Action Door

We were referred to this company by the company that used to take care of our garage door needs. This company charged us close to double what our old company charged, They charged by the hour. It took a lot longer than previous repairs. The workman took an inordinately long time preparing the bill-which we were charged for! We did call to dispute the bill and they grudgingly acknowledge a mistake and gave us a small refund, in about six weeks we started having problems with the door again.

Went just as they described it would and now have lifetime warranty. they had replaced our garage door opener about 2010 and our spring before that. Both with lifetime warranties. I had a problem in 2011 which they fixed at no cost to us. So, when it was time to replace my garage door that was falling apart we decided to go with them after comparing to other companies. At virtually the same price, we decided they would be our best choice with lifetime warranty. Now, if we have any problem with any part of our garage door system, it will be under their warranty. the job was completed with good quality and cleaned up entire area. Only glitch was they used steel wheels in channels when they were supposed to use quieter ones. One call and they came back and changed wheels out, promptly and no charge

The work was good and the door is fine. The obstruction when the door closed, which was my fault, was repaired and a general checkup of the trac and oiling of the coil was done as an extra added benefit. I am happy with Action Door and will hire them again. They are capable, polite and professional.

My experience was good, nothing went wrong. They showed up and did the job as expected. There wasn't anything above and beyond but there wasn't anything wrong with the service.

I had a fabulous experience with them. The guy was prompt and clean. It was a reasonable cost. I asked if he minded me looking over his shoulder, and he said no. He also said that the only person that minds you if you look over their shoulders is somebody who does not know what they were doing which I thought was a good answer. He was friendly without being smarmy or creepy.

They did a nice job! They showed up quickly, and they got the job done the first time. I recommend others to use them. They did everything I asked them to do, and they did it promptly. In addition, their price was reasonable.

Rich, our installer, showed up bright and early to do the garage door and opener installation, and everything looks and is running great. Our old garage door was a 40 year old wood monster, and he took it down, installed a new beautiful door and opener(our old opener railing had ripped out from the garage door) and hauled the old door away. He was fast and friendly and left the garage cleaner than it was before he arrived. Very happy with Rich and Dan, the salesman who on 2 separate occasions, came over to drop off the info I needed to make a decision on the door and opener. Thanks guys!

I did not know the spring was broken, (my son noticed it on his visit) as my garage door opener was working. The repair man said I was only using my opener to lift the heavy door (I have a double garage door) and was lucky I didn't burn it out. He asked if the door was taking longer to open, which it was, but not by much. The repair man was professional, he explained what he needed to do, and the spring was fixed and working well. As I am writing this review in July 2013, the door has given me no trouble and works great!

The cables in my door got screwed up when someone else lifted the door too far. First, door would not shut, then after removing a cable from door, it would not open. Was leaving the next am on vacation and car was inside. Action Door was terrific and Mike fixed everything up like new (actually better than it has ever been).

The man who did the work (I can't remember his name) was prompt, courteous, and professional. He completed the job quickly and made sure everything was working properly before he left.

Action Door did a good job and I had no problems with them.

The technician arrived on time to do the installation. He first did the removal of the broken opener and sensors. He then installed the new opener. When he completed his installation, he was kind enough to re-program my existing transmitters to work with the new opener. He was able to re-program my existing keypad to work with the new saving me the cost of a new one. .

They showed up a bit late but completed the job very well and on time.

It went smoothly and the new opener works well.

Very well, in spite of the fact the garage, part of an older house, has an unusual configuration requiring a difficult installation.

They were prompt, did a good job, and they were reasonable. He told me about a coupon they had online that I was able to take advantage of.

A completely positive experience from start to finish. The estimate was painless. The sales rep came out at the beginning of the time window I was given and within an hour I had a written estimate. I mentioned that I was getting a new door because my condo association threatened to fine me if I didn't and he asked what the deadline was. I told him I still had two weeks and he said they could be there on Monday. (This appt. took place on a Friday.) I actually asked them to give a me a couple of days more so I could move some money around. The installer was a pleasure to deal with. He was thoughtful and funny and took plenty of time to walk me through the operation of the door. He also did a great job of cleaning up after. I think my garage was actually cleaner than it was when he arrived. I'm only sorry I don't have the names of the people I dealt with. It wasn't until I was changing the light bulb in the garage today that I realized that I hadn't left a review. I've recommended Action Door to two people since last summer and I will recommend them again.

I could not use my brand new garage door opener - the cable kept unraveling. The handyman from House Doctors told me the tension bar was bent and I needed a door expert. He recommended this company Action Door. They would not come out unless on-site payment was guaranteed - no problem there. The worker came, fixed the problem, told me I have a 90 day warranty, I gave him a check for payment and he left. The very next day one of the cables he was working on was not working again, so I called the company back. I told the person on the phone this should be covered under the 90 day warranty. Right away, the person told me "no, you broke the door." I sort of knew we were going to have trouble. My brother age 39 was there alone with his 2 kids when the worker came. He quickly fixed the problem then asked for $30. My brother did not have it. I had told him to call me for a credit card payment if any additional parts were needed. But they refused to do that. The worker would not leave. No one would call me to try and straighten out the issue or obtain payment. My brother was just about to call the police. The worker finally left in disgust (I think he may have disagreed with his management on this issue). I do not like the tactics of this company. They do not want to honor the warranties on their work since they have to come out without getting paid. I don't even know what the problem is with using a credit card because they would never call me about anything. They need to take credit card payments. They need to learn to work with their customers better to get the job done and get paid. I will avoid using this company in the future.

Door went off the tracks late at night. Policeman helped me get it closed for security. I called left message. He came the next day - A Saturday on his way to a wedding.

They were extremely easy to work with and prompt. The work was performed well and the problem has been solved.

I was on my way to work at 6:30 AM when I discovered that my garage door would not open and was too heavy for me to lift. I called Action Door,they have 24 hr emergency service. The company called back within 30 minutes and Mike arrived at my house by 8:00 AM.I had a broken spring,Mike replaced both springs, checked the opener, and lubed everything. The whole job took 1 hour and I was on my way to work by 9:30,I was so happy! They had been to my house in the past for a tune up, it was a deal through Angie's List,so I had their number handy and already knew that the service was great.

I contacted Action Door because my garage door was off track. A technician came out and attempted to repair my door. He diagnosed that one of my garage door cables was broken. He gave me a quote of $235 to repair the door. I thought this was steep but I allowed him to proceed with the repair. He worked on my door for 2 hours and was unable to repair the door. He charged me $70 although the door was still broken. I had another garage company repair the door. They found that the Action tech had installed the wrong cable (a spring cable instead of a straight cable). This was the reason his repair did not work. Even worse the faulty repair caused one of my rails to bend. The other company replaced the cables and rail for $120. I will never use Action ever again.
