I called on Friday to make an appointment. I was told Tuesday between 2:00-4:00. Clint arrived at 2:45. He was very professional and courteous. He looked at the outlet and said that he had to revise the polarity of the plug. He gave me an estimate of $65.00-$81.00. He completed the work within a half hour. I asked him if they had a senior discount and he said no. He then asked me if I was an Angie's List member (I had not thought about this at the time) and I said yes and received 10% discount. My total bill was $59.50. I have used Jess Howard in the past and have always been satisfied. The prices have always been reasonable. I will use them again. Thanks for good reliable service.

I had to call them twice to get the appointment scheduled after I had signed the estimate to move forward. They were late the day of. I had to call them to see what was keeping them. They did send a second person in the afternoon to assist so they could finish the same day since they started late. The work was quality and they cleaned up after themselves. Good work just not very organized.

We have used Jess Howard many times. They have always been good and professional. We had them come out to a strange electrical problem in April where all our outside lights went off together with some bathroom fixtures and some interior lights. They eventually found improper wiring of a GFCI in our main upstairs bathroom and solved the problem. Yesterday the problem reoccured and this morning at 8am I called and talked with the electrician who had come out to our home in April. He advised that either another GFCI had tripped or we had a GFCI gone bad in our downstairs bath. He explained why this could be happening and how the GFCIs may be wired so that I could get an overview of the issue. he then described how to rewire a new GFCI if I did not really need them to come out. I checked everything and then rechecked the bathrooms upstairs and found a GFCI tripped. Reset and lights back on downstairs and outside. Great job and now I understand how the circuits work. They could have made an easy call out fee but gave great service instead. Great company, great service, great people..

They were supposed to install a controller for my generator. I picked them because the manager assured me that they had done them before. The person who showed up to do the work had never installed one before and did not instal it correctly. He came back a 2nd time and said he could get it to work part way but did not know how to install it completely. In the end they charged me by the hour at a cost that was 3-4x the estimate.

- I was canning and I really needed my stove asp. Jess Howard save my day. And I got a year for the service they done on stove.
Description of Work: Our stove is a Sears glass top. Sears came out and look at the stove said we had a electric problem.So I looked on Angies list and found Jess Howard and they came within 3 hours. It was a loose wire nut and when I used stove it would expan the wire and touch the stove and blow fuse box. Jess charged less than Sears. Thanks Jess Howard.

They are very reasonable and very good at what they do. In my opinion, they are the best electrical company in Columbus Ohio. They arrive on time, do a good job, and finish on the spot, so I don't have to call them back.

The contractor arrived on time (10 min early) very polite and professional. I oriented him to the home and communicated all that needed done. He went to work immediately and worked without breaking. He was maticulous, organized, and maintained a very neat work environment. He answered all my questions to my satisfaction...First he replaced the outside porch light quickly and easily. Next, I wanted the recepticle in the bathroom removed from the switch, He ran it as its own circuit to the breaker. The original location on the wall was moved per my request, I asked since he was running a new circuit, could he install an additional recepticle which he did without any problem now I have 4 outlets!! The only thing that really didn't go as I had planned was the first location picked for the recepticle had a plumbing pipe running and this was discovered when holes were drilled into the wall, but I did not have a prob with that because I am removing wall paper and will spackle it before painting: easy fix. He then worked in the basement replacing the two outlet rewiring etc, They have been dead for several years. Next, he rewired from the basement to the outside front recepticle with cover. Lastly, he assembled and installed the bedroom ceiling fan. Overall, I am very satisfied with all the work that was done mentioned above. Everything was done to code specifications. They also honored the Angie's list coupon. I have read comments about price being a little high, however, based on my experience, I felt that I got what a paid for; good quality work and piece of mind with the upgrades. Im very satisfied with this company!! He was probably there around 6-7 hours. I will definitely use this company for any future electrical needs.

Jess Howard Electric in Blacklick clearly isn't interested in doing the right thing for their residential customers. Here are the details of my experience: -Original date of service scheduled for 9-30-11. I was called by Kim on 9-28-11 and told that they needed to reschedule for 10-7-11 due to the lack of electrician availability. -October 6th, I returned home from a week long business trip to find two messages left on my home phone by Kim (one at 11 am 10-6-11 and one at 5:00 pm 10-6-11). The first message was calling to confirm the appointment for the next day. The message left at 5:00 pm that day stated that they were going to take the appointment off the schedule since they didn't get a return call. The company also had my cell phone number, however, they only left messages on my home phone. At 6:00 pm on 10-6-11, I left my first message with the emergency after hours operator. I told them the situation and stated that I had taken 10-7-11 as a day off from work to accommodate this re-scheduled appointment. No one returned my call. At 7:00 pm, I called again. The company emergency service operator confirmed that she had given my message to Jon Howard and would give him the message again. Still no return call. -October 7th, I called Jess Howard Electric and finally spoke to Kim (assistant to Tim Howard, Director of Residential) after two attempts. Kim stated that she could not fit me into her schedule on Oct. 7th (the date of my appointment). I asked to speak to her boss. After waiting for 5 minutes on hold. I was connected with Tim Howard Sr. I asked him if he was aware of the details of the situation. He replied that he was aware. I reminded him that I was an Angies List Customer and asked him how he planned to handle the problem. I told him that I was prepared to write a summary of my negative experience with his company on Angies List unless the situation was resolved. He responded stating "that is perfectly acceptable". Don't do business with this company. They do not value our business and simply can't find time in their schedule to do business with us even after two attempts.
