Jess Howard Electric Company

I was in the process of selling my house when some electrical problems that were in need of repair were brought to my attention. I had two companies out to give estimates. Both companies were within $50 of each other. The buyers wanted to use Jess Howard. Work was completed and I thought that everything was fine until by husband and I went to move the last of the stuff out of the garage the night before the closing. None of the electric in the garage worked. I called the company early the next morning to explain the situation and that the buyers would be doing their walk through on the property at noon. I calmly explained the situation and the gentleman on the phone said, "You women worry to much." I was floored. Totally disrespectful, but to his credit he did get a crew out to fix the problem. Now we are down to two hours before the buyer's walk through. We realize that when the garage was improperly wired that it fried the garage door opener. My husband had to go to Sears and install an entirely new motor. When we informed Jess Howard of the problem the tried to even deny being in the garage. The whole situation was totally ridiculous. I really don't care if they pay for the garage door opener ($160) or not but I was totally unhappy with the way I was treated on the phone and the quality of work that the did.

They did a great job and was happy with them.

This was a nice experience. Showed up on time, cleaned up after himself, would hire again.

They're an excellent company. The owner comes out as the person to do the bidding. He's a nice gentleman. The crew is perfect. If you need any electric work done, he is who you should call!

Wonderful! When I moved in this house (2 years ago) we received an estimate to upgrade the electric only. Another company quoted $3,000 - $4,000 just to upgrade the electric. Jess Howard was prompt, efficient, and very affordable. All work (scheduled for 2 days) was completed in one. From the estimate to the work performed, everything went very smooth. I would highly recommend them.

Estimator arrived on time and appeared very knowledgeable. Took time to answer all our questions. Estimate was better than others we received. If we decide to do this work, we expect to go with this company.

These guys were great! Tim Howard came as scheduled to give us an estimate and explain what would be involved in the project. The electricians arrived on time, worked steadily through the day, and gave every single task their very best effort. For example, running the service to the attic on the outside of the house would have been much quicker and easier for them, but they felt it would be unattractive and instead found a way to do the wiring via the interior. They modified light fixtures for us to work off pull-chains and rotary switches in places where we did not have wall switches, and cleaned their work areas thoroughly every day. The work was scheduled a week earlier than originally planned upon our request. We are absolutely delighted with this company.

Ran all new wiring and put in all fixtures. They were great! Company has been in the community for quite a while and they are very well ran.

The estimator was on time and provided a prompt estimate. The job (about three hours) was scheduled in under two weeks. The workman were on time and completed the job in a timely fashion. They cleaned up all materials remove for the repair.

They replaced bad sockets, motor in the bathroom fan and replaced shower lights.

They did the work quickly and with good quality. One of the ceiling fans had a small squeak. I called them and they came right back out and fixed it.

Chuck was great to work with and very knowledgeable. The sellers did provide an allowance to get the panel replaced. Once I closed on the house, I scheduled to have the panel replaced and add the GFCI switches in the kitchen and bath. He came out to do the work and was right on time in the morning. He replaced the panel and added the circuits within 6 hours. The original bathroom circuit was behind a bathroom cabinet and the previous owners cut a hole in the cabinet to use the power outlet. Chuck removed the power outlet, capped it, and added a new power outlet in a safer location, along with a GFCI. The electrical panel was replaced both on the inside and outside because the older panel was a Federal Pacific panel. These Federal Pacific panels are known to not trip and they are no longer being used. My only complaint is that when Chuck replaced the panel inside the house, he had to cut a larger whole than the panel sits in. I now have to repair drywall.

I wired the junction box incorrectly myself when tying in the dishwasher with the disposal and wall switch for the disposal. When I turned the breaker back on, the main breakers blew. It was about 5 pm on a 95 degree day, of course. I called Jess Howard for emergency service. I received a call back from their emergency supervisor in about 5 minutes. I explained the problem, and wanted to know how quickly they could get out to fix it. Instead, he took the time to ask me questions about the wires coming into the junction box and walked me through the correction in about 10-15 minutes on the phone. The fix, of course, was successful, and I was back up and running in about 30 minutes total time from when I went into "darkness and heat". I asked him seriously to send me a bill for his services as I was prepared to pay for emergency services if they could get out quickly for the repairs. He laughed and said no charge. Just call them the next time I need another project done.

This was very smooth. I phoned on a Friday, and an electrician was scheduled to come the following Tuesday afternoon. He called just before noon Tuesday and arrived shortly afterward. He finished the job and was gone before 1:00. Both the phone scheduler and the electrician himself were very polite and helpful.

They went above and beyond the call of duty. Very pleasant and good service.

Very good. They took my word at what work needed to be completed on the phone and I appreciated that. In addition they were able to schedule my service approximately an hour from when I called. This was especially nice since I was without power. Two gentleman came in and while one went to buy supplies (panel/circuit breakers) the other was able to remove the panel and complete any other work. They were very efficient and everything was back to normal by the time they left. Price was a little higher than the estimate I was quoted on the phone but that being said it was a quote over the phone w/o looking at the work and it was still well within an acceptable range for me.

This company is very responsive. Within two days they were out and finished the job in less than an hour. A couple of days later we noticed that the new receptacle was not placed where we had expected and called the company back to report the problem. They sent the technician back within a couple of days to complete the job at no cost. We have used Jess Howard Electric in the past and would highly recommend them.

Tom was on time for the estimate. He captured everything I had requested, offered some cost-saving suggestions, and provided an estimate that same day. They estimated it would take 2-4 days to complete the work, but they finished in just 2. A rake had fallen over in the garage when installing GFI outlet and broken a window. They came out and repaired. Overall, I was pleased with the work they did and their professionalism. I would consider them again for further electrical work.

I called early one morning and requested an estimate. I spoke with their answering service. They took my info and said they'd get it to them. I never got a return call from the company.

We had scheduled an estimate for Tuesday at 11:30 am. We received a call sometime around 8:30 am letting us know that they would not be able to get to us until 4:30 the following day. When we asked why they hadn't called us yesterday, the operator was slightly irritated that we had asked and gave no real answer. We asked if they would be able to come later in the day as we really wanted to get the quote in order to schedule other work in the house before our move-in. We explained that we would be available most of the day. At this the operator said it doesn't really matter anyway because we are booked for the next few weeks''. At this point there was definite lack of professionalism on the operators part. We asked why we weren't told of their availability when we had scheduled the estimate just 4 days before. We then received the classic answer probably because you didn't ask''. We would just like to pass on a heart felt that-a-boy to the team at Jess Howard!!!

I've used them for the last 10 years. They are a good company and they know what they are doing! They don't do anything they don't need to!

I thought their price was too high.

Estimator was on time and created a reasonable quote. He was professional and nice to talk to. My husband decided to do the work himself so we used no one.

They told me to call the electric company. That is what it was, so the electric company had to fix it.
