They started the work for me in June and just finished for me. I have a very old home with a major job for dry wall and plastering. I have about 6 doorways and a window that they had to cut around. They also did a stairwell and hallway. They did a great job with all the measuring and I was happy with the experience. When they were here working they also cleaned up very nicely. I did have to have them come back to touch up some parts, but calling them to have them come out was not a problem with them at all. When they left there was some plaster dust that was still around my home, but overall it was a good experience.

The man from American Plaster & drywall went to work. In ~2 hours or less the work was completed and I was very happy with the result. The workmanship was excellent. The new drywall matched the old drywall and once I?ve painted the new drywall you won?t be able to tell that it was repaired. I did not have to pay for the work then but was later billed $140 by mail. I paid by check through the mail. American Plaster & Drywall does not accept checks.
Description of Work: I live in a tw0-story townhouse. Hofmann Plumbing had recently completed a relatively major plumbing job on the washer inflow valve on the back wall of my second floor washer/dryer closet. The plaster on the back wall of the washer/dryer closet needed to be repaired. Within several hours after calling American Plastering & Drywall on the April 26, 2013 the owner of American Plaster & Drywall, Jeff Wilson, came to my townhouse, surveyed the drywall work that needed to be done, and gave me a written estimate of $140 to do the work. At the time he said he would “put me on their schedule.” Having had work done by American Plaster & Drywall in the past I knew that this is their normal operating procedure for this company. I believe that they are in fairly great demand and you just have to wait your turn in line to have work done by them. Several weeks later, on Monday, May 13, 2013, Jeff called and we set up an appointment to have the work done the next day, Tuesday, May 14th at 1 PM. The following day the man from American Plaster & Drywall came within minutes of the appointed time of 1 PM.

For years, I've wanted to smooth out my LR and DR ceilings, and finally decided I'd waited long enough. I called American Plaster and Drywall based on positive Angie's List reviews. The owner of the company, Jeff, came to my home to give an estimate in terms of cost and time to complete the work. He indicated each room would take 2 to 3 days. He was polite, courteous, and professional. I didn't even bother getting estimates from other companies because other reviews said his prices were competetive, and because the company is based in my community. I like to patronize local businesses whenever possible. Jeff said it would be a couple of weeks before he could start the work, which was fine with me; I needed some time to get furniture moved around and to secure the help to do so. Jeff called on April 22, 2013 to say he could send someone out the following day. I agreed, and Russ came to my home the following morning to begin the work. Russ was very courteous and friendly, and I got the distinct impression that he took great pride in his work. My ceilings look great! Russ did an excellent job. He laid drop cloths all over the carpeting, used plastic to seal off doorways, cabinets, and registers, wiped down dust from the walls and windows, and thoroughly vacuumed the carpet when he was done for the day. He asked if he could leave his equipment in the room overnight, indicating that he would take it all with him and bring it back the next day if that's what I preferred. I told him it was okay to leave his equipement in the room. He stacked everything neatly as out of the way as possible, and even made sure that my dog couldn't get to anything potentially harmful. The work took exactly as long as Jeff had predicted, and, although I haven't received the bill yet, I have no reason to believe that the cost will exceed the original estimate. I am very pleased with the work done and would not hesitate to contact this company again for any future plastering needs.

Called in December for damage from Hurricane Sandy from wind driven rain. We had a small area of ceiling damage where the tape had fallen off and the ceiling drywall damaged. We also had a section of drywall in our foyer that needed repair on two sides from where nails had popped out years ago. They came within the week to evaluate and estimate. Called back in a few weeks when they were ready to come out and they scheduled the repair visit. Technician arrived promptly, did quick and neat work and cleaned up after himself. He was very professional and pleasant and did excellent work.

I called Jeff and one other contractor. Both came out and provided estimates. I selected Jeff based on his very reasonable estimate and straitforwardness about the task at hand. Jeff's technician came out when scheduled. He made all repairs in one day except for coming back the next day to sand wall repairs. Then there turned out to be a stubborn nail hole that needed to be repaired a second time, and one crack that needed touch-up after it had dried well. Jeff's technician came out again to complete the touch-up and I am very satisfied with his work.

We have used Jeff before and remain very satisfied with his company's work. He called me back promptly, came to the house and checked out all of our problem areas - we had multiple areas of water damage and had waited to do repairs until a new roof was completed. There was one section of ceiling that had to be replaced because we had removed skylights. Jeff predicted he could get us on his schedule in a couple weeks - before Christmas. He called several mornings later to ask if we could start that day because he had an opening on the schedule. It worked out great for us - his workers were flexible and got all the work done over a couple days. They confirmed with me that they had completed every area we needed to be repaired - a courtesy I appreciated. They kept the dust and disruption to a minimum and cleaned up every day. We are very satisfied - the price was fair and the work was excellent.

The boss came out right away to give me an estimate. He was able to fit me into his schedule in 10 days from estimate date. The guys did most of the work the first day and finished in 2 more visits. The work was professionally done. Considering they had to join the drywall skin with the adjacent woodwork in some areas, they did an excellent job. I was happy with their work.

They seemed to do good work for a reasonable price. They were punctual and professional. Unfortunately, new cracks developed in the kitchen ceiling that they repaired withing 3 months of the intial repair. My first phonecall regarding the problem was never returned. After another phonecall, I spoke with Jeff who told me that it happens and that they would call me back. I indicated that I wanted them to come and look at the problem. There was no known reason why new cracks whould have developed so quicky. It has been a couple of weeks since the second phonecall, and I have never received a call back about trying to address the problem. I'm very disappointed that they have not tried to follow-up with me about it. I'm not sure if I'll use them again if this is what happens when there is a problem with their work.

This is a 90 year old house, that has wood lath and plaster. We did not repair cracks in the ceiling. We removed wall paper and skimed it smooth. These cracks appeared later. Could be temperature or humidity They may close up in the winter. The point is we never repaired thse cracks.

These people are more than excellent. Jeff came out twice for the estimate because I need to change what I wanted done. Jeff and his cfew showed up on Monday prepping the walls, hanging drywall, and started taping. The nest day and a half they spent doing the joints and mudding where the new drywall joined the old plaster lath. Because my schedule was tight they came at 7:30 am to give me some leeway. Jeff even corrected some of the things I wanted done as I was going to do it in an incorrect manner and he told me how to stick to code. Jeff, thanks a lot.

I had to have some plumbing work done that required the plumber to cut a big hole in my dining room wall so I needed new drywall installed then wanted them to paint the room too. I got 3 estimates and they were all pretty close in price. Jeff from American Plaster was the guy who spent the most time explaining what he would do so I decided to go with him. He said he was about a week out and sure enough it was one week after I gave him the go ahead that they came to fix my wall. Tom was the drywall guy and he did a great job. Kept the area as clean as he could when he was working and cleaned up really well when he was done. Took the day to repair the hole and put the layers of texture over the new drywall. He came back the next morning to sand it down and that part was done. They wanted then to paint 2 days later but that didn't work for my schedule so they came the following Tuesday which was fine. Mary Ann painted the room and she did a fantastic job. And cleaned up the room really well when she was done. I look at the wall now and I can't even tell there was ever a hole there!

Everything looks good and Jeff was very professional when I talk to him on the phone.

All went well. I gave a green light on a Thursday and he scheduled for 8:15 Monday. He arrived at 8:20 (as far as I'm concerned, that's right on time). He carefully covered the carpet and the immobile furniture, stripped off the failed tape, and retaped and mudded. He came back Tuesday, same time, to sand and texture. He cleaned up very thoroughly before he left.
Description of Work: He retaped and mudded drywall joints which had cracked or whose original tape had lifted. Some of the joints were in a textured ceiling and he matched the surrounding texture very well.

Tom did an excellent job of patching the hole in the drywall. The drywall had a distinctive raised texture to it which he matched very well. Once the wall has been painted no one will be able to tell that there had been a hole there. I think the hardest part of the job for Tom was moving the washer out of the closet so that he had enough room to work. I couldn't help him move the washer because I have a bad back. So all in all, he did a great job and it was probably a lot harder job than he expected because of the washer and the small area to work in the closet. I think the $95 I paid for the work was a bargain. My only real complaint with American Plastering & Drywall was that I had to wait 2 weeks or so for them to come out and do the job and was only given one days notice. I think I had to wait so long because they do such good work and are probably in great demand. This is the second time I?ve had them do work for me and, once again, they did a very good job.
Description of Work: Tom from American Plaster & Drywall patched a relatively large hole in the drywall in a closet containing my clothes washer and dryer. The hole was in the back wall of the closet and was about 15"x15". It was directly below the water faucets that supply water to the washer. The hole had resulted when the water faucets had to be replaced because they leaked quite badly and could not be repaired. Unfortunately the plumber had to make the hole in the drywall to get to the pipes below the faucets.
