Nothing happened. Called in for a request to have an estimate for step repairs and tuck-pointing. Waited 6 business days without an acknowledgemnt or a return phone call to schedule a visit.

Mr. Scherer all but replaced the front steps (7) to my house. He salvaged bricks that he could reuse dismantled broken bricks and morter that was crumbling - reworking something that I had paid to have done a few months before. He also replaced all the broken platforms. He/his team was wonderful. He came, looked at the job, explained what needed to be done. He, came completed the job in a timely fashion, cleaned up and was gone.... I

I called several contractors on Monday, Jan. 20. I had discovered gaps between the blocks in my cellar wall and could see DAYLIGHT through a couple of them! This was right before another polar freeze was due and I was in a state of panic. My cellar was terribly cold and I could feel wind on my face at the back of the cellar. I got a call from another contractor who said I should probably wait until spring to do anything permanent and maybe I should just try to fill the gaps with something until then. I had stuffed them as best I could with dryer lint but was afraid that rodents would enter if I didn't get some patchwork done. Frank called me on Monday night and said he would be out the next day. He expressed concern for my situation since he was aware of the bitter cold that was coming. He came out promptly the next day and after scraping some of the wall, discovered several more spots that badly needed filled. He used mortar to fill in the holes, then went outside and did some patching there too even though the temperatures were hovering around zero. He used some kind of flaming tool to help cure the mortar on the outside. He and I discussed the fact that I needed insulation at the top of the cellar wall (rim joist) and he said he had some extra insulation at his house from a personal project and would bring it by the next time he was in my neighborhood. He and his wife showed up the very next day with the insulation. He gave it to me an no cost and I got a handyman to come up that night and put it in the space. I was so grateful to Frank for his prompt response to my plea for help. He was considerate and thoughtful and very knowlegeable. I will definitely hire him in the future. This man is a top-notch contractor in my opinion.

His quote was extremely fair he was punctual and showed respect for our landscaping. Frank had done the work himself in the time and cost promised.

He was able to save some of our old brick, which he incorporated with the new. He was very professional, and did quality work. He was also very respectful of our time, making all appointments on time, and working hard to get the job done as quickly as possible. Our steps were awful, and he made them look beautiful!

Frank was the best. I will say you have to wait for him to have time to come do estimates, but he is worth the wait. We had a few masons come for estimates for our point of sale violations (since we purchased this property, the city citied all of these issues). I honestly didn't even compare Frank's prices to the others. He was in the ballpark, but he was such a straight shooter. He talks about possible solutions and tells you the best option. In my case, he recommended just patching an area instead of completely rebuilding it. The work came out beautifully. Everything looks perfect. He called to follow up to make sure everything was up to the level that I expected. He left the property clean too! I would hire him again in a heartbeat!

Frank and his crew of 2 men do beautiful work. My steps were unusable. Now they look better than they ever did. Furthermore, I originally got an estimate from Frank in the summer of 2012 and told him at that time that I would not call until I saved the money. Frank honored the 2012 estimate one year later. The crew worked in the worst of the heat so far this summer and finished within two days. I am very happy.

It cold not have gone better. He came when he said to give me a quote. He did the job for the price quoted. He showed up to the job when he was supposed to. He did the repairs, cleaned up. Everything was perfect.

Frank completed the work in one day. Both porches look fantastic! I'd highly recommend him for any masonry jobs.

He was friendly and the price was pretty good. He came and did the job when he said he would. The only thing was that he did not cover the gutters and there was debris so the had to watch it all down the drains. I would still recommend him--I thought he did a good job.

He started the job when he said,an he told me everything he was going to do.When he finish tht job he an I looked over everything an he did a very good job.

The problem: a crack in the mortar around some brick above the garage door. Frank and his son inspected the problem area and gave me some suggestions as to how the problem could be fixed. After discussing the various options and the cost of each, I gave Frank my decision on the option I wanted to go with. The job was to be done the following week and he would call with the date. Frank and his son arrived on the day and time specified ready to work. The work was completed and the repair job was transparent since Frank took the time to match the existing mortar (which had been up for 35+ years). Although we had not discussed any other repair work, I asked if a few holes and some tuck pointing around the fireplace chimney. This was agreed to and completed once the wall was done. Frank also stopped by about a week later to check on the work and if we were satisfied with the work that had been done. In conclusion, Frank explained the problem and what that needed to be fixed, gave me choices as to what could be done and answered any of my questions without any objection. Both Frank and his son were pleasant to work and I would definitely call upon them if the need arose.

Frank and his helper replaced the cracked 2-1/2" thick stone on the top of the steps at our front door and tuckpointed the supporting bricks. Frank did the measurements, had a quarry cut the stone and installed it with the required pitch. And he kept his truck off the newly planted grass! After the old stone was removed, the wife requested that they cut the stone down for a sitting bench and it was no problem. That was a bonus I didn't need! LOL. Frank did a very nice job and comes very highly recommended.

Called him cause he has excellent reviews on the list. He came on time and introduced himself professionally. Looked at my furnace chimney stack from his binoculars and he said that my chimney is in good shape. He thinks the only way the water is getting on the chimney wall is thru a pinhole from the flashing silicon caulking. He advised to have the flashings recaulked and go from there. He is an honest guy. Other guys came over wanting to reflash, tuckpoint and seal the chimney and also pull the furnace liner out. He said those are unnessary repairs. He is an honest guy unlike other contractors who are out to make a quick buck.

Frank and his team did a very thorough job on numerous masonry repair projects at my home. This is a highly professional company to work with - from obtaining the estimate through completion of the job. (Note: this is the second time I've hired this company for masonry work in recent years). The team is knowledgeable, punctual, meticulous and overall do quality work. This particular job required coordination with a second contractor within a very narrow time window - Frank and team were very accommodating and did everything possible to work with the second contractor so that all the work could be completed in a timely manner. Thanks once again Frank & company!

The boss and two workers did an excellent job. The entire job only took about 6 hours. The new mortar closely matches the color of the original mortar. The crew did an excellent job of cleanup. The price was much cheaper than two other estimates I received.

We started looking into rebuilding our chimney in the fall of 2011. Frank's was one of 3 estimates. It was a little difficult getting his estimate, as he was very busy in that timeframe and we had to call a few times. With the good weather this spring, we were ready for the job. Frank was very responsive in getting back to us and scheduling the work. He was able to start the week after we called. The job took about 4 days. He took care during teardown so that he wouldn't damage the firebox. Fortunately, that was in good condition and no extra work was required. He suggested a variety of brick colors that we otherwise would not have considered. The work crew was punctual, friendly and professional. The chimney looks wonderful. Great clean-up too.

The project went smoothly. Frank came out first to give an estimate, we walked around the house and noted all the areas to be tuckpointed. I've used him in the past at my old house and he wasn't the highest or lowest estimate then. This estimate seemed consistent, size-adjusted, so this was the only estimate I got this time as I was happy with his work at my old house. (The $1100 of work for this job was for a large old house and included filling in an old coal shoot with bricks, in case it looks high.) We scheduled a date a week or two later and he came out with his guys as scheduled, and performed the work for the agreed upon price. He has different colors of mortar to choose from to best match the existing mortar. He and his men were polite and neat.

I absolutely could not be more pleased

It took some time to get Mr. Scherer out to give an estimate (apparently, he's quite busy), However, his estimate was quite reasonable and since it was a relatively small job, he came back within a few days to perform the work. Did a great job, and cleaned up any and all debris. Fantastic work!

It went great. They followed thru, finished the job sooner than projected, were very professional, timely, neat.

He was fine. He was a quiet man and he gave us the estimate by email. He was pleasant and I appreciate that he responded, but I didn’t choose him.

Our brick chimney had failed a city inspection because of spalling of the brick face. We were looking at spending over $1000 to rebuild the chimney, but Frank suggested another fix that would be a fraction of that cost. The chimney didn't really need to be rebuilt, it was still structurally sound, it just needed a cosmetic fix. Frank and his crew applied colored mortar to look like brick. Now, it looks great and the city inspector was happy. Frank assured us that it will last just as long as real brick, and we're happy.

Overall Frank and his men were excellent, they did a great job with the brick work. They found other spots that were outside the scope when they were here and completed them for no extra charge. It shows how they really care about doing excellent work. They arrived in the morning and had completed two chimneys, 7 window sills and a number other areas by 6 PM. All the work was completed in on day and Frank came by several times to check on the job and inspect himself. The grout they used matched the work that was in place and the repairs are hardly noticeable. The quality of the work they did was exceptional and I would highly recommend them.
