What he did do for us was great, but there were some issues with the billing. I wanted something done that didn’t exactly fit the coupon, but he wanted me to purchase another coupon. He told me that Angie’s List wasn’t allowing him to do certain work. He ended up coming out to do the work, which turned out to be more than what the coupon was worth. The coupon wasn’t applied, it was just face value. He told me that he’d call Angie’s List and then get back to me, but never did. I also asked him to come back to do some other things, which we got resolved.

The experience turned out well overall. First, he wanted us to do a 5-year contract, but when I asked them about that, he told me that because we're Angie’s List members, we’d be able to only sign 2-year contract. They did a good job, and we’ve had no issues. I’m very happy with the alarm system!

We wound up having to pay more than what the Deal was for, but they explained everything upfront before they even started the work. This was only because they couldn’t do the install that was listed since I did not have a landline phone, which was what the Deal was for. They answered all of my questions and we set up an install date. Even during the holiday season, they were always responsive with returning emails or phone calls. If there was something that was different than what it appeared to be, they made sure to explain everything clearly. The technician arrived early, was professional, and took less time to do the work than what was quoted. There were no surprises, and they were exactly as they advertised themselves!

Two people came to the house right on schedule, installed the system and explained all the features.

I wish I had the time to do a more extensive report but this company did an outstanding job installing and explaining our home alarm system. We converted from ADT so were able to reuse much of the equipment. We added carbon monoxide detector which probably raised the price above what most others would pay. Good Job! The monthly charge is substantially cheaper than what we were paying for ADT's service. Another factor affecting the price was we added wireless operation.

I scheduled appontment with him, he responded to all emails very promptly. Came on time. Installed equipment, cleaned up everything after install. Even helped take the box downstairs and out to the trash. Would definitly use this company again.

I did not get any service from them. I don't know how their work is, it was the issue of scheduling an appointment. Their scheduling process is not efficient. They were not accommodating to my schedule. I started trying to call them to schedule, but never received any response over the phone. It took them 24-48 hours, typically, to even respond to my emails. They would tell me that they would need to delay the appointment by another four days.

My contact with Matthew Wain of A Sound Alternative was professional from the very first e-mail. He was very willing to wait until my schedule allowed time for the installation. Matthew and an associate arrived at my house on time. The work was done quickly, quietly, and neatly. Matthew explained all of the documents that needed to be signed and answered all of my questions. The only thing I should have done differently was write down the instructions as they were given to me. Of course, I thought I'd remember everything, but as soon as they left I felt a little tentative. I went to the manufacturer's website and made up a "cheat sheet" of my own. That might be a really good idea for the future. I am really pleased with my new security system and I wouldn't hesitate to call Matthew if other needs arise.

They arrived on time, were very professional, and did a great job hanging our plasma tv. They made happily made adjustments to the location of the tv,and cleaned up the dust from the install. We bought a big deal from Angie's list and we and to pay for an up charge for a larger tv, however that was clearly explained when I bought the package. I would highly recommend this company.

At first, they were very responsive. However, as time went on, they were postponing the appointments a total five or six times.The day that they finally came out for the appointment they were an hour and a half late. They stated that the mount wouldn't look good in the place that I wanted it. They stated that it would be an extra $100.00 on top of the big deal that I had purchased. The big deal stated that they would hide the cords; they stated that it has nothing to do with it because of a safety thing. I was told that he was gonig to send a quote, but I never heard from them. I contacted them again for the quote. He stated that he did send the quote, but never got it. I asked him to resend, and still haven't gotten. In the same time, he told me to get a TV stand. I asked for refund and the owner stated that I can contact Angie's List for a refund. Basically, it was either the way they wanted to do or that I would have to pay more money. It was almost like he didn't want the job. Lastly, it is almost false advertising that they would hide the cords, when they said they wouldn't.

From start to finish the job went as smooth as possible. Phone calls returned as expected, appointment times kept, installation was done exactly as described. In addition the company has been available for follow up questions. Their response time to questions is nearly instant via email. We're very happy with everything and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

They did a great job. They showed up when they said they would. I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

The company's responsiveness was great. The installer was on time and took the time to explain everything he was doing. The system is easy to use and has performed flawlessly. I would highly recommend the system and A Sound Alternative.

The company was punctual with the appointment for the quote - came on time and did a quick review. Promised to send the quote within a day or two. After a week and a couple of reminders I got the quotes for the alarm system setup and the surround sound. The quotes were very high!! A few quick searches on the internet I was able to discern that they guys were over-charging way too much! I know I am not an expert on these businesses, but the quotes seemed to assume that I the customer must be an idiot! Why would I pay so much more when other very good options exist for much less? Let's just say I finally used a company that charged me 85% less for the alarm set up and 50% less for the sound system. And I am very satisfied with the results/services.

Angela from A Sound called and scheduled a security walk through for our home. Matt, one of the partners, and a salesperson for the company showed up a few minutes early for the meeting. He was very professional and walked through our entire home and helped us come up with a security solution that met our needs and budget. The monitoring rate of $29.99 per month with cell backup was very good. We looked with other companies and most offered less service for more money, and none of the ones we spoke with offered a cell backup we could use with our blackberry phones. It really was awesome. They even came in under the initial budget of $399.00

James is a genius at his work. He took what seems to be a very complicated system of wires and cables and docks and panels into a high production system of sound and picture. Putting together so many components with ease and later instructing me as to how to utilize the system was greatly appreciated. James worked very hard to make sure the system was running perfectly and to this day, it remains a focal point for guests who love the sound quality and superior performance. James and Anthony worked together very well.
