer applied to the frontyard. They also applied their crabgrass control to my newly seeded backyard lawn, which prevented the germination

THEY DID A VERY NICE JOB EACH TIME THEY CAME, SPRAYING ON LIQUID FERTILIZER AND ROLLING ON THE GRANULAR WEED CONTROL. THE MEN WERE NEAT, WORKED QUICKLY AND LEFT NO RESIDUE ON SIDEWALKS OR DRIVEWAY.

I was disappointed. They had a problem following directions, such as calling ahead. They were also very messy with the fertilizer. There was as much fertilizer on our driveway as there was on the grass.

Came when scheduled. Weeds were not always under control. Had to call for service and extra visits to eliminate problem. Price was comparable to others. Very persistent for the sale.

I was under the understanding that there was to be more then my very small front yard done-although that is all that they did-displeased with the amount of money for such a small area.

The technician performing the services was professional, courteous, and always came when expected. The office can be a bit aggressive when trying to sell additional services, sometimes calling 3 times within 2 days with different salespeople trying to sell the same service. The billing department called me on 2 occasions to "remind" me to pay my bill when no bill was received yet. I had always been current on my payments, and found these "reminder" calls annoying and insulting. I'm not sure if I will continue with them.

Company is well run. We have pets and have asked that they call and get approval to come out before putting down applications. This is done consistently. Service and results are excellent.

LAWN DETERIORATED OVER THE SEASON, STILL INQUIRING INTO REASONS.

OVERALL I WAS PLEASED WITH THE SERVICE. I WAS NEVER HOME WHEN THEY WERE ACTUALLY TREATING THE LAWN BUT THEY DID COME WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD AND LEFT THE INVOICE AND OCCASIONAL SAMPLES AND INFORMATION ON LAWN CARE ON MY DOOR. MY LAWN OVERALL SEEMED TO IMPROVE IT WAS GREENER AND HAD FEWER WEEDS THAN BEFORE I STARTED THE PROGRAM.

THEIR PRICE WAS HIGHER THAN OTHERS. THE SALES PERSON WAS SOMEWHAT PUSHY. PROBABLY WOULD NOT CALL THEM AGAIN.

TRUEGREEN CHEMLAWN INSTRUCTED ME ON MY LAWN and LANDSCAPED NEEDS. THEY SHOWED UP WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD THROUGHOUT THE SEASON. MY LAWN WAS GREEN and ALMOST WEED FREE. THE BIGGEST SURPRISE WAS THE LANDSCAPED AREAS. MY SHRUBS and FLOWERS NEVER LOOKED BETTER and NOT ONE LEAF HAD AN INSECT BITE! COST WAS A LITTLE MORE THAN IF WE DID IT OURSELVES. IF YOU PAY FOR THE ENTIRE PACKAGE UP FRONT YOU GET A 10% DISCOUNT.

SOMEONE NAMED TOM IS APPARENTLY IN CHARGE AND AS FAR AS IM CONCERNED HE COMPLETELY DROPPED THE BALL.

SALES PERSON TOLD ME THE WEEDS AND CRAB GRASS WOULD BE TAKEN CARE OF BY THE TREATMENTS YET ALL SUMMER THE WEEDS AND CRAB GRASS HAVE BEEN APPARENT. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD RE-SEED THE BARE AREAS OF MY LAWN. THEY CAME OUT AN THREW DOWN SOME GRASS SEE ON TOP OF ROCK HARD DIRT AND TOLD ME TO WATER IT AND THAT I COULD RAKE IT IN IF I WANTED TO. THE SALES MAN SOLD ME ON PROMISES THAT THEY ARE NOT LIVING UP TO. I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THIS COMPANY AND SERVICE THEY PROVIDE.

THE COMPANY DID NOT DELIVER SERVICES AS PROMISED. THE LAWN TECHNICIAN DID NOT TREAT THE YARD. SERVICE HAS BEEN HORRIBLE. PHONE CALLS COMPLAINING HAVE NOT BEEN RETURNED. LETTERS OF COMPLAINT HAVE NOT BEEN RESPONDED TO. THIS HAS BEEN A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - I HAVE BEEN TOTALLY RIPPED OFF BY THIS COMPANY AND WANT THEM TO REIMBURSE ME FOR WHAT I PAID LAST YEAR AND THIS YEAR SO FAR OR FIX MY YARD FREE OF CHARGE UNTIL IT LOOKS GOOD AGAIN.

THE TECHNICIAN WHO CAME OUT TO THE HOUSE RAN OUT OF FERTILIZER AND DIDNT FINISH THE JOB. IT ALSO TOOK HIM ABOUT 15 MINUTES TO DO FRONT AND BACK - DIDNT DO A THOROUGH JOB AND I CANCELLED THE SERVICE. I WAS WARNED ABOUT THIS AFTER I SIGNED UP FOR THE SERVICE.

I BEGAN USING SCOTTS ONE YEAR AGO. PRIOR TO THAT, I DID MY OWN FERTILIZATION FOUR TIMES PER YEAR. MY YARD IMPROVED IMMEDIATELY WHEN SCOTTS PUT ME ON THEIR SIX APPLICATION PER YEAR PROGRAM. THE SERVICE WORKER HAS ALWAYS BEEN COURTEOUS AND THEY MAKE SURE YOU ARE SATISFIED AND YOUR QUESTIONS ARE ANSWERED. AS FOR PRICE, THEY SEEM VERY COMPETITIVE WITH OTHER SERVICE PROVIDERS. THE SCOTTS PRODUCT HAS MADE MY YARD VERY HEALTH AS COMPARED TO ALL MY SURROUNDING NEIGHBORS. I PAY THEM $50.00 PER APPLICATION. FOR THE PRICE, THEY FERTILIZE JUST UNDER ONE ACRE. SIGN UP FOR THEIR PRE-PAY PROGRAM AND RECEIVE A DISCOUNT.

I HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE I HAVE RECEIVED FROM TRUGREEN CHEMLAWN. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO SOMEONE WHO IS IN THE MARKET FOR A LAWN CARE COMPANY.
