Always on-time, smart and pleasant. Dave has been coming to our 100-year-old home for over 10 years to prepare our furnace for winter. We never turn on the furnace until Dave come to check. He takes the time to explain what he has done and he has always been right. We count on Dave!

The tune up went well. He provided very useful information about how our system works.

He showed up on time. Analyzed why the air was not feeling cool. Recharged the system and did some other basic checks and that was it. Quick and he was professional too.

The contract we have with Original Donnelly cost $397 per year and was to cover yearly cost of HVAC check-up and repairs if necessary. Repair parts were to be covered. The technician claimed to charge the AC with refrigerant at the cost of $83. He took apart the pilot on the boiler and said they no longer make parts for this boiler and suggested I replace it with a new unit. I was upset so he said he would go back and see if his boss Gary could find a part somewhere. He left with the boiler shut down and out of commission. He stated that it was doubtful they would find a part but would let me know. Being unhappy with this technician and Originally Donnelly's continual recommendation we buy a new AC and Boiler I called Strongsville HVAC to come and check. After arranging an appointment with Strongsville Gary called from O.D. saying he had finally found a part. I told him to forget it, I am having someone else check out boiler. on Tuesday 8/6 the Strongsville Technician arrived, checked the boiler and said it is an old model and he could fix the pilot but the boiler is in excellent shape and does not need replacement. He said he had an electronic retro-fit kit that replaces the old mercury pilot. I had him install the retro-fit kit and all went well. My experience with Original Donnelly has been paying for a contract and each time they come to do anything they want to sell a new boiler and HVAC. I paid $397 for a 1 year contract in March 2013. I feel Donnelly should refund at least half of my contract money though I don't expect them to.

All went very well. parts were replaced and boiler continued to function.

I found this company from Angie’s List. I called him for an estimate. They guy that came out was professional, he was on time and he was cordial. He was emphatic about my need to get the work done on my 50 year old house and he knew what he was doing. The only problem is the estimate that they gave me was pretty high. So, they didn't do any work and they’re not gonna get the job.

We like them. They are very efficient, respectful and do their job in an excellent manner and they clean up after themselves. They are a good company. We will use them again in the future.

If their salesmen are anything like the rest of the company, RUN AWAY! Showed up 35 minutes early(sometimes that's not a good thing). Didn't ask many questions. Had a HUGE smirk on his face and maybe that's because he saw a woman that he could take advantage of, not sure. I was about to ask him to leave right then and there cause I wasn't feeling comfortable and then my father showed up in the nick of time! My Dad asked him what he thought we should put in and he started going on about blower speed and amperage. What? All the other contractors talk about efficiency ratings, BTUs and SEERs and this guy was obviously trying to talk over are heads or talking out his @$$, I wasn't sure. He then continued to put us down and treat us both like we were clueless and NEEDED this company. We played along for about 5 minutes. I then asked him politely one last time what BTU and SEER he was suggesting and he avoided the question once again and started going on about codes and said, "Just cut to the chase and make a check out for $7,000." WOW! Okay, maybe this is just his selling style, but it definitely didn't fit in with our way of doing business. I asked him to leave. He didn't get up. So I asked him again. Still didn't want to leave. The third time, I told him to get the h*** out! There were little quirks about this guy right off the bat that didn't seem right, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. The biggest thing I didn't like overall, I asked for a Carrier quote and he kept telling me I should be looking at Payne and whatever their super low-end crap is. He told me the Carrier products I wanted weren't available in this area, but the other two Carrier Companies had no problem being able to get what I wanted.

We weren't sure about how extensive of a job we needed. Gave us 2 estimates: one to do minimal fix of the original problem, one to rewire entire building (7-unit 1928 building in Lakewood.) We are now getting a few bids to do entire building. Original Donnelly was very helpful.

II had moved into our house last year and Donnelly had always been the one to service our boiler so I continued to call them. Last winter our boiler started short cycling, Donnelly came out, cleaned the sensors, and recommended we make sure it be cleaned every season. So I called and had the annual maintenance done in September this year. At that point the serviceman told us we needed to replace our module, and that he would price it out and call us back. He never did call us back, and the boiler worked just fine so I never them called back. A few days ago it started short cycling again so once again I called Donnelly, they sent someone out and this time the serviceman said he cleaned it, and now thought there was a problem with the thermostat, but that he, and I quote, "Had no idea". So he said he would see if they could find a manual for the themostat and left. He never called back so I called them. No one at the office knew what I was talking about. So an hour later we here from the original service man (from September) with a price of almost 800 dollars for the module. When I asked about the thermostat problem he said he had no idea what I was talking about. So I decided to call another company. The new service came out an hour later and said that the sensors had never been cleaned. So he cleaned them, and it stopped short cycling. He also told me that if we ended up having to replace the module it would cost around 459.00 including install. So, the moral of the story here is that we got ripped off for paying for a diagnostic call where they couldn't even tell us what was wrong, and were lied to because they never even cleaned the sensors. I will definitely NOT use Donnelly again.

This company had been servicing my ancient furnace over the years. However, it appears it has actually been acquired in the last few years by another company based in Berea, called Huge Heating. When the guy showed up in a Huge (rather than a Donnelly) van, I asked him why. He gave me a song and dance about the companies merged, but he was really with Donnelly. However when the bill arrived, it was from Huge. That does not sit well with me. They are responding on the phone as Donnelly -- but apparently that company is actually not in business. Secondly, he took HOURS -- at least THREE HOURS -- working on my furnace, only to finally announce that I would either have to spend $800 for a part (which was not practical for a 50 year old furnace) or get a new furnace. I requested him to have his folks call me to schedule an estimate for a new furnace. However, by the time they called me, I had already contacted and received estimates from THREE other companies. Needless to say, I didn't bother calling them back. Because the service guy had spent so long -- I ended up getting charged an extra $100. I believe it was clear within one hour that the furnace was not reparable without a major investment. I believe the service guy kept tinkering around and making phone calls to run up the bill. Of course, I have no way to prove this. I just bit the bullet and paid the bill. My impression, Donnelly is no more. Huge doesn't have the staff to actually handle the business in Lakewood in a timely fashion.

On August 23, 2010, our AC began to fail. The air coming from the registers was room temperature (79 deg F). On Friday afternoon at 4:45 p.m., we called Original Donnelly and they sent a technician out. No coolant remained in the system, so at our request he added enough to get us through the 90+ deg weekend. On Monday, August 23, the technician found a large leak in the coil on top of the furnace. He told us that a new coil was very expensive and that it would only carry a 1-yr warrantee. Since our furnace was 19 yr old, we asked to talk to the salesman Kevin. He designed a system that would suit our needs. He inspected our house top to bottom. We were very pleased with the work ethic of all personnel. We especially were relieved that Mr. Donnelly scheduled the air conditioning system installation so quickly. Our daughter has had two open-heart surgeries and could not tolerate the over 90-degree temperature in the house. In fact, on the day they installed the new furnace and AC system, she was wearing a 24-hr heart monitor to gather information for her cardiologist.

arrived at the time expected and serviced the airconditioning unit - cleaned, changed filter, etc. then proceeded to check our hot water boiler to be certain it is in operating condition. boiler requires parts that must be ordered & they will return and install them. Originally Donnelly has done our service work for 8 years. Have always been satisfied. we have a yearly contract with them and they perform a yearly inspection and tune-up plus service if a breakdown of equipment. yearly contract approx. $400

The service was excellent. The came when they were supposed to. They were very pleasant, and did the work quickly.

The overall presentation was well done. They performed their work beautifully and they went above and beyond my expectations. The unit works fabulously and I would give them a high recommendation. They were very professional and clean. They cleaned up after themselves very well and they did their job without wasting time.

Original Donnelly replaced my old screw-in fuse panel/FPE panel with a modern 30 space panel. The service coming into the house also needed to be replaced including the meter and mast. The work only took one day and was very professionally done. I was even able to pay with my credit card over the phone which was very convenient.

They were fine. I didn’t do any price comparison. Their quality and responsiveness were very good.

We had used them for several years but this year they broke our boiler and we had to get a new one. We wouldn't recommend them. They broke a part and then they told us it would cost a lot more to fix it. We got quotes from other contractors and found a better deal. We weren't pleased with Original Donnelly and will probably never use them again. The price for a new furnace was fine but they broke the old one and were going to charge us a lot more.

They did an awesome job. The experience was good. They were prompt, very efficient, always do the job and are very polite. I would recommend them to anyone.

It went absolutely beautifully. They did a good job with the generator and they have a good reputation so we called them back for the heating and air conditioning system. They explained our options and we decided on a hybrid system rather than geothermal.
